Say what you want about the gameplay of this chapter, but Agustria is probably the most compelling continent in the Fire Emblem franchise. All of the Lords act independently of each other in pursuit of their own goals, even when someone is invading at their doorstep. Macbeth wants to make money and milk his villagers to the bone. Clement wants to stay uninvolved in the political drama. The Lords who attack you mainly do so out of spite, not because the king told them to. You really get to see just how disorganized the country is when a war breaks out, but one territory outright refuses to help fight and another one takes advantage of the chaos by siccing bandits to leech the money out of their own villages. It really shows you that FE4 isn't really a game, and more of a story that you get to play. What's more compelling, a text line saying "the Leicester alliance is disunified" or something like this, where you can directly see it happening? Only in FE4 could a country like Agustria be pulled off well.
Yup Fe4 really felt like you were breaking apart a country or kingdom. Chp9 also feels like this where the level is purposefully linear because of the rugged geography of Thracia and how it happens to be that the Loptyrian bishop calls on knights from Grannvale to help him out rather than dracoknights or armored knights that work for Hannibal
BobbyYukitsuki Augustria is a continent? Pretty sure its a kingdom with cities and villages that are controlled by individual dukes or lords of houses. Jugdral is the contitent that holds all of these kingdoms together. Although I could be wrong. But yea the amount of depth jugdral has is unlike any other contitent in other fe’s where you don’t really give a shit about the kingdoms or the people and this track is straight fire
lol I love 3H too after finally playing it but I can't deny the last paragraph. It very much is worse than FE4 in a lot of what it set out to do, though imo that still makes it better than most other FE games...
If they wanted to, they could have shown the Leicester Alliance being disunified in 3 Houses. But that wasn't something they felt the need to focus on, even in Verdant Wind. Whereas Agustria not being united was kind of the whole point of the chapter. Difference of priorities, that's what it boils down to.
I think of the first four maps as corresponding with a season. Birth of the Holy Knight is Spring. It's more hopeful than happy; like saying that things are bad now, but we can do this. Girl in the Spirit Forest is Summer. It's saying that things are great, we're doing great, and we will win. Disturbance in Augustria is Autumn. It's around the time when consequences start settling in, and the mood is melancholy, and you start to wonder whether this is the right thing to do. Weirdly enough, when I remember the map, I think of the ground as yellow instead of green. Lionheart Eldigan is Winter. Shit has hit the fan. You've dug your grave. Your only option is to fight your way out, but that just lets you live to make things worse.

This is probably my favorite map theme from genealogy, i stopped playing the game for a good five minutes just to listen to this song the first time i reached this part. Can't wait for the arranged version in the inevitable remake.
Lachesis does deserve a weapon refine in FEH. If sought after or below average units like Eldigan, Odin, Cherche, Merric, Soren and Linde got a refine why can't Lachesis? She is the best absorb+ user in the game due to her mixed bulk with pretty good defense and very good res for an infantry staff unit. Just give her the Earth Sword but it would be called "Earth Staff." It would have 14 might, retain the absorb+ effect but would heal more hp to her allies after she attacks and also wrathful staff 3 too. For the divine dew effect, it would be Flora's attack/res solo skill. This would increase her attack and resistance by 6 causing her to better heal herself more hp and have more longevity in the battlefield with the extra resistance. Or the divine dew effect can be distant defense 3
The more I listen to FE4 OST, the more reasons I want a remake. Imagine rearranged, expended versions of these tracks. They're good as they are, but they can be even better on a more powerful console!
thinking about when Sigurd climbed all the way through the mountain range to sneak attack the mackily castle only for me to realize by the time he reached the thickets that actually he couldn't pass through the thickets. which meant he had to turn around. which meant waiting for him to come back to bum rush the boss. which meant 10 turns of sigurd walking all the way back. that's all this chapter is to me. also lex died twice.
One aspect i like about FE4 i wish other games did was the different music for maps. Like, listening to the same map themes in other ones does get to you a bit (sure, they have the victory themes for when you defeated a boss and are about to seize the fort, move on to the next chapter) but still, a nice variety of different map music could be nice...

I got like 4 of him after his banner. Kept the one with good IVs and used the rest for that sweet Brazen Atk/Def fodder. Eliwood is still the best sword cavalier. I pity the losers who wasted their orbs on B.Roy.
They should give Lachesis the Valkyrie Staff for her weapon refine. This staff has wrathful staff built in and retains the absorb effect. Healers should get to use offensive specials like luna, glimmer, iceberg, ignis etc. Their potential would be amazing and they would powercreep every unit in the game due to them having the ability to heal allies, themselves and have access to wrathful and dazzling staff. Come on IS if Veronica can be stupidly broken why can every other healer?
Maybe they're planning to create a staff unit whose staff ability allows them to use offensive specials. In that case that would be pretty cool
Adding to this, Nanna has some voice clips that suggest that she would use them in battle if she could use specials like Glimmer and Sol, etc. At least, that's what I think; I've never heard her say this one particular line in battle ever so I don't know why it was recorded. She only says it, funnily, in Tap Battle. "Don't you dare!" sounds like a special quote line but she never says it in actual battle or healing someone. And I've used Nanna since I got her last year.
@@Galdr actually, all healers have skill quotes.
Time for every infantry unit in the universe to have Null C-Disrupt 3, then.
@@WelcomeToWalMarth I think what he means is that Nanna's quote is pretty hostile for a healer so maybe she was initially planned to be a sword user or something

I hate the loop transition or lack thereof in this
Last Revels from Shadow Dragon is probably the worst looping fire emblem song. At least this one sounds like it ended before restarting. Last Revels feels like it restarts before it even finishes. It's odd since in the NES and SNES the loop was fine.
@@DrewPicklesTheDark ill look it up
@@DrewPicklesTheDark I suppose youre right bc I cant even really tell where it loops
I haven't noticed any loop issues?
@@WT_Neptune i made this 2 years ago and I dont have the same problem anymore id say just disregard it
...this logo...was made...back in 1996... I thought Fire Emblem Awakening was the first game to have a new logo! 🤯
No it wasn’t. Genealogy of the Holy War was only officially released in Japan, this is just a fanmade logo
The chapter where I abused warp and return staves, I only loved the song and Lewyn. Chapter 2 map is the worst
A lot of the gen 1 maps are not very great, just the prologue and chapter 5 lack tons of backtracking shenanigans.
