It's great Mel is sharing her story. But if she could only allow Lewis to finish what's he is saying. Please slow down your speech a little Mel. Will be more enjoyable 🙏
It’s not all that powerful when you consider it’s basic common sense. Whether you “let them” or not they’ll do whatever the hell they want. Just like you will. 😂
❤ absolutely 💯. I found this out the hard way trying to change my narc ex. I didn't realise how much of my power I was giving away. My awakening when I told him I was dying inside and he turned to watch the tb. In that moment, I knew I couldn't change him. So I let him live his life his way and divorced him. I am now a trained counsellor and coach and help people see this message. Don't compromise on who you are for breadcrumbs. Step into your own power by being true to yourself! ❤❤❤❤
I love that Lewis takes notes during his shows!!! It’s such a beautiful reflection of his passion to grow and learn, but also teach and influence. It’s admirable!!
Biggest take away that love is acceptance. If I can't accept it, then it's not for me to fix, change or control, nor should I minimize myself to tolerate the intolerable. It's for them to be satisfied in the way they do things, or to experience the consequences that will motivate them to change by their own choosing. Thank you guys for this ❤
Thank you both so much! My biggest takeaway is the power and gift of allowing people to be who they are while deciding how we want to proceed, given our values. This is gold!
Mel Robbins’ approach in The Let Them Theory resonates deeply, especially in a world where we often feel the urge to control or fix everything around us. Her insight that we unknowingly give away our power by trying to control others is a powerful reminder that we can only truly lead by example, not force. The idea of "letting them" is about releasing the need for control and embracing the freedom that comes from focusing on our own actions and reactions. It’s a refreshing perspective, particularly in both personal and professional environments where expectations can lead to burnout and unnecessary resistance.
Enjoyed this conversation and like you said it came at the perfect time. I wanted to control the situation of a family member addicted to alcohol. When the negativity reeled me in I have to take a step back. I cannot make their battle my battle. I'm not responsible for their choices. I have to let them go through whatever it is they need to go through. I chose to Let Them and now I'm on to Let Me. 🙏🏾💚
Got married at 26 and been married 20 years and with her for 22 years. We’ve had such an amazing marriage and life 😊 - wasn’t always easy but gets stronger every year we are together.
My Take-away is: 'Control' is no longer a 'bad' word.. I completely enjoyed this conversation between Louis and Mel; I was reminded of skills/tools that I had forgotten that I can use to move forward in situations and I certainly learned some brand new ones. Many Thanks ❤❤
Thank you Mel for sharing your wisdom👏❤. My take away ... don't force or try to change others- Let them! Let Me- Choose what I deserve from each relationship, focus on what I can control and act on it with good intentions 👍🤔
My biggest take away from this conversation and “the let them theory” = Let them = I believe in you (I love you just the way you are. I might love you from a distance. And everything is just as it should be, because it IS). Thank you ❤
Focus on what you can control fellas !!!! Edit:- thanks for the likes 🙏🏾 1. Focusing on what we can't control like the News instead of "You" 2. Focusing on things you don't have like that Bugatti instead of on things you do have...Gratitude, loved ones etc 3. Focusing on the Past(it's already history) & the Future(a mystery) instead of the Now, the Present moment(a joyful gift😇). All creations happens Now...
For sure! Unlocking freedom and peace often starts with self-discovery. It could be about finding activities that make you happy, surrounding yourself with positive people, or even practicing mindfulness.
This is exactly the message I needed to push myself out of relationships and connect closer with people that share my values.Thank you @Mel Robbins & @Lewis Howes for all that you do!
I’m loving the Let Them book. Wow, this is so simple and effective (not always easy but simple)! Biggest take away for me: a relationship requires mutual admiration and consideration Thanks Mel and Lewis
Darn if Mel Robbins she did it again! I agree this is the book of a Decade. My 2 daughters & I follow both Lewis & Mel have shared this theory with so many. My biggest problem is applying theory's Mel you made it with this "Let them" theory so darn easy that I even get it😅 I am buying my copy now. Thank you Mel❣️
I've been listening to Mel for quite a while and can never get enough of her. I've learned so much and shared with so many how encouraging she is. I will continue to encourage others to listen to her and read her book. But for me, after listening to this, it broke me thus morning. Had I known this sooner 😢. Parents especially need to listen and follow Mel's words. Love you Mel
This was an excellent interview. Getting the book. Mel Robbins you’re a game changer ma’am. Continue to be the blessing and light that you are. Cannot wait for this book. Learning how to “let them” has been a groundbreaking spiritual awakening for me. Thank you ❤!
I loved the interview, thank you. So many takeaways like operating from a space where im proud of myself, reminder that I hold the power and to allow people to be who they are. One of my favourite parts was towards the end, where Mel spoke of being present for this part of her life❤ thank you both
Hey Mel, congratulations in advance. The road I have traveled and still on would have been so much easier if this was released so much earlier. We all go through things at different times. You can only speak of these things because you experienced them. Our situations are definitely different but the impact and additional trauma we have put ourselves through by trying to be that good person and taking control or trying to change others because we see the good in them has taken away from our light. Your work is inspiational and uplifting. It teaches and doesn't force. I pre-ordered the book and watched this podcast because I wanted to. I shared it with family and friends because its a way for me to share the peace I want them to feel without telling them about themselves and they need to change. Maybe they are happy. Maybe not. I will always care about others but it's about damn time we all put ourselves first and care how we see ourselves. I can hope people change because I empathize with the hurt they feel and I see what they need to do to change their situation. I'm thankful I made it to the point where I realize, that is not my job. If you ever start a course, retreat, book club please advertise it like crazy. If I see it, I'll be a part of it. Thank you for this
As a mum of two and going through a messy and horrid divorce this has really resonated with me. Let them. I'm like Mel a proper control freak so I will be using your strategies much more. Thanks Mel and Lewis.
What a piece of wisdom. Life changing. I was not taught emotional boundaries. I understand that the problem is me!!!!! Ty Ty Ty. Now I can hopefully practice the abc. Theory help me
Book ordered. I do an annual 5 day fast in January. Im now also planning to switch off my phone for the 7 days to regroup and take back my power. I’m so much better at prioritising myself and “letting them” but Xmas time is harder. More wins than losses so I accept “let me” for a short time too. ❤
I look so forward to how you will use this information further to create teachable moments Lewis. When I hear you and observe how you respond to guests and share space with guests I see you are honest and humble and kind and fair. I enjoy your intelligence and humility. Thank you. It is easy to "hear" you and "be open" to learn with and from you. That was my take away today.
Thank you Lewis and Mel. I watch Mel's podcast often and this is the third iteration of interviews I have watched about the "Let Them Theory" book. I also watched Oprah's interview. I very much appreciate not only the basic premise of the theory (let go of control of others) but also the "Let Me" portion, which offers us all the opportunity to take back our power and agency, once we realize that we always have choices in our lives. I had forgotten this lately, especially concerning a particular work relationship. I was acting out in resentment and anger and did not understand why. Through research and prayer, I now understand how I had abandoned myself by believing the story in my head that I had no power within the relationship, other than to act out in anger to get my needs met. My acting out has caused many problems and, of course, that behavior did not get my needs met. I will now "let them" be who they are, knowing that I also have agency. Such a powerful shift and message!
I tried again and again ...and this time it doesn't look like a winner. I did everything to stay and face it even against my sanity...let them will be the last result...
Mel is great. Let Them is a real gift for people. The urge to control seems to derive from a lack of trust and the fear that generates. I agree that it is a real act of love to say ‘let them’. Doing so communicates that we trust people to make the best decisions for themselves and we actively want them to make those decisions for themselves, even if that ultimately takes us to different places. The parting can be a joyous affirmation of the person we are separating from, an acknowledgement that they are great *exactly as they are*, and so are we ❤:)
I like how this is basically the message of CoDA but explained more simply and in a two step process. A powerful message that nearly anybody can use and learn from 👏🏻
This video couldn't have shown up at a more perfect time for me. Thank you for this! I have been in so many situations where I feel the need to control others when I have issues with controlling my own emotions and actions. I can't wait to read the book!
My take away from this is realizing on how I was more controlling person than I thought I was! I will control me and let others be and do what they need to do! Let them also discover themselves! Thank for that great interview!💫💫💫👍
I❤ listening to this conversation. Mel your a gifted author and speaker. Love your new book. I can relate to so many words you shared. Thanks Mel and Lewis for helping make this world a better place to live. 💝
I think it’s about not allowing the negative emotion take over. So that the amygdala high jack won’t take over and you think and process clearly. Leading to doing what’s best for you❤️🦋
I’ve just found the 5 sec rules and now the let them. It is a really neat approach. I have done that without knowing that I was doing it. I think it is the best way to prove your love to your loved one
I love this Let them theory. I already finished the audio book and starting to listen to it for second time. It all sounds so familiar to me. Everything what's Mel talking about. I used to have this kind of mind set.. and then I lost it.. so Thank you Mel Robbins for the reminder.
This is hands down the absolute best podcast interview I have ever ever watched. I have been savoring self-help books, podcasts, videos, you name it and I have thrown myself into bettering me, for the better of all, for many years. Favorite take-away…. how does one pick? I loved them alllll. The A-B-C is definitely a goodie. I also like hearing the person is already in-tense with themselves, very very true. Mel, this IS your Legacy! Your energy seems so precise and on point, balanced but still your true self. I love this for you. Stay present amd savor the journey! Lewis, you are always ALWAYS a favorite. Now, I have a new book for the new year 🎉 Namaste 🙏
YES! This interview was pure magic! Two of my favourite speakers together, inspiring me to be the best version of myself ❤️ This was the best thing I have seen so far this year.
Great ideas and thoughts! I do think that it is important to "let them" but communicate what you need and ask how you can help them. That does not mean do for them, but help them to start on the path towards full personal development. Ask what others need rather than assume that others need your input! Great interview. Peace and Blessings to all present.
I love it, my greatest Takeaway is the “love and let live” framing. I think the timing is perfect for this concept - on a worldwide level. Thank you, Mel & so much love Lewis! Please do more of these together!
I have a great deal of admiration for both of you. This came at the perfect moment for me. You both are so inspiring to me and so many others. Thank you for simply being you & doing what you do!! Namaste, Lewis. Namaste, Mel. ✨🤍✌️🖤✨
Waiting for my book to arrive, but I have already felt a huge surge of my personal power by being able to detach from a situation where I couldn't win because I was being so controlling! Thank you both
I love Mel! I've been following her for a long time and am now following Louis as well. You're both great and I'm so proud of you both for searching and helping all of us that are searching as well. The Let Them Theory makes so much sense. The thing I love that Mel talked about on one of her podcasts is about looking for hearts everywhere you go and seeing life in a different way because of it. I'm now finding them everywhere and am chronicling them via photos. Thanks to you both for being lights where there can be a lot of dark!
Thank you so much Mel. Having discovered late in life that I was dyslexic and ADHD. Struggling and was able to overcome only in junior high when my mom took me to her OBGYN for weight loss and was given s (diet ) pill. Something magical happened I was able to focus I was able to to pass with flying colors extremely hard classes that my classmates hated. And lost weight. The focusability that I got from that queued me in on the subject. Something's off. And then when I did not take them I fell back to a struggling loss distracted idiot feeling person. Not knowing why I was struggling. Anyway this is a great Thank you so much for sharing. Psychology has come so far back in the day we had very few in my class that could even afford to go to the doctor. For petty things like that. Thank you so much for your help now and forever whoever watches this at any time Will gain knowledge from what you've shared with us lady I love you❤
I found & have been listening to your podcast, Lewis, for several years now. Sometime later I found Mel & I’m a Launch alumni. I spend my time with you all & the other Greats. It’s been so rewarding. I’ve been learning to regulate my nervous system & I’m feeling grounded & ready to LAUNCH. Thank you for investing in me❤Merry Christmas!!!!🎄🌟
My biggest take away is to control what you can and to never try to change a person or fix their life for them ,just LET 'EM ,and to not believe what people say pay attention to their behaviors because people will always reveal themselves.
Let them because you will see what their true intentions are. For me this is HUGE it takes away from story mode i.e. what if i buy them something to make them like me, call them because they haven’t called me, etc. I’m always trying to make everyone happy and that’s not necessarily a good thing because i drain myself of my own energy.
2 amazing people sharing their wisdoms with us. Thank you!!! ❤❤ Love how you guys bring it to real examples and how one might communicate the “whys” and then knowing we need to “let me-s…” Wow. Then those A, B , C s. What great insights and lessons. Thank you Mel for taking us on your journeys. ❤ I’m glad you can enjoy and be present for this moment.
Thanks to Mel for sharing her wisdom with us! Leave a “YES” if you enjoyed this and share the biggest moment for you. And make sure to subscribe to never miss out on inspiring content like this again RUclips.com/lewishowes

Yes 🎀
It's great Mel is sharing her story. But if she could only allow Lewis to finish what's he is saying. Please slow down your speech a little Mel. Will be more enjoyable 🙏
Yes!! Absolutely!
The biggest takeaway I get from this podcast is about let them do in their own way and let me take responsibility about my values and decisions.
This woman is a gift. “let people have negative thoughts about you “. So powerful
It’s not all that powerful when you consider it’s basic common sense. Whether you “let them” or not they’ll do whatever the hell they want. Just like you will. 😂

Why does this lady always make me cry?! Crying for the clarity I need. Such a soul cleansing awakening. Thank you Mel

Good point. That’s my concern. Do I let people be or make room for people whose values align.
I’m loving the Let Them book. Wow, this is so simple and effective (not always easy but simple)!
Biggest take away for me: a relationship requires mutual admiration and consideration
Thanks Mel and Lewis

That’s amazing to hear! I’m grateful to have such incredible guests sharing their wisdom. Who would you love to hear from next?
My biggest takeaway on this wonderful interview was the idea that: "letting them" (for me) gives ME the freedom to do my OWN thing.
Peace ❤
Mel is amazing. It's a daily struggle for me but I keep fighting it in letting go
"Let them. Let me" - taking your power back. :) thank you
This was an excellent interview. Getting the book. Mel Robbins you’re a game changer ma’am. Continue to be the blessing and light that you are. Cannot wait for this book. Learning how to “let them” has been a groundbreaking spiritual awakening for me. Thank you ❤!
This is my 3rd time listening to The 5 second Rule. I Love Mel and her ways of getting through! 🙏🏼🍃
Glad you enjoyed it!
Same here and I think I discovered Mel through Lewis many years ago.
you and mel together, MAGIC! thank you both
I loved the interview, thank you. So many takeaways like operating from a space where im proud of myself, reminder that I hold the power and to allow people to be who they are. One of my favourite parts was towards the end, where Mel spoke of being present for this part of her life❤ thank you both

Everyone needs to hear from Mel, and the world is gonna be a much much better place.
As a mum of two and going through a messy and horrid divorce this has really resonated with me. Let them. I'm like Mel a proper control freak so I will be using your strategies much more. Thanks Mel and Lewis.
focusing on what you can control put you in control of things that matters.
❤
Great. !!!! Mel is. “Downtown earth”. YES. Lewis. Bring her back. .. Thank. You. Her book. Is a “wake-up call” !!! Thank you. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
What a piece of wisdom. Life changing. I was not taught emotional boundaries. I understand that the problem is me!!!!! Ty Ty Ty. Now I can hopefully practice the abc. Theory help me
My biggest take away is to allow others so that I Can get my energy back and enjoy my life.
This is so true about boundaries and external energy from others...
Ordered my copy a few days ago and came across this interview…thank you both for your words of wisdom!
Book ordered. I do an annual 5 day fast in January. Im now also planning to switch off my phone for the 7 days to regroup and take back my power. I’m so much better at prioritising myself and “letting them” but Xmas time is harder. More wins than losses so I accept “let me” for a short time too. ❤
Love that!
I relate to this especially Xmas being harder. Back at it now in January!
This episode spoke to me powerfully and I am eternally grateful for her message. Thank you 🙏
Thank you Lewis and Mel.
Glad it supported and you got to this conclusion for yourself in your work!
My life hasn't turned out as I expected. Thinking about 'Let them ' and 'Let me' whilst handling the pain and the shame. Thank you x
I am obsessed with your content and love the wisdom you and your guests share. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Appreciate you and your support! 🎉
I have been struggling with letting them be some times. Thank you
To both of you from the bottom of my heart ❤❤
My take away from this is realizing on how I was more controlling person than I thought I was! I will control me and let others be and do what they need to do! Let them also discover themselves! Thank for that great interview!💫💫💫👍
So glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you for watching.
I love her so so much!!!!❤
Yes, Let them!!!
I❤ listening to this conversation. Mel your a gifted author and speaker. Love your new book. I can relate to so many words you shared. Thanks Mel and Lewis for helping make this world a better place to live. 💝
So glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you for watching.
Mel, you are a great person ❤ i love you. Be proud of you...
I think it’s about not allowing the negative emotion take over. So that the amygdala high jack won’t take over and you think and process clearly. Leading to doing what’s best for you❤️🦋
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!! 🧡
One of the best interviews I've seen. Truly parallel to what I learned about resistance . Thank you Lewis and Mel . Lots of good tips.
So glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
Glad you like them!
Yes we want Mel Back. Thanks both of you and happy new year😘🦋🌟
This is hands down the absolute best podcast interview I have ever ever watched.
Now, I have a new book for the new year 🎉
Namaste 🙏
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to check out the interview! So glad you enjoyed it🧡
YES! This interview was pure magic! Two of my favourite speakers together, inspiring me to be the best version of myself ❤️ This was the best thing I have seen so far this year.
So glad to hear that from you, we'll keep at it! Thank you so much for watching 🧡
And yes please bring her back ! I follow her as well and learn so much
I can relate this to my entire life up until now. Some advices would help me develop my core principles towards life. Powerful!
This was perfectly timed for me as a parent of a high school senior
Great ideas and thoughts! I do think that it is important to "let them" but communicate what you need and ask how you can help them. That does not mean do for them, but help them to start on the path towards full personal development. Ask what others need rather than assume that others need your input! Great interview. I love it, my greatest Takeaway is the “love and let live” framing. I think the timing is perfect for this concept - on a worldwide level. Thank you, Mel & so much love Lewis! Please do more of these together!
Appreciate your feedback, thank you so much for watching!
I have a great deal of admiration for both of you. This came at the perfect moment for me. You both are so inspiring to me and so many others. Thank you for simply being you & doing what you do!!
Namaste, Lewis. Namaste, Mel.

I'm so glad this resonated with you!🙏
The truth is simple - simply is - Mel Robbins let-them-theory is a perfect example❣️🎯
You are in charge of your life and happiness and joy. Life is so much more real and enjoyable. Thank you!❤
Waiting for my book to arrive, but I have already felt a huge surge of my personal power by being able to detach from a situation where I couldn't win because I was being so controlling! Thank you both
Thank U Mel& Lewis😊 Most powerful life lessons 🙏
Thank you so much for your help now and forever whoever watches this at any time Will gain knowledge from what you've shared with us lady I love you❤
I was at Barnes & Noble, and someone was asking about Mel's new book. They were sold out, and had 60 copies on the way, that were also already sold❤

Thank you so much for sharing your journey! I'm so glad you're finding peace and growth.
My biggest take away is to control what you can and to never try to change a person or fix their life for them ,just LET 'EM ,and to not believe what people say pay attention to their behaviors because people will always reveal themselves.
Love this! I’m taking my power back and putting myself first without guilt💯Thank you Mel and Lewis❤

Thank you Lewis for this episode and thank you Mel for this The Let them theory
#StayBlessed n Keep Smiling u both my tk away "let people reveal who they r n let them not give u stress"👍💐
Let them then let me. Grateful for this ❤
Let them because you will see what their true intentions are.
❤❤
Love how you guys bring it to real examples and how one might communicate the “whys” and then knowing we need to “let me-s…”
Wow. Then those A, B , C s. What great insights and lessons.
Thank you Mel for taking us on your journeys. ❤ I’m glad you can enjoy and be present for this moment.
