Would an Easyrig suit your workflow?
A terrific, comprehensive, and useful review of this entire complex rig. Thanks for working through the illness to share this!
Saving back lives one easyrig at a time. These tools are great! if used properly and for their intended use.
Good luck on your journey to 25k subscribed! The first milestone of many I hope!
Thanks a lot! 100k next year! (Maybe 😀)
I'm kinda confused 😕 everyone seems to say this is a good review but from my point of view your use case is wrong. Plus in multiple shots the equipment is set up incorrectly and fitted badly. This feels like a non pilot blaming the plane he was flying for crashing.
The Easyrig isn't really meant for smooth movement - more of a camera support tool to save your back. The Serene removes most of the Z-axis bounce from walking, but it's all meant to help you out during those long shoot days. Great review! Your overall statement at the end is solid !
I really like your videos and reviews as you really are using the equipment "in the field" Top Videos keep it coming I already subscribed a while back
nice, thanks Micky!
Very insightful video and almost at 25k! 🔥
let's goooo :D
Very nice. Good review
do you recommend the dji rs2 or zhiyun crane 3s for a sonya7iii sigma 18-35 with mc11 converter?
Amazing video. very good inspirations...
have you used the easyrig since? what is your experience now with absorbing the steps when using it with ring and gimbals? I see in your video the "nose" of the "serene" pointing up, that shows that it's tension is not set properly. The tension of the "Serene" should be adjusted so that the "nose" sticks straight, like parallel to the ground, so that when you walk it has a range of movement both up and down. Don't know if I'm actually making sense/describing it well. Anyway, have you tried it with the tension adjusted correctly? And if yes, what's the result? Thank you
I just order the ring for my Ronin S. I was wondering, what kind of mount you use to hold your monitor on the ring?
Hey mate, can I please ask what you thought about the build quality of the Easyrig and would you recommend it if I enjoy using an Easyrig style setup for my work?
at 2:54 can you tell me what kind the monitor clamp thing is? Thank you
Damien what's that DJI clamp you have the monitor attached to? The one clamping onto the pipe.
How does the Digitalfoto „Easyrig“ compare to a brand Easyrig, like the minimax?
Have you ever tried it with the ronin s and if so, how was it?
I have questions.
Must be lense have VR or not
Or I'll setup ronin s + d5600 nikon + sigma art 18-35mm
Are this component fit or not
Thanks
Will this work on a ronin sc 2?
I shoot a C 70 with a DJI RS 2 on a Tilta ring. I bought an easy rig to use with that set up to help with the weight but it is terrible when you’re walking or trying to do any kind of a tracking shot. There’s too much up-and-down movement caused by the arm of the easy rig as you move.
Thanx. Very helpfull
Is this better then the stabil light arm?
is this rig so different than the sweedish one or is it better.
what ring was that with the ronin ?
PSA this is by far the best video about Gimbals, easy rig, and thoughts for people who like to shoot stuff this way. Clearing the misconceptions is so important because the products are marketed towards a lot of people who don't always need them and makes people feel like they need gear to complete themselves, gear is important to a certain extent, but really building your skills is the only thing that can make you feel satisfied! BEST video, you revealed the truth.
100% agreed! Well put 👌🏼
The thing is the authentic easyrig is supposed to let you reposition the camera height up and down. The cheaper easyrig doesn’t seem to allow for that and that makes me think it is worthless. I just bought one and I already want to return it.
The real question is, what is your handheld solution for level shifts??
Can this be used on Crane 3 Lab
You know Tilta is making a ring for the RS2 that integrates the electronics inside so you have all the controls still on your hand?
Just like the FeiyuTech ak4500 ring.
great video bro!
thanks man
Very helpful 💯
Thanks Mike
Thanks for this, alas, you're saying it is so easy to use with fake easyrig and gimbal but the b roll shows the lady DP not happy with it. You did say that her body type didnt suit it, so I still don't know how good this is. Thank for your time with this.
this ls so great... can u tell me if u were using the canon as well for your behind of scenes ...I like ur colour grading as well, thnx
Yes. It’s the AR6, graded with our luts
Hi guys! Can you tell me, what is that cold shoe clamp that attaches the monitor to the ring mount?
It’s from DJI itself
Which mount did you use to attach the external monitor?
Smallrig. Link in the description
7:14 the Serene suspension arm is upside down..
does the ring work with the pro version os the gimbal? or is only for the 3s?????
DJI rs2 now has a tilta ring with other tilta accessories even a car rig!! Pls look into that one if ur looking for a good setup for the rs2 💪🏽
Someone didn’t watch the video 😂🤨
@@damiencooper Got'EM!
Is this compatible with Weebil s??? Pls help :)
Sure. Should work if you find a way to attach it
@@damiencooper I was confused if I am going to buy the ring.. Idk how it works with Weebill S. I’m a beginner with my equipment and rig that’s why I don’t know which works.. Most of the tutorials I see is for DJI and Cranes only.
Gute Besserung
@@saschafirst dank dir ;)
I have been working in the TV industry for 25 years... the original Easyrig was invented by a Swedish cameraman, as far as I remember, just to take the strain off his back. Everything else that happens now with it is pure misappropriation, of course the product can not keep up but it was not invented for that.
Yes I believe you are correct. They still make the Easy Rigs out of some small cabin style workshop in Sweden, and several emails I had with them I was treated very rudely!
After 2 years and the 4D coming out it almost seems like unnecessary overkill at this point.
I would disagree.. I have a job on monday shooting on red with cine glass and a 1st AC. The entire shoot is gimbal and without the easy rig I would stand no chance
@@damiencooper I hear you. The 4D does solve the z axis problem with gimbals. Though in all practicality you need an easy rig with the 4D for longer shoot days for sure..
@@timdanyo898 it's more like the 4D isn't flexible enough for me and my needs
Heh -- we've all done it. Izotpe's derustle helps.
everybody is recommending this. I need to check it out ;)
@@damiencooper It's really good -- FX8 -- but watch out -- not all the plugins show up in DaVinci/Premier/FCP. There are a few (really good, like dialogue de-reverb) that only work in the stand-alone application. That can "hide" those if you're not looking for it.
@@offcenterconcepthaus good to know. I would really like to do it within final cut though. No exporting audio out, editing it and then importing it again
@@offcenterconcepthaus are there any other isotope software you recommend?
@@damiencooper Hours of fun. ;-)
切記~
I like the audio. It is a little room reverb in the audio. It’s noticeable to me because I work with audio. But I like the audio.
Really the main issue is that this product is a knock off. A lot of the problems you are talking about are eliminated when using and actual Easyrig. Though in general, it does not stabilize as much as it just relieves strain and weight. Also, you can tell from this video that she is going to pull her back out like that. She has her lower hips pushed way up in front of her, and her upper back pushed way out back, which is a sure sign that her body is trying to compensate for the poor design of the knock off. I know this because when I first started using Easyrigs, I would do the same. You have to have it low, tight on your hips, and there should be almost no pressure on your shoulders at all from the rig. Then, you have to have the bar height adjusted so that you have enough head room. Easyrigs are great if you have a heavy rig, and want to do a lot of handheld, but not tracking or running with it. Same for gimbal, though a readyrig is better as it allows for a better range of movement.
thanks for the detailed advice. I def believe you about the original being a better fit! It works well for me though. But as for the other issues.. I thought those are just a given thing. Original or not. I wouldn't know how the original would handle a level shift better to be honest
@@damiencooper Yeah you are right about the level shift. My worry is that I have heard horror stories of people using knock-offs, having the rope break, and smashing tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment onto the ground. Not worth the risk to me personally, but if it works for you that is great. Love your R5 videos, some of the best footage I've seen yet with the camera, keep it up and thank you for the content.
@@jonathanl7883 thanks a lot 😉
Well, I’m not too worried about that but I won’t be using it anymore either. Just doesn’t suit my shooting style.
I’d rather invest in a CrossFit membership 😂
