      Its a miss that the passthough isnt an option on the WT. thats who would WANT the passthrough. Work truck buyers arent going to pay 100k though.

    It doesn't look big on camera but then you said these are 24" and I was blown away. Also, that weight has really shown itself on braking. Coming to a full stop from slightly above 60 was uncomfortably long. I feel like it lacks a bit in terms of the 2 most important things - handling and speed. Neither I am a fan of those sheningans required to unlock full power in a god damn battery powered vehicle.
    Overall - thank you for showing us this one. I like it. I want one. I can't imagine how horrible would it be to drive that huge 4 ton truck here in Poland, where many local, sort of "farm" roads in the fields are limited for vehicles below 3.5 tons. Would I get one if I could regardless? Yes, I would. Honestly that is a really interesting choice for an EV in my opinion.

    At the moment I don't believe, that EV's are environmentally friendly or cost saving. They have a higher price tag, they require batteries, which are produced not in a clean way, require proper disposal at their EOL, that comes way before the EOL of the vehicle, and they weigh a lot, making EV's much heavier, thus requiring more energy to move them, which in turn calls for bigger batteries to give the vehicle any reasonable range. And after all of that they still require charging, and electricity generation is mainly source by burning gas or coal. Not counting the excess strain on electrical net and power loss in transit from powerplant to the car.
    So, thanks to PR we have ugly cars, that sound weird, weigh like a cathedral, take forever to charge, and have dubious impact on the environment.

    • @TheBowerbird
      @TheBowerbird 4 месяца назад +1

      Part of my job is estimating industrial emissions. You are wrong. EVs only have a marginally higher emission footprint for production than ICE cars, this is largely because battery materials are extremely easy to refine and are not energy intensive. The increased emissions are offset within about a year to 2 years of operation. For instance, lithium has a fraction of the greenhouse gas footprint of steel ton per ton. Proper disposal? Almost 100% of the battery can be recycled. There are already numerous companies doing this.
      As to the rest of your facebook-sourced data - nothing is correct. Even a natural gas powered turbine is vastly more efficient than an ICE car burning gasoline (which has its own catastrophic environmental footprint in production - the equivalent of a ton of gas is something like 5X the emissions of a ton of lithium - and you only need to refine the lithium once).
      EVs are vastly more efficient at turning power into motion than gas. EVs convert more than 77% of electrical energy from the grid into power at the wheels, while gasoline vehicles only convert 12-30% of gasoline's energy. EVs lose 15-20% of energy in their electric drive system, compared to 64-75% for a gasoline engine. EVs use regenerative braking to capture and reuse energy that would otherwise be lost when braking. They don't ruin the air quality of cities. They don't waste energy while idling. And on and on...

      I agree. There’s a lot of hate for removing carplay but this is the only way to push for better native mapping. Yes I’m concerned about Google data privacy but it’s far worse on my phone anyway. Native mapping can communicate with the vehicle and initiate battery conditioning, etc.

    These new EV Giganta-Trucks have to be the dumbest vehicles that have even been mass-produced. No one needs this. If you hit someone in another car, youll probably kill them no matter the speed. If you hit a pedestrian, you'll DEFINITELY kill them no matter the speed. This is so stupid it literally shoudn't be legal to sell to the general public.

    Thing is DOA, no one wants an EV. Can you imagine pulling up to a jobsite in an EV Truck? Every jobsite I've ever been on would call that guy "princess" if they had one of these on a construction job. Give me a break, just make an SUV for 28 the bored soccer mom's that will actually buy this.

      EVs are 20% of the new car market this year. Are you mad because EV trucks make vastly more power than ICE trucks and make them look weak and pathetic? This has better towing range than an F150 ICE. If you want strong and capable and not shitty and weak, get an EV. If you want weak and outdated, get an ICE.
