I want to tell youのイントロが聞こえたときどれほど感動したか。 I was here that day, and how moved I was when I heard the intro to the first song, the Beatles', and unexpected, I want to tell you. George is there! He even plays a guitar solo that is not in the original song. I thought it was going to start with the song after the solo. Oh, is this a mirage already? And the next one was "Old brown shoe, Taxman"... George is already trying to kill me, isn't he? I didn't realise Eric Clapton was there until the second guitar solo of I want to tell you started. The second floor of Osaka-jo Hall was far away and there was no screen on the stage, but I brought binoculars and was able to confirm that it was George himself singing there (of course). It's been more than 30 years, but I'll never forget this concert.
@@lornestein7248 George probably could have gotten a band together and toured the U.S. Of course he previous tour didn't go all that well for him. Indian music and stuff
It's about time that these shows were properly released. They were recorded (Devil's Radio and Cheer Down are posted). C'mon Olivia, Dhani or whoever..... They are still an essential listening/viewing part of George's musical history.
If anyone is interested I so agree that this needs to be released that I built a Facebook group to influence this to be released on DVD. Join us. "People that want the ENTIRE George Harrison Japan Concert on DVD" I've actually texted Dhani to know, and he read the post.
Clapton was on fire during this time. The version of Don't Think Twice It's Alright he performed at the Bob Dylan's anniversary show at MSG is my favorite moment in Clapton's history.
56:16 Greg Phillinganes plays Steve Winwood's intro to the Traffic song "Glad" !! @Kevin Tobin - thanks for the great audio, and the four Clapton songs that were missing from the official release. (Too bad about the shaky video and ending the tape before George rejoins the band for the rest of the concert.)
EC said in his biography that he was still in mourning over his son Conor's tragic death. He wasn't ready to return to the spotlight and book a long tour. He and George were talking that EC had his band and backup singers under contract but they were sitting idle while Eric healed. He convinced George to go to Japan to Osaka and to the Bukkan stage in Tokyo where EC had almost the same type of residency that he has at the Royal Albert Hall. The promoter and EC are good friends and the shows were sold-out in in no time. George wasn't keen on doing the concerts but he agreed with Eric that he needed to get live versions of his catalog on record and video if nothing more than for the historical value of doing it. Eric's band is top notch as we know and did a great job in putting down the tracks. Eric did not want to be "out front" and for the most part he stood in low light while the spotlight was on George. Eric had a "mini-set" of four songs and took some of the solos but deferred to George- it was his concert. The concerts revitalized EC to the point that he accepted MTV's invitation to perform on "Unplugged" using the same musicians. And as they say, the rest is history. So, the guys and the band went to Japan for a few weeks, had good Japanese food, did some sightseeing, and the money from the gigs paid for it all. Not bad.
Not the best audio and video, but still music history. George Harrison and Eric Clapton on the same stage. Too bad George passed away or there may have been more concerts like this. RIP George
The audio is priceless. Just put it on and don't watch. The Clapton solo stuff is a great bonus. Agreed that the original video should be released in it's entirety with the Clapton stuff.
Nice song rep. and best of the best in the band line up, like all my influences on one stage had Billy Preston been up there as well would have made it complete for me. but hell man I have seen better film footage of UFO"s filmed with a fuzzy lens an overcast day and a drunk guy holding the camera. Otherwise a good posting Thanks.
PEOPLE! Maybe someone will see my comment: who plays the first solo in the first song? I think it's George, but I'd like to be sure, my eyesight isn't very good :)
Kevin, I have one version by these VidEO Heaven amateurs and I would LOVE to have a copy of yours! Aside from the movement issues (VHS) it is FAR better than mine! Let me know! Can you still get this? And if not, i'lll BUY a copy from you!
Really awful recording but still better than Live in Albert Hall 1994 which is garbage. Why couldn't anyone with a decent camcorder film some of the greatest musicians including Eric Clapton? Isn't it a pity-what a shame!

I wish George had joined Eric during Eric's songs and especially Badge.
I am astounded that few have anything about two of the earth's greatest guitarists, George Harrison and Eric Clapton!
According to George, he really liked doing this concert. Shame he didn’t tour in the US again. That would be cool to see him in the 90s
I'm still furious he didn't! North America made this man a legend.. He owed us just 1 show! They were rehearsed and ready... Only Japan?
@@lornestein7248 George probably could have gotten a band together and toured the U.S. Of course he previous tour didn't go all that well for him.

@George Jacoby we want video!
If anyone is interested I so agree that this needs to be released that I built a Facebook group to influence this to be released on DVD. Join us. "People that want the ENTIRE George Harrison Japan Concert on DVD" I've actually texted Dhani to know, and he read the post.
great george , amazing show , i love george harrison
This concert is now with all of George Harrison's great music out for us to purchase! Miss his guitar tears
The sound is incredible and to have been at the concert must have been remarkable! So many greats
Clapton was on fire during this time. The version of Don't Think Twice It's Alright he performed at the Bob Dylan's anniversary show at MSG is my favorite moment in Clapton's history.
Best solo's of all time.
Agreed on Eric at the 92 Dylan show at MSG...countless jaws hit the floor in that room during that song - including mine! - He was transcendent -
That show was the place to be.
Jeff Adelman to add to that, I think his solo on “My Back Pages” that night was the most fluid solo I’ve ever seen anyone do!
Oh. Don't ask me. The best performance he ever did... And also, it's the first time I heard him playing blues in F
This is fantastic thank you Ah George miss you...

more importantly and a better show was the Albert Hall show in 1992. That was the best George has ever been
Dayum! That guitar solo from EC on Pretending is smokin'!
Thank you wonderful video, Thank you ,indeed !
from Osaka Japan.

Great! Thanks for sharing!!!
I was there.
Great audio on this. Love the little verse flub at the beginning. No concert or performance is perfect.
Not the best audio and video, but still music history.
George Harrison and Eric Clapton on the same stage.
Too bad George passed away or there may have been more concerts like this.
RIP George
Harrison e Clepton uma dupla inconfundível
Give Me Peace On Earth. Great.
I’m a Japanese high student.
I really want to see living Harrison😭
I WAS THERE AT OSAKA 1991
O melhor Show do mundo
If this could be '"steadied"and sharpened up a bit, this could be a great bootleg! Audio is damn good.
Somewhere in the vault someone recorded this professionally. I see clear photos of this concert
man Clapton is not messing around he made George do the concerts
oh mah god
As far as a video goes, this is a great audio :/
Couldn't you keep the camera steady didn't you lol.....
The audio is priceless. Just put it on and don't watch. The Clapton solo stuff is a great bonus. Agreed that the original video should be released in it's entirety with the Clapton stuff.
Still does the "Beatle bows" after each song. Thanks to Brian Epstein for that.
Great audio! It's a shame the official video isn't released on DVD format

give us quality video! I don't believe that this was not shot in q - especially in Japan
One word: ..................................tripod!
This was 1991 and very few had camcorders back then. How do you sneak a tripod into a show let alone a 30 pound camera? Lol
I miss Knopfler's lead fills in Badge
Sounds like there are about 12 people in the audience.

Of course, I realize that I said nothing of consequence either. I cannot write a tome within time constraints.
Sorry, but the camera bouncing around is spoiling it for me :(
People didn't know how to act with camcorders back then.
yea that guy is right where a quality dvd why don't they release it

Don't upload videos like this, I don't know what you're taking.
Nice try!
Perfectly horrible couldn't get more than two minutes into it before shutting it off. Could not have been worse.
Woukd be better without organist
