Such a sad story. At least she realised that George was a better husband than Eric but the whole story is dreadful. Those crazy psychedelic drug/drink fuelled sixties/seventies have got a lot to answer for.
George was only incrementally a better husband. A spouse constantly cheating is no picnic to live with. He's addicted to variety and is not going to stop until he's dead. This is the demoralizing downside of involvement with a rich, famous, desirable man, and no woman is ever prepared for this aspect of daily life with such a man.
Fools alright! Patti just wanted to be a good wife with strong hopes to become a mother. Could it be karma? - Eric’s son passes away tragically & George is stabbed in the chest by an intruder in 1999, then dies (of cancer) in 2001. hmmm 🤔 So glad Patti has found happiness and a good life for herself ❤

When ever I have a friend or relative who is in a bad relationship, I always give them this quote by Maya Angelou. "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." Everyone needs to be taught this from an early age. Don't spend the best part of your life trying to fix a broken person. Go have a good life. I have read Patty's books and seen her do some interviews. Isn't it amazing how when she left this rotten men, (rich men) They didn't make sure she had money and a place to live. I hope she has has lots of happiness now. Everyone deserves to be happy.

And, us girls thought she was so lucky! How hurtful they both were to her. I want to give her a hug. Having been used and abused by narcissistic men, I can relate.

I don't know him him personally. But I always assumed George was the more down to earth Beatle. It's also sad if Eric turned out to not be who she thought he was after begging her to go with him.
YES!.. narcissistic misogynistic men... all the damage they do! the pain and the Soros the time they have stolen. It will catch up to them karma is a b****... in this life or the next.
😂 it does seem rather excess in the emotional pain department. I suppose I figured George was always womanizing, but that was definitely true, and that would be very hard to deal with for Patti. 😢
What a strong woman she is. So much pain. I wish I knew how she was able to move beyond that. I don’t know how she forgave such deep and painful betrayals. Amazing woman.
I don't know that she was particularly "strong" staying round men who cheated on her, and humiliated her. She should have followed Jane Asher's example, but I don't think Pattie's early life gave her the self confidence and self worth that Asher had. She doesn't seem to have had the support of her family like Asher enjoyed, and of course Asher had a career as well to fall back on, while I believe George discouraged Pattie's modelling.
@@michelez715 You assume what I mean when I describe her as “strong”. She is, in my opinion, strong in the context of her ability to forgive, as it relates to human relationships; not as it relates to moving on in the midst of drug abuse and being successful in a career, although those are admirable choices as well. I just think the capacity to forgive that deeply is something I couldn’t do myself and which I greatly admire. I wish i could be like her in that respect. I live near Hollywood, and that business doesn’t impress me.

I can’t understand how anyone would repeatedly put up with so much betrayal. Pattie’s youth was wasted on men who didn’t deserve her. Jane Asher showed how betrayal should be treated. All’s well that ended well though. She found someone worthy of her in the end.
@@savannahsmiles1797 according to the timeline for that possibility, Jane kept up the ruse for a little while but was aware her Paul had died. The breakup was inevitable but she was gracious enough to not time it too closely to Paul's passing. Billy Shears (William Shepherd) was then free to publicly marry the woman he had met and fallen in love with, Linda. Personally, if this is how it all went down, I don't think Billy is the bad guy, as wonderful as Paul was. Billy Shears has given us a lot of great music. But I don't know what to really believe at this point. I can see either (just a crazy conspiracy theory or the greatest switcheroo EVER) as being possible. There sure are a lot of people comfortable with addressing Sir Paul McCartney as "Billy."
I am stunned at how George treated Patty. Also, George and Maureen Starr? WOW ! Talk about betrayal. I read that when Patty was Finally finished with Eric, Patty had no money. That is when George paid Patty's rent for an apartment as long as she lived there. That is the least he could have done for her. I am glad Patty is finally doing well. I read that Patty attended Connor"s funeral. I also read that Eric said in an interview that as soon as Eric had Patty, he did not want her anymore. It was the pursuit that fed his feelings for Patty.
What a rude hostile thing for Eric to say in an interview. I’m just guessing that he didn’t feel confident that she’d stay with him once she really knew him and wanted to be the one to leave first.
The fact that he only married her to win a bet says it all! What a jerk. And what a jerk George was to cheat with Ringo's wife! My opion of George and Eric has changed. Especially Eric! I recently read where Eric had Jimmy Hendricks join him on stage and left in a rage and outside the venue he screamed at the person who set it up that he didn't know Jimmy was THAT GOOD. Talk about insecurities.! He got her when she was depressed over how George was treating her and then threw her away. She should get royalties from the songs she inspired!
This was very enlightening. I had no idea exactly what Pattie went through. I am glad she grew into a stronger individual and left those two men behind.
She has such a beautiful speaking voice, very soothing and calm. A lot like George ironically. So sad hearing how badly they treated her yet their songs are so soulful.
I was always fascinated by Pattie after a friend of mine introduced me to Eric Claptons' music, and I learned of the story of the love triangle. I'm glad Pattie has found happiness at long last.
There's "love" that's really just physical attraction and lust, and there's LOVE which is truly caring about each other on every level. THAT kind of love seems to naturally desire commitment and fidelity. A pure, unselfish love IS the most powerful force in existence.

The problem is Jesus Christ was not a thought in their lives. The Beatles mocked The Lord Jesus Christ. They were into cults ,drugs and immorality. No good can come of that.
@Bradydog-in7ut She was much more discreet during her marriage to George as no Beatle would've wanted THAT in the news. But Ronnie Wood wrote about wife swapping with George several times at the mansion (Friar Park) in his book "Wood". It wasn't a one-time thing. When George was becoming unnattentive to Pattie he would stay home (his preference) and she would go out clubbing/dancing.
Left out of the video was the fact that when Patty divorced Eric, she could not find a lawyer who wasn't in awe of Eric leaving her to pretty much fend for herself financially. Today, there would be tons of lawyers willing to take him to the cleaners!!
That was Jim Gordon, Eric’s drummer who pinched it from her. Eric and Tom Dowd didn’t want it in and Bobby Whitlock their keyboardist didn’t play it,the drummer Jim Gordon did
It will forever surprise me that people, men and or women, will take abuse or discontent from a person that professes to love them. It honestly makes no sense yet as a young woman I e done it too. I’m older now and consider marriage a game to most. Life isn’t meant to be “work” and we should only be with people that treat us and themselves with respect and appreciation. Why settle for less? And woman, find your own talents, skills, and careers without needing men for emotional and financial support. Ladies give up too much of themselves for men and it’s not reciprocated in most cases. My opinions
I so agree. I've had some dreadful relationships where I've hung on for far too long. The last one was with someone who had some narcissistic tendencies which left me with low self esteem for several years. I had always thought that George Harrison was a shy and lovely man. Lately I found out so much about him making me believe he was a gifted musician but a not very clever egomaniac. We all heard about the rotten lifestyle Erich Clapton had. It is amazing that he is still alive and has sobered up. This story prooves that does not matter how beautiful, intelligent and talented a person is, if your self esteem is to low you will be treated like shit. That has happened to me as well for nearly twenty years. Now fourty years later I can only shake my head remembering things I did swallow from others, mainly women.

George and Eric were 2 guys that just went from one woman to another .I doubt they were ever in love with anyone but themselves. I think Paul and Ringo may have found true love with Linda and Barbara. Patty had 3 good songs written about her but the feelings behind these songs were very temporary and quickly gone.
Those three songs, I feel, she would gladly give back in exchange for the children she wanted but couldn't have. While, of course, Eric had a least two children with different women during their marriage.

Much unlike many people, I have never seen clapton as being among the greatest of musicians, singers, songwriters. Good, yes. He can play. But he just never seems to be able to deliver the 'feel', the 'soul' of the music. When he copped the great songs of Bob Marley and J.J. Cale, he understood the total 'cool' and bluesy depth of their abilities and tried to copy it. But he never could measure up to what they brought to music. That said, I never had any idea that these guitarists, all at the top of the rock pyramid, passed around and scrounged either others wives like snagging a cigarette out of the next guy's pack! When I only hear one side of a story, I automatically discount it's validity by 50% until I hear the other side too. But even at that, much as I am still in awe at the musicianship that most of these guys achieved, I can now only muster a tiny fraction of respect for them - 'rock-n-roll lifestyle and all that" aside.
@hayguugle8656 Clapton most certainly could deliver the "soul" of music when he was with Cream. He never quite measured up to that level again. However is great but that aside, he is an asshole of a husband and George Harrison wasn't any better.

Team: Pattie! She was so young when she entered that scene and endured so much. Like many others, I’m so happy for her that she is now is a loving marriage with a good man.
I think Jane Asher was the most beautiful of the Beatles' women and she had smarts and self esteem (came from a loving and supportive family). Cynthia Lennon was beautiful, too.
Don't feel sorry for her. This was the life she wanted. These women marry these guys because of their wealth and fame. If they wanted a normal life they could have married a regular dude. But they didnt.

I remember when I first heard about Eric Clampton being in crazy-love with the wife of George Harrison, I thought: "Dang! That woman must really be something to attract the adoration of two rock super-star hotties like that! I wonder what she's all about?" After reading "Wonderful Tonight" I concluded that this woman - Pattie Boyd - was anything but happy in her relationships with these guys who were too self-centered, addicted and preoccupied to be in a healthy, happy romantic relationship. Maybe, too, she was too much of a doormat

I had the opportunity to meet her during one of her tours. She was very gracious and and signed some of her photos with George that she had taken. She is a class act, and deserved better from two great musicians that married her, than treated her like trash. She deserves better, and I believe her current husband gives her the love and respect she deserves. Her book is also illuminating on her life. Her charm exuded happiness. She is still beautiful.
Wow. That was amazing ! I never knew how hard Patty's life was. I had the impression that she just bed hopped from George to Eric, not so. A lot of heart ache for her, I'm glad she is happy now. What a legend she is ! ❤

That's actually nice to hear. Thank you for this.

I can’t understand how anyone would repeatedly put up with so much betrayal. Pattie’s youth was wasted on men who didn’t deserve her. Jane Asher showed how betrayal should be treated. All’s well that ended well though. She found someone worthy of her in the end.
I want to know if Jane left Paul or Faul.
@@savannahsmiles1797 according to the timeline for that possibility, Jane kept up the ruse for a little while but was aware her Paul had died.

But Ronnie Wood wrote about wife swapping with George several times at the mansion (Friar Park) in his book "Wood". It wasn't a one-time thing. When George was becoming unnattentive to Pattie he would stay home (his preference) and she would go out clubbing/dancing.

I’m so sorry she allowed herself to be abused like this. Lovely lady.
I really believe she couldn't help it. Lack of self esteem is a true bitch.
That she allowed herself to be abused like that …you’ve clearly never been in a physically violent relationship and I am so happy that you have not. That just struck me as a bit hurtful- we deal with A LOT IF SHAME AND GUILT AND SELFBLAME. For their behavior, for us not leaving fast enough, for not being smart enough- just keep that in mind in the future when discussing this. We really beat ourselves up emotionally inside about it. It’s a cycle. They break you down slowly, and over time. Tiny boundary crosses, slightly larger. More frequent …the love bomb love bombs loooovvvee bomb best ever- then they go in for the first big cross. And and are shocked. You can’t believe it. You think they can change. That they will. They tell you they will. It’s insane. I don’t wish it on anyone.
@@alexpriedite1447 we cannot judge what was happening then with our to-day eyes. It was then trendy and courageous to disobey the traditional morale. Fidelity was something from dark ages that had to be trampled upon. One had to be living in the early 70's to understand that this was not meant to be abusive but bold in a way. I didn't read the book, but if she's using the new bigot standards of to-day to lament on her life in the early 70's it is not fair. I'm not saying infidelity is right, I'm just saying it wasn't experienced with the same angle just after the hippy movement.
I read Patty's autobiography and it was fascinating. George definitely checked out which allowed Eric to swoop in. I know it was the swingin 60's but she wasn't treated very well. She also writes about great experiences and traveling with the Beatles. She speaks very highly of Mick Jagger. Not so much of John Lennon. Loved her book. Imagine having all so many songs written about you
She was the inspiration for some of the world's most iconic music.
All these “peace and love” sixties rock icons are such monsters, in real life. Amazing story.
A good friend of mine who plays drums in a band was super excited to meet Patty at a book signing, and have her picture taken together.
I met Lennon’s old girl friend in NYC, May Pang. Super nice. She was used and tossed away like a Kleenex, from one day to the next!
All these flower power generation guys abuse the heck out of their wives, other people’s wives, girlfriends, kids. But hey, peace and Love…
Narcissists can do no wrong!
agreed. Deified for writing pop songs, but all had the morals of alley cats.
drugs/alcohol, big egos
So true, the whole "hippie culture" was a lot about hedonism wrapped in delusions of peace & love.
Great songwriters and musicians but not so great men. At least when they finally grew up and cleaned up they became better people. George remained friends with Patti until he died.
To understand the rock and roll lifestyle watch almost famous!
Eric and George were immersed in it from an early age! When women were throwing themselves at them, they really looked at women as sexual commodities, as easy to get as the drugs and alcohol the used to excess. Eric was socially immature and awkward not someone a woman normally want to have a relationship with. George seems self absorbed.
Own the book. Love Pattie. One of the most important and influencial people of 1960s. Rock on, Pattie.🌻
😂😂😂 an influential bike
WOW. Of course, I realize simple, bitter people will never fail to provide simple, bitter comments but I'm betting your a special brand altogether. Have a nice day. Somewhere else.🤪
Influencial? 😂😂😂
@@concal59 Yes, kids. Influential. Influential as a model in the 60s who inspired designers on Carnaby St/Kings Road. Influential to Beatles by helping to introduce teachings of Maharaja which lead to that influence on more great music. Influential enough to husband George
Harrison to inspire him to write "Something." One of the world's most beautiful and most "covered" songs. Influential enough to second husband Eric Clapton to cause him to write rock classics "Layla", "Wonderful Tonight", and many more. Two rock icons who took inspiration and influence from the love of Pattie. Influential to American women like me who took her example of strength to heart. Thanks, Pattie, for influencing life, fashion, spirituality, art and music.🥀
P.S. Have you dears actually READ the book?
Have you read A book? 😳
What’s the book??
Im glad that she finally found someone who really cares and love her.Poor Patty having to go through so much hurt and disappointment.
Aaah the free love era. We all thought we were having so much fun. Now that we look back on it, it wasn’t that much fun. It takes a toll on what it means to be being truly loved and independent. Glad those days are over and back to being a respectable person.
I missed this by a couple decades, but what I gained from the history of this era from first hand recollections, is that it was a terrible set of ideals, which seems extremely obvious.
It seems like a lot of this hippie junk has returned recently with blue hair and the same type of insanely myopic perspective.
Kids will be kids I guess. I just hope they stay off my lawn.
That's the problem with idealizing human beings. We are all flawed and we all have things in our lives that we would not want exposed to the world. Fortuneately, most of us don't live in a fishbowl. However, once you mix alcohol and drugs in with relationships and live a party lifestyle, it's easy to lose focus and priorities. Yes, you can be enormously talented and still be a jerk at times. Never place any person on a pedestal once you do, you are primed for disappointment.
Fucking A 👏👌👍
I greatly appreciate your article. I knew a little about Patty, George and Eric but no details. This is insightful .
Girls learn a lesson from patty and stop looking for knights . Most men pretty much like the hunt untill they win the prey. I wish Patty had known Eric was just a player and and not have gotten swayed by his deceitful charm. I am glad she found happiness in the end.
Thank you
Wow. So sad to see clearly now that none of them had any sort of concept of healthy personal boundaries. They never had a chance to be able to learn them anywhere 💔
This video is very well presented with amazing pictures I have never seen❤
I'm glad you like it!
Great artists don't always = great character
Very rarely, in fact.
Read her book years ago and yes as soon as he was into the meditation it took over his life, she was invisible!
For anyone who wants to read more about Pattie and George and Eric..A friend of hers and the Beatles also wrote a book. She lived with Patti and George for awhile too. Her name is Chris O'Dell. The book is: Miss O'Dell: My Hard Days and Long Nights with the Beatles, the Stones, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and the Women They Loved.
It''s a pretty good book and kind of fills in the gaps a little more than what was in Patti's book. Goodread's website has the description of the book on there
I really, really ADMIRE THIS LADY! Bless her. We're fortunate to have her honesty about those times ! ! ❤
@sylviaelizabethclarecholic2073. She hasn't been 100% honest about those times. She has selective memory and only discloses "just enough" to keep things vague but generate interest. Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones) revealed much more about his repeated flings with Pattie (while she was married to George) in his book "Ronnie". Ronnie was also friends with Clapton and would holiday with them in their house in the Bahamas. Pattie has maintained a very cozy friendship with Ronnie Wood.
@@rbee1804 well, a lady has a right to a bit of mystery......
There is someone else who was married to a Beatle who has not been candid, at all......
🤔🤔🤔
I really enjoyed this. I love learning about all sorts of different people, discovering what happened to them throughout their lives, experiences that formed them to become the people that they are today. I came across an article in my feed, about Patti, which led me to this video. It was extremely well done in every way. Thank you to whomever was behind the production of this.
You’re welcome 🙏 glad you enjoyed it!
Oh God! What a STORY. THANK you So Much for publishing this. I appreciate it in Extreme. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
This needs to be a feature film, it’s Oscar material! I just feel sorry for the George and Eric fans … 🥺
Good idea 👍
WHY?
Why? I’m a fan because of Harrison’s music. Nothing in this story changes that. I also hear a zillion situations where I’d have left to never return to the man who treated me like garbage. I don’t understand why she kept going back.
@@joanne1114
Olivia Harrison once said in an interview that the way to stay married is "to never get divorced"...and when the interviewer described Olivia as being lucky to be with George Harrison, Olivia swiftly replied, "George was lucky to be with me." ... Olivia gave George a son, Dhani, and Dhani meant the world to George. Olivia was the woman who stayed married to George, so obviously strong enough to put up with or deal with George's shenanigans and Dhani had a good Dad in George.
Patti wasn't up to Olivia's ethos re marriage or she wouldn't have fallen for Eric. I feel sorry for fans who may feel let down by their idol's personal "failures" but the music they produced - both George and Eric were / are great musicians, songwriters, and had issues, yes, but people are seldom perfect. Some of us find happiness with others, some, sadly do not. (I married twice and was divorced twice, sadly, but there you go, I was one of the unlucky ones. I hope others are more successful than me, or Patti Boyd, or Cynthia Lennon).
Your sympathies are misplaced. It is the women who each committed to marriage to a misogynistic, self-absorbed, and addicted man.
So glad she's doing well and is happy now. I can relate with heartbreak in relationships when I was young, but she had such a colossal amount of it...
Goodness...she is a strong woman. So much heartache it seems in her life. Glad she has found some happiness.
Strong? She's the definition of a doormat!
Strong? Really? Hmm
A little bit scary seeing how the hugely influential doyens of the Hippy Era lived their own failed lives. Great Video mate, well done!!
Appreciate that, Glad you enjoyed it!
What a mess! Patti did not deserve any of that. Bless you dear.
Musicians. Never fall for them.
Its not just musicians
@@MM-qp4pd You're right. Movie stars and politicians, too.
Yeah! I had my own experience. But artists too! My husband had a real job when I married him, then later decided to be a full time landscape artist! I was gaslit and controlled by both.
Exactly but you broads keep falling for them and same with actors 🤦♂️ just stay away from those involved with the entertainment industry full stop ✋️
Artists in general. Most are narcissists with big egos.
I don’t usually read celebrity autobiographies but I'm glad I read this one. It was eye-opening to say the least. I roll my eyes now when I hear "Tears In Heaven," which is a shame because it's a lovely song, but when you know the whole story about Clapton and his total non-relationship with his little son ...
And the daughter he never mentioned.
I have always believed that Eric had that kid sacrificed
@@BeautifulDove-i7u Wow, can you say more about that?
Me too! Have to do it to stay famous.
Just because they may be great artist, doesn't mean they are great humans!
I read a book about this trio many years ago. I have admired Pattie ever since. Although the book was insightful this blog explains so much more. I can fully understand how lack of self esteem and confidence can lead to wrong life changing choices. God Bess Pattie 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I’m so glad she had found herself and is happy 😃
You are forgetting this was a very glamorous life and might be hard to break out of...so much attention, the songs, the wealth
Since I first saw Patti Boyd when i was a 13 year old Beatles fan in Hard Days Night, i wished I could look like her and live her life! She deserved so much more and many women, including me, learn life can be much crueler than we can imagine.
@@yesterdayproductions1019
I might be inclined to agree with you were it not for the fact that there wasn't a single Cream song that I liked. 🙂
I don't disparage their musicianship. But their music/sound just never grabbed me. Never liked it. So that period doesn't help his cause in my book.
Have fun. 😀
Rich and famous people's problems. Money can't buy you happiness. I'll live modestly with peace.
I’ll love rich and happy.
Glad to hear the true story, all I had ever heard about her was that she had left George for Eric. Ofcourse, their was much more to this story, now I know how disgusting n disrespectful both these men were with her. Pleased to learn she eventually got away from both of them n found herself again. Glad to hear she found happiness with a real man n a good life. 😁✌🏼
Good for her , such a beautiful woman , inside and out
As George was my fave Beatle, Patti was my idol. I followed her make-up and hair care info in 16 magazine. I was shocked when she left George for Eric. Of course, I didn’t know any of this!! I too have been married twice, both times to musicians. I can soooo relate to her story, and I’m so happy that her life ended up with happiness. I miss George a lot, but his autobiography on HBO opened my eyes to some of his darker side. God bless you Patti! You’re still an awesome lady!
Men get bored and cheat even when you're beautiful and intelligent.
We all have our crosses to bear!I married my high school sweet heart but day of wedding he tells me he doesn't want to go thru with it.I couldn't believe it & said all my relatives traveled to be here etc.I finally said ok we can get it anulled. After word he is cold but I don't leave & he doesn't either 8 yrs later I find out all his secrets having sex with my girl friends & teens. Its never been boring after I left He died at 26
You are right.Beauty has very little to do with it.Raquel Welch's husband was asked what it was like to be married to such a beautiful woman. He replied after a little while she looks like the average woman.
Fact.
dont speak on men, you sound stupid when you group people together
Women chase men with money or fame
Insane rock & roll soap opera. I feel so bad for her ordeal with these guys. I hope Clapton reads her book and feels ashamed and makes amends.
Sabes cuándo sacó el libro ??
This is my era it was a heady time. I too mixed with musicians and had friends who were with Deep Purple Man Guillan, girls threw themselves at muscians. Not me I had a obsession for horses than goodness ,, still got horses 🙏💗
Wow!! Who in the world would ever want to live like that? Patti was treated horribly.
Team: Pattie! She was so young when she entered that scene and endured so much. Like many others, I’m so happy for her that she is now is a loving marriage with a good man.
That poor beautiful woman. I always thought Patti was breathtaking beautiful
But look at all the Makeup it took for her to look like that.
If you need that much makeup, maybe you should tear down the barn and rebuild it using new materials 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂

💯
she thought her fame and beauty would keep them
The best men are the ordinary ones.
@jeank8061 Don't blame Pattie Boyd for the bad behaviors of George Harrison and Eric Clapton.
Who's Eric Clampton? Two of you are referring to him!
Society is full of people who have no loyalty or decency towards one another. I try to treat people how I'd like to be treated in all aspects of my life. I can't wrap my head around all the deception going on here between these so-called friends and band mates.
What a lovely trusting lady Patti was, yes, I too am thankful for a normal life
Wonderful tonight was a pleasant read. Many entertaining stories from behind the scenes
Im disappointed George was such a cheat…these men with their ridiculous egos. Sad to realize he was such a narcissist.
Maybe narcissism is a requirement for the job.
Not only Pattie but Ringo, one of his best friends. His family was destroyed.
Didn't know he was screwing Ringos wife too. Maybe why John got yoko. Nobody wanted her. Lol
It was sex, drugs, & rock and roll. All the rich musicians and movie stars were living this way. Women were seen differently like stay home and be a house wife
There are just as many narcissistic women out there that will use you, then devalue and discard you for another guy. Ask me how I know.
Narcissistic, even sadistic men.😕
I met her too, and she was a doll. Super sweet and gracious.
Kind of pathetic. All of them. Nothing to do with love.
Nothing to do period, complete hedonism in those days
George is forever precious and with that smile. ❤
