The ultimate beater muscle car THE "JENKO" NOVA

  • The full build of our 1972 chevy nova junk yard rescue Yenko tribute. We call this project the "Jenko" due to its cheap nature budget minded revival build and the ratty yenko stripe we painted on it. This ratty Nova muscle car project was built to prove that you dont need deep pockets to get together with your friends and family, slap a car together with used junk parts and hit the streets and enjoy it! This daily driver themed hot rod is the most enjoyable car in the fleet and we take it everywhere.

Very interesting build! I did something similar way back when with a 62 Plymouth Sport Fury 2 door. I bought the car for $300.00 WITH a 440 4V, Cable operated 727, and a 3.91 posi. (The guy HAD to sell it NOW) I did; 6 point roll cage, welded in sub frame connectors, gutted doors, windows and quarter windows, etc... Competition valve job, minor porting, Direct Connection 2.84-4.84 Hemi Grind Cam & Lifters. some modified street headers...Weiand open plenum intake, 850 Holley carb. Still remember my first pass down Detroit Dragway with that car....

Purrrrrrrr… LOVE IT! Plus now with a manual trans it’s like icing on that cake! My to be Last Nova project update, looked at one today. Does poking the frame and going through it up to one’s wrist make for enough fun? Ok if not the the entire floor had fifteen license plates, a stop sign and two one way signs screwed into it. Funny how that didn’t scare me off. The $2600.00 he wanted for it gave me one helluva good laugh tho. Told him to take a deep breath and hold it till I come back again… I have a 73 lined up for a looksie next Saturday. To say I’m highly motivated is putting it mildly, I’m looking hard but not stupid. I’ll find the right one, it’ll happen😉✌🏼Keep up the great work brother!

Do it! You will have a blast doing it! One of the most runs cars I’ve done and it was dirt cheap and is super reliable

This makes me cherish the memory of the car I miss the most. Back in 1977 when I was 21 I had a blue 1973 Nova with 34,000 miles that I absolutely loved. Wasn't fast due to a stock 307 but it was a very pretty car that got what seemed like daily comments on what a good loooking car it was even with the stock bench seat and carpet delete. The bench seat meant my girl would scoot over beside me without a console seperating us. Bought a new set of Cragar SS wheels with G60 tires in the rear and Hi-Jacker air shocks. That gave it the classic 70's rake I wanted. Man it was gorgeous!
    Good luck on your Nova!

Just stumbled onto your page. Watched this build and the green one. Love it because it’s very real world- young and raising a family while still trying to pursue your hobby. I went to high school way back in the 80’s😂 and these are the kind of rides we used to throw together all the time. You’re very smart in the way that you get these projects running and driving right away because it keeps you motivated as well as it shows mama that they aren’t just junk therefore she will stay supportive. And when mama is happy, the whole house is happy!

I really like your videos looking forward to see how far the nova comes. I was begging during the boneyard video for you to take that Brown Ventura u used as the thumbnail. But that tour was literally fascinating for me.

Thanks chad! Glad you enjoy my videos man I have a blast making them. If that yard was closer to me I definitely would’ve been trying to drag some stuff home lol. Those cars are far more solid then anything I have started with on the east coast.
