I'm old school I'm 62 I have a 74 now my first car was a74 I have owned 4 no as in my lifetime you have done a great job people don't understand what it takes to bring back these old cars back I've done Los of work on all of my noves but never tore one completely down like you have done here again super good job thanks for the video
Nice job, believe it or not I think that car was not in to bad of shape compared to a lot I have seen. I have owned a 72 Nova since 1984. Bought it for original owner. I installed a big block in 87. I also painted it in garage in pieces in 87. Still has that paint job on it and still looks good for Cruise nights.
I’ve got a 72’ going thru the same process but I ended up disabled a number of yrs and should get started again by spring,it’s frame off as well but this is great to see.I did get most of the important and costly parts early on.1st two cars were 67&68 RS/SS camaro’s.$1200 each but that won’t happen again so it’s back to the nova.very nice work
I used that same gauge bezel on my nova build!!! Alot cheaper than the plastic autometer pod that you can't find resonably priced gauges to fit.......I painted mine in the garage too
That Nova was I'm good shape. My pops 73 had plywood flooring in the back because the floor boards were GONE! Itwas cool as kid lifting them up and seeing the street while driving though. That is how Nova's rust out 4 real tho. You really got lucky with yours.
Very nice work. That turned out to be one sweet diamond in the rough. I can never understand why some people have to give thumbs down on certain videos. 6 thumbs down on this baffles me...I'd love to know how they came to that decision. Anyway great job man from one 3rd Gen owner to another!!
Very nice Job, personally I would have painted it the original green color. It's a unique color now because noone ever paints their Nova that color and if I'm not mistaken the Frost Green was a Nova only color from 69-74.
Great work! Appreciate you sharing. Just got a 72 Nova that I will drag out to CA to start working on next month. May pick your brain when I get started if you don't mind? Beautiful build!
Oh I believe you! Those cars are rough. This had rotted floorboard, rotted front and rear window sills, rotted quarters. This car had tons of cancer rust I had to repair. But it had good bones to start with.
@@Shift6TV Looks incredible. Yeah upon watching further you still def had some metal work to do there. Those are the project cars I wish for but my Lemans was in the family (and also sitting under a tree outdoors in the rain) for 30 years so I didn't have much of a choice besides letting her end up getting junked, which wasn't much of a choice at all ;)
Very nice. Couldn't hear the audio and then when turning up then your music is super loud. Gotta level the voice and music to the same level. Just a heads up. Cool car though.
Nice work car looks good just two things it needs a set cragers and did not cover up anything in your garage you now have over spray on every thing in your garage.
@@Shift6TV Also, congratulations on how you handled the few negative comments. I own a Gen 3 that needed far less work than your Nova, which I did myself. You have nothing to be ashamed of.
Where did you get the interior parts for it? I've got a '71 Ventura II thats in much better condition but I'd like to convert the green to a black interior, and a lot of the old parts such as the dash are torn anyway Mostly asking about the dash pad, inner door panels and pad, rear seat cover, carpet, headliner, arm rests, and rear deck.
I have a 71 that I’m building it had no floors or rear suspension when I got it the guy said it had been sitting on the ground for the last 15 years like that.
Hey Great build. Where did you get the new floors? And did you patch weld them or just replace the whole floor? My Nova has the same exact holes in the driver side as yours did. Thx for sharing!
Hey thanks! Yes i did just the floor trays. I bought all 4 of them off of eBay actually. Price wasn’t too bad either. Most of the time that’s all you need to replace is that.
@@Shift6TV i see. Thx for the advice! I see on submit you can buy the whole floor for about $300. I think it may be worth it but somebody wanted $800 just to weld the floor in and I thought that was way too much. I need to call around.
@@williamstamper442 How, exactly, do you bring "said metal" back.......when it no longer exists? If there's a better way to do that, than what we saw in this restoration..... we're all ears.
@brandon benavidez, Thanks i appreciate it! I did 20’s in the rear, and 18’s in the front.
