    🤣Mr. Poopie Eye auto-corrected your Chicano Spanish.🤣That was awesome.
    Great interview, can't wait to buy the book. I like this guy. I hardly ever meet fellow contrary, camera-shy, potty-mouthed atheists and I truly love it. He used one of my favorite expressions too, "Adapt or die."
    It's funny how many of us found Billy and other Old West history from Young Guns, and yet are in constant search of his truth. Mr. Estevez inspired so many young lives to completely change direction in a positive way. Honestly I think my early obsession with BtK was when I started thinking for myself, and finding out that it was okay to go my own way. It changed my entire trajectory. I honestly think I'm still alive due to Billy's accidental influence.

    I'm thinking that these visits from Mr. Mills with Cardi K should come under the heading of "The James Gang Sessions." I'll consider this Part II of same. Great show and excellent questions from the members as well as the host. My thanks to James B. Mills for his support of the channel and the Coalition by making the time for this. Always a pleasure to hear his take on things. I've just received a copy of his book today ("what took me so long?") and will be reading it soon, and looking forward to seeing his next one. Printed on paper, with a cover.

    James has done an awesome job putting TE in front of younger, modern audiences and entertaining them with historical nuggets, instead of boring them with text heavy b/w blah.

    Good stuff, guys. Important, too. These magazines need to adapt if they don't want to go the way of the telegraph.
    On a personal note, I dropped James' 10-pound book on my foot and I consider his cat a warrior for karmic justice.

    Hi guys from "Downunder", on the anniversary of the killing of Sheriff Brady. I am a huge Billy the Kid fan and I have over 40 books about him including Fulton, Nolan Mills, Sederwall, and others both good and not so good. After reading these books and seeing some great research and accuracy compared compiled to some of the early books that were written.
    As for Australians and American Wild west interests. I personally have had an interest in the "Wild West since I was a boy. A small population here have an interest particularly from the Rural areas here. We have had our own wild west to a degree with our Australian Bushrangers, who were known for robbing banks stagecoaches etc. Our most famous, being Ned Kelly who was hanged in November 1880, for killing three Lawmen who the late Robert M Utley wrote a comparison book about him and Billy the kid after he visited Victoria, Australia and went to the historic areas. Ned was a few years older than "Billy the Kid" being 25 years old when he was Hanged but like Billy, was of Irish Descent that was persecuted by a corrupt group. not unlike the "Santa Fe Ring".
    Yes, We Australians swear allot but we also call things out as we see it and are very straight shooters. We don't put up with Bull*(*#$ and will call it as we see it.
    Keep up the great work "dudes" The Coalition is a great organisation.

    Question for the Cardigan Kid or anyone...In Mills book, BTK: El Bandido Simpatico, James Mills states that Charlie Bowdre married Manuela Herrera when she was 12 years old. I didn't find a contemporary source for that in the book, or perhaps I missed it..What is the source for Charlie Bowdre marrying Manuela Herrera when she was 12 years old ?....thanks in advance.

    • @chasingbilly
      @chasingbilly  6 месяцев назад +3

      Eddie Lanham and company have done some really good research recently putting forth the possibility that Bowdre did not marry Manuela Herrera but rather a woman named Manuela Gonzales. I look forward to reading their findings. Thanks! - Cardi K

    • @shyjames83
      @shyjames83 6 месяцев назад +2

      Census records reveal Manuela's approximate age at the time of their wedding. Keep in mind, grown men marrying 12 year old girls, while appalling to us today, was not out of step in frontier times.

    • @robertbuckley3833
      @robertbuckley3833 6 месяцев назад +4

      @shyjames83 Manuela Herrera was 14 years old in 1880. Charlie Bowdre's wife Manuela was 25 years old in 1880(according to the 1880 census).Charlie Bowdre was never married to Manuela Herrera....The woman in the blood stained photo with Charlie Bowdre was Manuela Gonzales, not Manuela Herrera. ruclips.net/video/G5FCVvmYb_s/видео.htmlsi=vySciSGgxl9JGPDy

    I found some disrespect from Paulita as well - she boasted of the night she made a bet with friends that she could go to Billy's grave and retrieve something to prove she was there - I believe she retrieved the cross? Just speaking from my own point of view, I would not have behaved that way for one of my loved ones. It seems disrespectful. On the other hand, maybe she knew he was buried somewhere else...or, she thought Billy would enjoy the prank, or Billy was more interested in her than she was in him. We can't know but on the face of it, it sounds like a cavalier attitude toward his death.
