    Many thanks for this helpful upload with it I've been able to dismantle my 310-15ISK to investigate the right hand hinge, seems to be a common fault the two nuts have also broken away from the case on mine! There does seem too much tension on the right hinge compared with the left. Now wondering how I can repair the damage. Edit, no way the damage to the plastic can be repaired so it will be strong enough so it looks like I'll have to source a replacement bottom case.

      My hinge broke also, seemingly spontaneously. I glued and bolted, got it running again, and today it went completely dead. Thanks for the helpful video, icannotgetafreename.

    Hey there, I hope you are doing well. Could you tell me how to upgrade it's cpu and install a graphics card? or even where I can get the information. I'm struggling at the moment. Thank you

    • @freename
      @freename  4 года назад +1

      I highly doubt either are possible. With a laptop of that price range the CPU is probably BGA soldered onto the motherboard and not likely to have any headers for adding an additional graphics card. Even if you could upgrade the CPU you wouldn't be able to go to anything modern or decent to run games.

    • @freename
      @freename  3 года назад +1

      Not easy to fix that kind of failure. Some people drill all the way through the laptop and put a bolt and nut through.. doesn't look pretty though.

    Hey yo! Is it possible to change the ram or processor of this lap?

    • @freename
      @freename  3 года назад

      1:34 is where I remove the cover to get to the RAM (the left side of the laptop once the cover is remove). Almost certainly the CPU is soldered onto the board, I wouldn't expect that to be swappable.

    My lenovo ideapad's right side hinge detatched yesterday... and I found your video useful... but not getting what should I do after dissembling.. can I repair it on home without any tool.. (except some basic screw tool)

    • @freename
      @freename  6 лет назад

      Not sure what you are asking. I expect that your hinge should have several screws into the base of the laptop but highly likely the plastic stands that hold the screws at the base have cracked off? Not much you can do there other than attempt to glue them maybe or buy an entire bottom housing.

      The computer is so low price and specification you won't be able to change the CPU without an BGA soldering re-work station. For max RAM use crucial.com system checker.
      Google: La computadora tiene un precio y especificaciones tan bajos que no podrá cambiar la CPU sin una estación de trabajo de soldadura BGA. Para obtener el máximo de RAM, utilice el verificador del sistema crucial.com.

    • @freename
      @freename  4 года назад +1

      In what sense? It is most likely that the CPU runs the graphics and even if it does not the graphics card that might be on the board itself is weak and only good enough for windows apps. Complicated games won't be possible.

    I was working on my lenovo idepad 310 while it was on my lap. I heard the sound of something metallic falling off. Turns out it was the little screw in the far right side. (That of the hinge, maybe?). The computer then started refusing to open. It froze. Any attempt to force it to open was certainly going to break it. I unscrewed one of the screws in the middle (that of the CPU I guess) and put it in the place of the screw which has fallen off. I opened it slowly again and the trick worked. However, few days later, the same problem occurred again! I can't open my PC, I can't part the screen part from the keyboard part. I don't know what exactly to fix even if I open it. Nothing seems to be broken. The only thing that seems to be off is that the right side (under the right henge) doesn't seem to be tightly in place. It's popping up a bit. I feel like something in the inside is not perfectly in the right place. It has never been dropped. Any advice, please?

    • @freename
      @freename  6 лет назад

      The screw from the middle of the machine is likely not long enough to go into the screen bracket. Try buying a spares and repairs from eBay and using the spare screws from that one on yours?

    What screwdriver should i use for M2X6 screws

    • @freename
      @freename  5 лет назад +1

      If they are undone in the video then the screwdriver I used in the video was '67-056 #0 PZ x 60mm / 2&3/8"' Screwdriver identification really might be trial and error, if your screwdriver "jumps" or "skips" when turning then you've probably used one that is too large and isn't fitting snugly into the screw head.
      Any sign of stripping or damage to the screw head - stop and use a different screw driver.

      It is on the other side of the board underneath the square metal bracket just down and to the left of the fan. Very likely BGA soldered to the board and not user swappable.

      Looking at the design it is likely that you have to replace the entire top section containing the keyboard. I don't have the machine to hand to open it up and check though.
