this is exactly the same as my laptop. I'm highly dismayed that the entire piece needs to be disassembled to get the battery swapped out. 100% hope the designer has his butt sewn shut.
Many thanks for a great video, and I have just successfully changed my battery based on this guide, and everything works perfectly! :) Just to let everyonme know, I was able to get away with just removing the keyboard and mousepad ribbons, and then the speaker connection on the bottom of the motherboard. Then, once I had taken the screws out of the motherboard, I could carefully slide the motherboard slightly backwards towards the screen and to the right, and, remove the two battery screws and replace the battery. In this way, I didn't need to disconnect any other motherboard ribbons or connectors.
Thanks for the clear explanation it helped me to fix a problem with my my laptop. Where I had to disconnect the battery. Not to slow and not to fast so I can see what you were doing
Many many thanks, just changed out both keyboard and battery in my IdeaPad. This video was very helpful and saved me a boatload of money. I went really slow check and rechecking everything. I also took care this time to order computer repair tools rather than using my trusty steak knife. I had to figure out how to reconnect the wifi cables, but all is well and working. Thanks thanks thanks.
Many thanks for posing this valuable guide. I am sure and will follow up your guidance. If I were the designer of this computer I will make the battery compartment easy to reach as the other makes do.
Hi.. wanted to ask if there is a way that i can make the keyboard on this backlit? I didn't care about it when i bought but now i need it badly.. I did see some 3rd party replacements with backlight but does the mobo have the header to connect the light cable? Thanks in advance
The complicated procedure of battery replacement is probably because of commercial reasons. Lenovo doesn't want the user to replace it by himself.. In HP laptops, we just pullout the old battery and replace it within in seconds. Shame on LENOVO. Will be very careful in future NOT TO BUY any lenovo product.
my laptop right side hinge got broken and the touch screen is wobbling and key 6 is getting pressed automatically.. can you pls share any tips to fix these issues ( much appreciated)
I've got a problem if anyone could help: My laptop is this exact model. Had it for 4 years. I have the bad habit of lifting it by holding the two bottom corners. Just recently I've had this Problem when I apply pressure on the left side (to the left of the touchpad) from below my screen glitches, freezes, and shortly after that - the machine restarts. Any idea why this happens? Have I broken or disconnected something?
Its beacuse the motherboard getting pressed when you press on the left botttom and that makes the system to freeze and hence we need to restart. I often gets a blue screen. Its just because Lenovo body is kind of very brittle, not good at all.
@@Huggybear101 hi. I was afraid at first but you have to apply some pressure. You put the cable on position and then press down on it with some tool until you hear it click
@@nikolaswalter490 Thanks for the reply. I tried that last night a few times. I think I might have deformed the shape of the clip doing it. I'll try again today. I took the card out to make access easier.
So you basically need to take the laptop apart and put it together again. Thanks Lenovo. This was my first and will be my last Lenovo laptop. Your battery just randomly stopped working.
Lenovo ideapad 310 is also my first own laptop that I paid for. My battery needs replacement but Lenovo supplier in my country is out of stock for my type of battery. I dont want to get Lenovo in my future laptop purchases.

Hi thanks for a nice video,
I did this today and got a small sprint. Did not find anywhere to go any idea.
Is this the same with all lenovo 310? Mine is 310-14isk

Same here. My first Lenovo i had for 11 years still runs, never ever had an issue.but now the new ones have tons of problems.not worth it
Lenovo Thinkpad laptops come with two batteries. Replacing them is totally easy.
Do you have bios file 310-14ikb?
Please tell me it is 30pin or 40 pin diplsy
And from where we buy this
Well....typically these models take a screen with a 30 pin connector. Easily found at Amazon or Ebay.
Excellent video.. Where did you buy the battery from?
I believe Amazon. Ebay has them too

I wonder if I can use this model laptop battery on Lenovo v130
Response would be highly appreciated ;)
I honestly dont know. Batteries are fairly model specific. Dale
How much price of this battery & where to buy?

good day what is the battery model for this laptop? thanks in advance!
Hi. The model was L15L2PB4. Thx, Dale
That just looks so complicated. Kinda scared to do it!
Hi. If your careful, and do just what I do, you should be ok. Use good tools. Protect from static electricity. Dale
I installed my battery just like this video but my laptop cant detect it. Is there a fix for that?
what is the battery type?
Im sad you did not show connecting those two cables (black and grey) at the end. I cannot manage to get these back
I'm stuck with the same problem

Hi. Yes, laptop will work without battery, and just the power cord.
@@CadillacComputerCenter thanks! one more thing is this the charger i need for this 20v 3.25a 65watts? cause i want a new one
I believe this model uses a 19.5 volt , 45watt. Just search for ideapad 310 power cord on amazon. Dale
@@CadillacComputerCenter thanks dale! will be recommending your channel least i can do
Thank you.
Why my screen not turning on but light is on after fixed sorry for bad English
I have the same laptop and hate this as replacing the battery is too complicated.
How much do these batteries cost? Does anybody know that answer?
Currently from 26 to 40 bucks on Amazon.
When the Chinese stole IBM proprietary PC/Laptop design back in the 90's, they read the blueprints upside down.... No'mo Lenovo... Lesson learned....
