I wish current laptops were upgradeable like that, I was really surprised when I opened my old Dell e6540 to find out its i5-4300M was upgradeable, although never did it and ended selling it to finish building my desktop PC
Same here. Just like my other laptop which its gpu isn’t upgrade able and stuck with gtx 1050 with a capale i7 cpu. I wish i could just upgraded the gpu to rtx or better so that i can still game on that laptop.

depends if your motherboard has the capability, i recently went from i3 2330m to an i7 with same hopes, unfortunately 16gigs for me was not possible@@SARTAJALI-eg2qu
At a minimum for modern laptops to have this function you're going to need a minimum equivalent of 2500USD except if Framework ships to your country that is and that is the closest to a laptop that has past functions
@@SARTAJALI-eg2quDepends on the i7 generation each generation can only handle so much RAM size that if you go past the max limit either it won't post or it will only read the max limit so you potentially wasted a lot of money to have more RAM
Thank you for making this video. I've used it a couple times now to take my Vostro apart. Last time I did it on my own. I'm good at it now. Thanks for putting it on. I just put a new WiFi card in and now have Wifi 6/ ax. I've also put in a new mSATA SSD. Upgraded from the 32GB to 1TB. Plus the CPU from 3210M to 3632QM. I'm thinking of trying the 3840QM. I've already got it. It's 45W but I've heard that should be okay and that it's like overclocking.
i dont think there exists a 32gb of storage but i do know that there exists 32gb of ram xD
@@justanormalguy9288Oh it does. I still have it. A 32GB mSATA SSD card that came in the Vostro 3560. It had Windows 7 installed on it. But Windows 10 is too big for it. When I came across the drive in the settings I was like "What is this?? Why is this here?". When the previous owner or even maybe the computer shop I bought the laptop from installed Windows 10 they never set up the drive. So I set it up and put some things on it. Then I learned why it was there. Meanwhile not knowing that the BIOS/UEFI was now once again the using SRT (Smart Response Technology) with the drive card. SRT is meant as a cache for the slow mechanical 7200rpm hard drive. The operating system was on it and it was also for recently loaded websites. All to make a faster computer. I've switched to AHCI instead of SRT now that it's pointless having an SSD in place of the HD.

aku pernah dapat laptop buruk macam ni condition body sangat teruk dan motherboard dan display still bagus...cuma aku cari semua bahan body palrest keyboard include touchpad semua dan palm rest bawah dan battery termasuk frame display depan belakang...serupa tak yah beli baru kekal kan sampai high end upgrade 3rd gen limited dan upgrade ram sampai 16gb ddr3 then ssd pastu done....at least kira dapat laptop bajet gaming untuk guna...dapat fps 60 kat valorant tu pon cukup bagus dah untuk bajet gaming mur2..just upgrade sampai padu baru layan lah sampai rosak mobo tu...

@@ROmasterplan it works in all socket G2 boards as long as you upgrade the chipset heatsink and get the corrosponding wattage cooler because the stock one is probably shiz.
Your motherboard was made one day before mine. I put the 3632QM in mine and it works great. I'm wondering if I put the 3840qm in it so Real Myst from 2015 won't have slicing across the screen. I see the one logical processor is overloaded when I play it. The 3840qm is a 45w processor though.
My 3630qm is 45w too . No worries with great paste.

It's even cheaper than the 3612qm. 3840qm is almost double the 3630qm's price 😂 Kinda regret i didnt get 3630qm and went for 3612qm instead since im upgrading my aunt's laptop not mine. If the laptop was mine i would have bought 3630qm. Best bang for buck

the wattage is different. possible but stability and thermal will have issue. can be done.
The U processor are BGA (soldered to the mainboard), the M (and QM) have pins on the bottom of the cpu and there is a socket on the motherboard (PGA), since the Last Pentium 4, intel desktop cpu and now even AMD are of the FGA type with contact pins on the mainboard socket.

What's the best cpu the Vostro 3560 can take? I see UserBenchmark says it can take a Core i7-3632QM - Barely better than the 3612QM. I think the mSata drive goes in the top right. I'm not sure I see one on this computer. But I've not looked at mine inside yet. Mine has the 32GB mSata for Window's 7 but when the previous owner put Windows 10 on the computer it had to be put on the 7200rpm hard drive, WAY slower operating system loading time. I just put in the SSD and it's way faster now.
I have a 1 TB mSata drive to put in. I've read the mSata has a Sata3 interface while the hard drive/SSD only has a Sata2 interface. So it's worth putting the OS on the mSata drive. But maybe only if the better processor is put in. Task Manager says the CPU is running at 100% now when the computer is first starting and the SSD running at like 50% maybe? With the old hard drive, the hard drive was running at 100% and the CPU was at like 20% when loading. BIG difference!
While I have the computer apart I'd like to upgrade the CPU too. I'd like to to get 3632QM but I don't know if it will work. I see the 3612QM will though. And not just in this video. I'd like to put in the best CPU this computer can take though.
Also, I've read this computer can take 16GB of RAM too. I'll try putting that in too.
Only drawback is not being able to put in a better GPU.
Yes this laptop uses mSata ssd. You can try put i7 3940XM cpu but its 55 watt and will run hotter and be sure to use the best thermal paste. But I use i7 3612QM since i got it really cheap from the local marketplace. But before trying XM cpu with 55 watt, try with 45 watt cpu.

the fastest is i7-2860QM or the much cheaper quad core i7 2630qm. If it does not work try updating the bios

@@Loniqose15 quite simple you can try going to dynabook support and typing in your part number in the base of your laptop and clicking on your operating system, then clicking on the latest bios version there and downloading it. Ive never had issues with my toshiba laptop after the update they quite trustworthy.

Most likely, but to make sure it does, check your laptop model, and make sure the bios is up-to-date.
Note that also the cpu you asked for is a bit expensive for old gen laptop, maybe go for a 3740qm, 1/3 price and close in performance.

it depends on your laptop motherboard if it can change its processor. most modern laptop nowadays doesnt support the upgradeable CPU. your motherboard also needed to be check its socket type can handle or accept the cpu you wanted to use
as an example, i have a Dynabook Satellite Pro A50-A series, its motherboard model was B453/J and it can support the upgradeable RAM, HDD>SSD and CPU change

yes, but i will stick to 35w cpu due to cooling. since my laptop only have one heatsink or heatpipe for both cpu and gpu.
