If you put Bearman in a seat at Haas you'd expect a solid mentor type of driver in the other one and that characterisation doesn't fit Ocon at all . Bottas and Ricciardo are well suited for that role.
I would love to see Bottas in beside Bearman, I think they would be a good solid pair.
Haas doesn't care, it's sink or swim
I bet KMag will stay whether they sign Bearman or not. While he was outperformed by Hulk, Hulk is leaving anyway. KMag is costly but his costly defense has been providing the team with points to outweigh it.
@@Naguib55 Exactly, KMag is the best teammate you could possibly ask for, he's the reason they've gotten most of those points
@@Naguib55 hmm maybe. I wouldn't be opposed to it in terms of how much experience he has, especially with that team and I think that could be helpful with a rookie. I'm not sure though, I think he's made a few too many high profile mistakes this season. If there's an alternative option, I reckon Haas will take it.
Bottas would be a good driver for Alpine. Or maybe Pourchaire.
I think what happens to Audi and Williams is dependent on where Sainz goes.
Pouchaire has gone through that one way revolving door to IndyCar he isn't coming back.
WAIT is he not going to sauber/Audi with the hulk alongside him
this guy is becoming a youtuber now
It wouldn't take much - pay his own travel n tickets, an editor/social media guru and agent, cameraperson (optional). All's left is replacement of that out dated Sky logo with something tasteful and undoubtedly much less costly.
Genuinely who is this guy, obviously his names Craig slater but googling brings up some young soccer player, not him. It brings up content that this Craig is in, but what is his background?
@@midnightq69 He seems to do the actual journalism that provides the smarmy pretentious sky presenters with things to say whilst they fill for 6 hours per race.
@@handsomenumber1393funny you say that, I had an online interaction with one over the Canada weekend, let's just say he didn't appreciate his career being compared to Nyck de Vries, I'll let you figure out who it was. I'll give you a hint, Nyck had more race starts.
Well it depends if he has his own RUclips account or become a social media guru on twitter
So many of these drivers need the chop, some great prospects are being held back by the lack of seats taken by has beens
It's been widely reported that Uber have put in an offer for Ocon.
I’ve heard rumours of a move to Just Eat
hopefully lawson gets a seat
He deserves a chance for sure
Lawson has a seat…… on the pit wall.
Bearman and antonelli tanking in f2 but still likely to get f1 seats is ridiculous , they haven’t performed well enough in f2 making them pay drivers , even sergeant and Zhou had better results
my thoughts exactly, not even close to F2 championship level, how can they be even considered for F1
@@Matt04108 Raikkonen, Bottas, Ricciardo, Ocon, Stroll, Sainz, and Max Verstappen never did F2. Why are not all F2 champions in F1?
Doohan made Bearman look silly a few times last year.
@@CA-mm5wy Your response doesn't make sense. He said they haven't done well in F2. None of the drivers you listed "haven't performed in F2'
@@robritoboy Maybe I need to clarify: F2 is NOT a guarantee of performance in F1 or getting into F1.
There are two danes in the running as well. Gene Haas is a big fan of Magnussen and may decide for Kev to stay, but Haas is probably his only option to stay in F1. Fred Vesti have had talks with both Mercedes and Alpine. Alpine as late as in Canada. Being the reserve driver for Merc, doing thousands of sim miles and attending all pre- and post race meeting, the team know exactly what Vesti can and cannot do.
Lawson not getting a 2025 seat would be criminal.. 🇳🇿
Valtteri bottas needs to go back to Mercedes, he was a great second driver. The only reason he went was because they needed to promote George in readiness to replace Lewis or risk losing him. He may not be a number one driver but as second driver's go I think he was as good has Eddie Irvine the gold standard for number 2 drivers
intresting... i could see ocon in haas or stake but im not positive... kevin could leave but i sure hope not and i am happy perez has a 2 year contract with red bull
Yuki was RB resigned and STILL up in the mix for HAAS?
Yuki will stay at Alpha Tauri.
@@CA-mm5wy What is Alpha Tauri 😂
@@k.laschnikow2861 Yesterday's news, but the new name is too long for typing.
Love this segment ❤️
I think Lawson would be good for Williams if they don’t get Sainz or Bottas.
And he’s already been Alex’s teammate in DTM. Good call.
@@cathh3301 Significantly outperformed Albon in DTM in the same team
If he says “probably” then I doubt he’s an insider 😂
Why not consider Magnussen to stay in Hass?
Because he’s a liability, entertaining, but a liability
He'll be a better pairing with Bearmab than Ocon.
@@Runnerboy2012 A liability? He's the best teammate you could possibly have.
Perez smashing into him doesn't prove anything, same with Sargeant not seeing him.
@@Runnerboy2012 Haas needs some stability though. Ocon isn't stable, especially when it comes to fighting with his teammates. Having a rising rookie and aggressive Ocon as a paring is a much bigger liability.
@@kristoffer3000 the man should literally be on a race ban for too many penalty points
Please 🙏 Liam lawson... somewhere bro!!!😊😊😊
What makes you think Ocon will get a contract from anyone?
I don't see him in F1 next year
He did sort of hint in that shtty interview that he had something lined up. Personally, I think he's had his chance and would never be a solid number 2 to anyone. Not a team player IMHO.
The haas tp praised him in an interview and said he's among the top of their list
In my dreams Sainz go to HAAS but I would like to have Bottas - I don't like Ocon AT ALL in the HAAS...
What is Perez does a 2023 slump and stays there? And if Daniel keeps scoring at his current rate and being beaten by Yuki?
Ricciardo is far too expensive for that second RB seat. Lawson and Tsunoda were both on £1m, and Ricciardo was between £5 - £7m, its such a silly decision to keep him on the payroll, just keep him as a reserve and put him on all the marketing like last year
I personally don't think Bearman is good enough. He was very lucky with a few races he won in F2, and was in a Prema. Doohan showed him up a few times in inferior machinery. He tends to lose it too often and fall off to nowhere. Not sure where the hype came from, because if you watched him in F2 he wasn't anything.
Craig Slater explaining transfers and F1 is like hearing my grandad explain tik tok trends.....my grandad is dead
Can't help feeling Lawson needs to break away from the RB family if he doesn't get the 2nd VCARB seat. Maybe slim odds of him getting the other Alpine or Merc seats?
Merc sounds like it's locked in for Antonelli, and if Alpine is looking for a rookie driver they'll promote Doohan. Liam's best bets are the Williams seat or the Sauber/Audi seat, whichever one Sainz doesn't choose. He'll still be competing with Ocon and Bottas for those though.
Antonelli to Mercedes is a mistake imo, he should start in Williams first, show some vigour and then move. That seat should go back to bottas, or sainz at least until 2026.
with all the talk of kimi to merc next season or 26 why is nobody saying x or y from the droves of redbull juniors across the various cats?
F1 is the pinnacle of Motorsport! Proceed to watch a GP with Sargent, Stroll, Perez, Riccardo, Magnussen and Zhou.
RBCARB extended Yuki to avoid to go to Alpine with Gasly
I think that the best option for Sainz is Williams over Audi (it is too far away)
How is Perez still given a seat?
probably to keep max happy to try keep him longer. also Perez has been on borrowed time since joining redbull so he probably trying to stay there as long as he can by meeting the minimum redbull want from him.
@@douglasreid699 Might be.
Because with his point haul, ANYONE else would be better in that seat.
@HTOP1982 his point haul over the last three races = 4 which is the same as Daniel. Want to reconsider?
@@Melbourne-s4x The RB is probably a better car. with a better strat team.
The fact that Perez is being outscored by the guy that is not even the number 1 of the junior team, is quite telling...
Perez is on borrowed time.
Don't you talk about Drugovich?
Drugovich > zhou
Drugovich > Stroll
i am surprised Ocon and Perez would want to be kept on for another year. i can understand they want Perez to keep Max happy but he is struggling to perform and finish second in the championship, but Ocon seems to have more crashes than KMag and blames others for silly mistakes over the years. there is so much new talent ready to step in but they want Ocon, doesnt make sense.
Drop Riccardo, Bottas also and let new faces in
Like a broken record, these morons can't even spell Daniel's name correctly.
Who can realistically believe into Sainz and Williams rumors?
Williams does not have have 10-15 mil € per year for him, they don’t even have a spare chassis when they need it.
I'm still holding onto the completely illogical hope that Lance Stroll will somehow miraculously leave Aston's F1 team (though, let's be honest, even in this outlandish scenario, it would be to a soft landing to some Aston Martin supercar project or something) and Sainz goes to AMR.
William ? Driver would never dare tell william "use 1°camber instead of 5° camber" so any inexpensive racer will do
Vettel to Mercedes would be amazing.
4:45 Alex is also British but races under the Thai flag there will be 5 British drivers on the grid
That’s not the point. He drives under the Thai nationality. Check out other drivers nationalities. Lando for example has a Belgian mother, but drives under the British flag (his father’s nationality). Verstappen’s mother is also Belgian, but he drives under the Dutch flag (his father’s nationality).
@@JB-xd9dr Stroll has a Belgian mother but drives under the Canadian flag.
So. In F1 was so many Belgien, that they send Vandoorne away,
indeed. My point to @xxkiy.burkexx was that the nationality of driver on the grid as mentioned in the video depends on the flag they choose to drive under. So there will NOT be 5 British driver on the grid.
@@JB-xd9dr Pedant: a person who annoys other people by correcting small errors and giving too much attention to minor details
Bravo! Craig's talk just seems so much more engaging, informative and easier to digest. Is main stream media dying or can the likes of overpriced Sky identify what us punters want and adapt accordingly? MORE OF THIS GUY PLEASE.
3:08 it’s not a no confidence vote.. it’s a logical one
Surely. Mercedes continuing as Williams power unit supplier for the new regs in 2026, and a Williams deal is most likely going to be more flexible for Carlos.
@@lazer_kiw1 exactly. He can have a 2+1 etc. Stay and feel out the grid. Make the best choice in 2027.
Doohan should replace Ocon. Alpine has hopefully learnt their lesson with Piastri.
Doohan is not the same level as Piastri if you compare their junior careers
What about Victor Martins? He was ahead Doohan at 2023 championship (2nd behind Pourchaire)
Why Sauber don't think to put rookie along side Hulk? What about the F2 champion, former Sauber academy driver, named Theo Pourchaire?

Wrong kmag is staying at haas.
Sainz to Williams
Perez is 1 + 1 year genius
Thanks Craig. Always informative
I just wanna see Carlos in a competitive car. Also Albon deserves better than Williams, all his previous rookie peers are in competitve cars except him.
That's been Albon's decision to stay at Williams.
He know what's on offer/at stake.
Look guys - believe me Perez is signed on simply as smoke screen - if he had not been re-signed then Sainz etc would have absolutely cast iron negotiating position. Now Red Bull can speak to whoever with a solid backup in place. Sorry Sergio but it is still Adious when Sainz is signed up.
Doubt it, Sainz ain't going to want to play 2nd fiddle with Verstappen as his number 2.
Redbull extending Perez is financially sound and I'd be willing to think that there even a clause or two in his contract that would let redbull drop him to the visa RB outfit if things get worse in the Redbull.
That'd be my guess and the least messy all things considered.
Drivers haven’t really had a choice about playing second fiddle to Max, when you out qualify them and run 5 tenths quicker in race trim you become number 2.
When Perez did well at the start of last year RB did not favour Max over him. In fact it was Max who was not happy about being pitted at inconveniant times.
If Sainz came in and dominated Max he would soon become ‘no1’ in people’s eyes like Leclerc did against Vettel. However Max Is a completely different animal and drivers fear this.
Sainz is going to Williams and Perez signed a two tear deal. Smoke screen lifted...
Williams needs to get Logan Sargeant out of their car immediately… I’m tried of watching them suck because of uncompetitive driver line-ups
Needs more annoying whooshing sounds.
Not hard to replace is he, my mums available 😂
Craig's reporting, is pure speculation and corny, he's never definitive.
what is keeping Sainz to go to Merc? if Sainz goes to Williams his career will just goes for a nose dive.
That won’t happen. Williams are investing heavily. Sure they won’t be competing at the front anytime soon but that won’t always be the case.
If all the personnel at Kick Sauber are to work for the works Audi team from 2026 onwards, it'll still be Sauber; they'll never win a race, let alone a championship.
Or they could be another Brawn in 2026, who knows at this stage.
@@I_Evo One word: Unlikely.
@@SceneArtisan Yes very unlikely, but it is Audi/VW Group we are talking about here and they do have a bit of a history of success in many areas of motorsports.
@@I_Evo So did Toyota and look at how THAT turned out (in F1).
On Ocon, if he goes to Haas, that’s a step down. Especially if he gets teamed with Bearman.
And if Bearman defeats him, it’s game over.
If he goes to Merc, Russell will most likely annihilate him. With it possible it’d be more or as equally one sided as Lewis and Valtteri were.
George, so far, is seemingly pulverising Lewis in the H2H. And Lewis is better than Estaban.
I think ocon if he went to Mercedes would not be annihilated by Russell but vice versa literally.
If ocon just chilled a bit he would be a good driver.
@@Micfri300 Ocon is nowhere near as good as Russell. George is ahead of Hamilton who’s still an elite driver.
George is top three of his generation, if not top two on the grid.
@@gameofender4463 george ain't all of that - he is lucky to have the british media behind him, but Gasly and Ocon had a better career so far
@@benjicool2808 That’s more Lando than George. And no they haven’t. 😂
George has had a way better career than either Alpine driver.
@@gameofender4463 nope he didn't and he drives for Mercedes, which is a bit of a shame. He actually spent all that time on williams being better than extremely crappy drivers, Ocon and Gasly were going above and beyond with mediocre cars.

Mick Schumacher sucks! Like Guenther Steiner said, he is so slow that he doesn’t even need a brake… pls don’t come back.
Exactly, people keep trying to hype him up for an F1 seat but if he gets another go after being a menace to the barriers and a moving road block then I don't know what think anymore.
Ocon don’t deserve a seat You British always blame Max but Ocon is the dirty driver
Sainz to Merc, Kimi to be placed at Williams 😀
Sainz to Aston, With Alonso. Stroll to the gulag.
I think V-CARB should sack Daniel Riccardo and give that seat to Liam Lawson he deserves a proper fair chance Riccardo has had 5 seasons in which to prove himself and has fell short of doing so he needs to give others a chance to and stop hogging a seat that he cannot perform in and bring the expected results to the team he is being selfish and unfair onto towards the whole of the team with he's poor performances and like Jacques villnieve said they can't keep Making excuses for him to stay in F1 if he can't cut it ...when it comes to Riccardo everything else is the problem besides for himself.
Typical bot, zero punctuation, can't spell drivers names correctly.
Where could you have possibly plucked 5 years from. Is the DR hate being generated by AI, because no human is stupid enough to write that?
Boo hoo.....move on
I'd certainly like to see Lawson in F1. On the other hand, DR has shown glimpses of the old Daniel lately. Putting a VCARB in 4th in Miami and 5th in Montreal is quite an achievement. Only doubt now is consistency. He starts beating Yuki regularly then who knows.
@@sbGOM makes sense to renew DR3 for 2025. His feedback / experience has been invaluable and has directly benefitted Yuki and VCARB as a whole.
Slater is like an old woman, get rid please
Sainz to Williams is probably the worst signing deal for a half-decent drivers we've seen in F1 in decades. Sainz career has gone from potential top runner to done and over with this contract.
Click bait gossip.
I suspect ALL drivers must meet performance targets. There’s no such thing as an iron clad contract.
Martin Brundle slipped his tongue and told Carlos will be joining Williams alongside Albon in 2025 during Montreal GP commentary. Crofty tried to cover that like nothing happened😆😆
Wouldn’t employ Perez to sweep leaves at this stage.
Bit harsh but Perez definitely isn’t a top level driver. I never understood why McLaren singed him back in 2011/2012
@@halomultiplayermoments He got 3-4 podiums and almost won in 2012.
Did Bottas shrink 2025 to 2024 contract like Hamilton did?
I will drive the HAAS in 2025, I’ll do it for 100K a year plus free overalls and helmet 👍🏻Happy to buy my own boots, do we have a deal ? 😂
Tsunoda has never looked good until he’s been partnered with ricciardo, both of them should be dropped. To be fair with the fresh talent that’s available about half of the grid could easily be dropped.
Replacing ocon in fp1, and asking for a driver swab during the race for me is a much harsher punishment than outright dismissal, even worse if this will be repeated by alpine in the next race. how ocon dealt with the media also only made things worse.
The driver swap is karma for what they did to Gasly in Suzuka last year
I didn’t recognise him without a phone in his hand…
Zhou to Alpine leaving other and way better candidates without a drive would be so sad.
Half the grid needs sacking. Too much dead weight.
Victor Martins > abyss > Doohan
F1 is so boring and predictable.
Craig is usually good, but Martins is going well in F2? Should say nothing rather than something so misinformed
Martins was quite fast last year, he's been unlucky this year, and a bit stupid too, but if you've been following him he is really quite quick and carves the field often.
@@robritoboy I’ve watched the entire F2 season. He’s been objectively terrible. Last season, he was pretty good

I don't get why mercedes aren't after Sainz on a one year deal at least. Put Antonelli in the Williams and see if he can compete with Albon. Also gives Sainz an opportunity to secure a deal with Audi the year after
Yes, they proposed that deal but Sainz has refused because he requires multi year deal.

Meanwhile get rid of Alpine, bring in Andretti. Gasly stays and Bearman in the 2nd seat. Let me know if you are struggling with selections elsewhere. You're welcome ✌.
Bearman isn't good enough, Doohan made him look silly a few times last year in F2.

I think ocon and danny Ric are out completely
I think if DR has another weekend like this one, he will be retained. Imagine dropping someone who can qualify a VCARB in 4th and 5th. That said, he needs to show these performances aren't flashes in the pan.
This guy is becoming a youtouber
Sainz Sr went to Ford, Jr is going to Williams.
It's probably going to be either Mick Schumacher or Jack Doohan. Bruno Famin wants team players and both those drivers are team players and are within Alpine's own stable of drivers.
Ocon got the Merc nothing surer
