Lando Norris vs Oscar Piastri, a big headline in Formula 1 today and something I loved yapping about in this video. I personally think both drivers are extremely talented (even if I lean more towards Oscar). Lando has the qualifying pace and race pace, while Oscar is extremely talented in wheel to wheel racing and overall racecraft. This isn't a comparison video on who is the better driver, I've come to think of these two as close equals. So instead this video covers just how much Pastry and Norizz have been carrying this season.
And of course, just how IMPRESSIVE they have been. Piastri with only 2 years of experience under his belt performing just as good as Lando, and Lando absolutely dominating in races like in Zandvoort and Singapore. The McLaren might be a rocketship, but DAMN is that still impressive.
Max Verstappen gets a couple mentions in the video too, so does Lewis Hamilton...and of course, Fernando Sigmalonso (no rick video is a rick video without Alonso). Im honestly excited to see where the 2024 F1 world championship goes, but whats for sure, is that Oscar Piastri is going to be a champion in the future. Because he sure as hell drives like one.

Albon has shown good 1 lap and race pace and also really strong defensive driving in a weaker car than the guys he’s defending. I think it’ll be closer than you’re expecting

Idk how but Kimi Raikkonen managed to possess Oscar Piastri. The guy just doesn't have any emotion. Cant believe he got more excited about winning grill the grid than his first grand Prix win.

i just love how they both do a magnificent race making people say who to priorities and the race after the other one responds with another fantastic race
well although the y both deseve a chance at the championship its quite obvious its much to late for that it would require a ton of podiums for oscar and verstapen getting like 6 or below for the rest of the season.meanwhile one or 2 bad verstapen races and lando wins he is within single digits which is why I beleive once lando has shown he wont be able to comftobly beat verstapen let them race but so far redbull is in hot garbage so Id let lando go for it

I'm a Lando fan but I'm actually very happy he has Oscar as his teammate. They respect each other off track and whilst it can be tense on track, they're pushing each other to be better each race. And yes there's a lot of back and forth between them both, and I think it'll be these two battling for the title next year, I cannot wait!!

I love how you said how good they both are. A lot of people seem to say how good one of them is and then say the other one is really bad which is crazy. Like they can both be really good drivers. Its crazy how some people put one driver down to praise the other one.

Mark Webber’s gonna teach Oscar that pre-race agreements don’t mean jack. A win is a win and if Mclaren insists on having a favorite child (I wont name names), Oscar can happily hop off to another team who will treat and pay him better.
By that logic Lando should never have let Oscar past..team orders or not!

I love how you can tell both of them want to be selfish but both of them just have too much humility to do it LOL. What an awesome team with an awesome pair of drivers. Excited to see what these guys can do and hopefully keep calm and cool heads with each other in the future much like theyre doing now.

This is spot on, Norris is getting heat from 3 very large fanbases (Leclerc is the other one) who don’t believe he “deserves” to be at the front based on talent

The problem with a Lando "villain arc" is that, unlike Max, he clearly does give a fuck and lets things get under his skin when they absolutely shouldn't. Even today he was streaming and talking shit about Lewis and George suffering heat-stroke during the Singapore GP (apparently their water wasn't working), being like "ugh get over it, you don't know what I was going through, etc."
That's just his humor though, if you watch a lot of the streams he's in it seems like he's not saying it maliciously. Like he was shit-talking Max Fewtrell all stream but you could tell it was coming from a place of love ig

I blame McLaren’s current ‘papaya rules’ to Mark Webber being Oscar’s manager. I think Mark pushed for there to be no number 1 driver in Oscar’s contract based on his past experience with Vettel at RedBull. Makes the most sense for explaining why the team doesn’t value Norris’s championship at all.
Eh McLaren never cared for WDC. As long as their cars are at the front and the brand is making headlines and they get the WCC prize money, WDC is just a bonus they can achieve.

Think Lando's quicker but OP is looking like the more complete driver, or at least will be. Lando is turning into Charles, blisteringly fast but for whatever reason can't manage to convert that pace into consistent wins despite being in the position to
Yeah they are both equal. One driver dominates a race by 20s, the other driver loses to P2 by 20s.
They are EQUALly far apart from Max but just in opposite directions

@@paperplane-db8qf The thing is, in Zandvoort and Singapore, Max just checked out of the race once it was obvious to him that he's not gonna win. He comfortably brings it home in P2 and doesn't stress the engine. Whereas Lando has admitted he was pushing hard at Zandvoort AND Singapore.
Max is playing the long game, P2 (20 seconds behind) and P2 (0.1 second behind) is worth the same amount of points. Lando has already lost multiple races this year to Max with a less than 3 second gap.

How are people still pushing the "Lando bottled the start" narrative, weeks after McLaren has confirmed his and Oscars various issues at the start were caused by some gearbox issues they have fixed shortly before monza.... Also, Mclarens indecisiveness was not down to which driver to prioritize (which would be easy, the one leading the teammate head to head) but wether there was a point even going after the championship... They weren't sure wether the Red Bull issues were just temporary or not...

The engineers are the difference between 2022 McLaren and now not the drivers. The drivers have done a great job but they would still be Formula B if the design team hadn’t been on point for over 12 months. The strategy team at McLaren… well… the less said the better.
