In today's video, I'm comparing two amazing offset guitars - Squier FSR Classic Vibe Jaguar and Squier FSR Classic Vibe Mustang. Which one would you choose? Leave a comment down below and let me know what you think!
These two models are from the FSR Series (Factory Special Run), but they're the same as the regular CV guitars - the only difference is the color. Overall, I love both of these guitars, but I think that I'll stick to the Jaguar!

Very nice review / demonstration! Subscribed :-) I've got a vintage Mustang from 1966. I love it, the tremolo is just amazing and somehow quite different to Strats or Jaguars/Jazzmasters. Although the sound isn't that prestine like that of a Jaguar, IMO the Mustang is a very nice guitar and quite underrated!

i bought CV mustang in competition orange color way, and i absolutely agree with you that both guitars need a proper setup and oiling the fretboard. I prefer Mustang over the jaguar because it has this garage rock overdriven neck sound ,but they are both beautiful guitars and sound awesome!

Absolutely! I've seen this orange CV Mustang and damn, what a great looking guitar it is :)!

Setup right Mustang tremolo can crazy dives and up pulls whereas the Jaguar and jazz master can’t.

      @cloticcc9898 Год назад +1

@@mattdoliver1984 speaking about mustang, the nut was awful. It’s cut to barely fit 9-42 but you need at least 10-52 strings so it won’t buzz . But at least its a real bone but , not a synthetic one.

@@cloticcc9898 oh sorry I though I read it as you had both, I love Mustangs and heard good things about the classic vibe runs of guitars I’ve never played one though, well I hear good things about squire all the time

I may point out the tremolo system is different. The JM and JAG tremolo most all need neck shims. I am considering buying a Squire 60's CV Mustang but I'm have the same concerns about vibrato. I am looking at Guild Deluxe Surfliner also that needs nothing but it is 300 more dollars. I have been playing for 4 decades with a bit of time off the past ten years. Going back in to put a band together for my semi retirement years. Does this Mustang trem system have the same issues as the Jazzmaster tremolo plate and neck angle.

Both sounds great. Though decision. I've got CV Jaguar recently mainly because I already have Bullet Mustang and Fender Duo sonic HS. What's the overdrive you're using for the demo? Sounds really nice. Thanks.

I gotta say I prefer the sound of the Jaguar across all the demos. The Jaguar has more depth with its sound and the bass cut is quite cool. The Mustang sounds pretty tinny with distortion and the cleans dont particularly stand out in any way. The Mustang pickup positions all kind of sound the same, and I wonder if that's because of the super low output pickups?
I love the Mustang shape though and would love the P-90 Player series model in surf green!

I like the Jaguar more bc it sounds more robust, full, warm. The Mustang is a little behind, more simple - cleaner maybe. There is, however, the Kurt Cobain bias. Both awesome looking and sounding guitars

Hi, I have a Fender Mustang Japan and it dosn't need a Shim.
On my Squier Jaguar Vintage Modified it was impossible to play a little harder without a 1mm Shim and a Mustang Bridge; or without - you have to use some sort of 13 strings or so.

I have a Fender Mustang Vintera and I can say that the Mustang sound with modulation effects such as chorus or flanger is perfection, translucent, crystalline... It can be heard in this demo here on the Squier too, with the chorus. The ideal new wave guitar in my opinion !

Am I wrong or there's more single coil hum on the Mustang?

I think the claws around the jaguar pickups do something to help that.

They're lower output pups so the hum is more noticeable

Your demo is the first one where I felt I could really hear the strings behind the bridge of the Jaguar resonating so much. Definitely a different sound than the Mustang or strat / tele style guitars.

The Fender Kurt Cobain Jag is honestly overrated. The Squire 60’s vibe Jaguar is honestly much better 4 that Nirvana sound.
