I had that same problem. I still do to some extent, but one thing that helped me put some pace into the shot is the jump into the court(still keeping the body sideways though) and some wrist snap.
I don't recommend a topspin second serve unless you have decent speed on your first serve. Even if you have perfect technique but have a slow arm it's going to just sit up and be a liability. That's the main reason most girls on the WTA don't use it. It's not that they can't learn it, they just don't hit it fast enough to be effective. Much better off developing a slice second serve if you're unable or hitting a fast flat serve since a kick serve is going to be around 70% or less of that speed.
@@BinhLe004there is some truth in your statement. My second is probably around 60mph. So far nobody attack it. But then again we are low level players
@@fl9667 That's true, a slow kick serve will still work at 3.5 etc but when I play some 4.5 guys, they're licking their lips on my slow kick that's sitting right were they like it.
@@fl9667 ruclips.net/video/jQxxrMUnYxg/видео.html Having said that, I do have some tips for kick serve power. Everything John says applies. But I like to add a few things that helped me add power to my own kick serve. I'm also a low level player just starting to develop my kick serve over the last few months. I've only recently been able to hit the side fence. I added my serve notes in my comment.
My second serve has a kick but no speed. I am hoping to make it one bounce to the wall. Is it a lack of forward force? So not only brush up movement.
