- How To get the Z Saber in Megaman X3 in full Detail

1. Never let Zero DIE!
2. To start you need to have killed two bosses to get access to Vile's secret Factory.
3. Make sure you have the Spinning Blades from the Crush Crawfish.
4. Find The teleporter to Vile's Factory in either Volt Catfish's, Crush Crawfish's, or Blizzard Buffalo's stage.
5. Kill Vile with the Spinning Blades and make sure he explodes and does not escape.
6. Kill all the bosses and collect every item including:
8 hearts
4 Sub Tanks
4 Ride Armors
4 Armor Upgrades
And any of the 5 chips
The Gold Chip is the best

7. Get to Doppler's Lab the second stage and get through the entire stage until you reach the door to the mini boss.
8. Switch to Zero and go and kill the mini boss.
9. View the cutscene and...
GO PWN SIGMA WITH..... THE Z SABER!!!!!

Between this and the gold armor, X3 has some of the most convoluted power-up acquisition requirements in the entire series.
And accordingly the most OP and badass.

@@SocraticMayhem Cooler, yes, but they lack Mobily, the Zero Saber I think is better because you can move and use it. both the Hado and Shoryu require full health, and requires you to be on the ground.The Hadoken locks you into place for a few sec, and the Shoyuken, you kinda have to be careful where you use it, if you use it near spikes you fall directly onto the spikes, as you can't cancel your fall..
@alexandrelopes308 I never played Valkyrie Profile. I had a friend who owned it back when it came out though, and while I don't remember any of the specifics, he did explain to me how complicated some of the secrets were from his own experiences.

Gold Armor is Stronger than Zero, that's heavy
You forget the usual upgrades, plus all the different Ride Armor acquisitions. X3 is by far and wide the best.

@@thrashmobin6235 Though I didn't test it,I am sure that getting the Golden Armor upgrade is unnecessary...The needed steps are killing Vile with either the Ray Splasher or the Spinning Blade,then get Zero to fight the mentioned mini-boss...It's fun and satisfying,but if you care a lot about getting a good ending,it's best not to get Zero's Saber,as this will lead to the bad ending...

I play again yesterday and just got gold armor😅 but not get z saber.

You don't need to drain all his life with the Ray splasher or the blades to kill him, just finish him off with em. You don't need all the upgrades either to get the sword.

TIL you can switch to Zero in the pause menu. It's never mentioned in-game, nor is it mentioned in the legacy collection's "manual"

Yes you can also use the Ray Splash move you learn from the tiger. It is actually easier too.

A hint for Doppler labs 2, The red robots in the beginning have a small area where you can stand and you can't be hit cause you too close, but far enough to not be hurt by touching it. It is right on top their cannon when they fire.
Didn't expect to see you here when searching to figure all this stuff out, completely unexpected.
Actually, you’ve shown a few unnecessary steps. All of the steps are:
1. Beat Crush Crawfish.
2. Find Vile in his hideout BEFORE the doppler stages are unlocked.
3. Make the final blow on Vile using the Spinning Blade (Crush Crawfish’s weapon) and he will officially die.
4. Go into Doppler Stage 2. Before the miniboss, switch to Zero and enter the door. Make sure not to let Zero die before as you won’t be able to use him after.
5. Kill the miniboss as Zero.
Zero will unfortunately be unusable after doing this, but now it won’t matter as X can now use Zero’s best ability in X3- his saber
Where is doppler stage 2?
He'll also die if you beat him with ray splash.

Damnit. I am on Doppler stage 1 with everything, except I killed Vile with the X Buster. No saber for me.

Chris Best If you don't use saw blades and ray splasher vile is never die you won't get a z-saber. And second vile in Doppler Stage 2. When i got a z-saber because Vile is die and i use saw blades anymore. Now switch to Zero. and get to z-saber. :)

To find any of the warp capsules, the maverik has to be alive or this warp capsules appears even if the maverik was defeated?
@Duorsa So do you see Zero appear in you menu if you hit L r R?
You can kill Byte with the ray splasher and Bit with the spinning blades (i don't remember if it was the spinning blades or the bomb). If you kill both you will be able to different boss in doppler's stage 1.
Some of the things in this game are able to be found on their own, but there are just some that you need the walk through to help you in the right direction. Otherwise, they're a pain in the ass to find. Like I didn't know about the gold chip 'til I read a walkthrough.

@mbahmusalto The lift only goes down if Vile's stage is located on that level. there are two other ones you could try.
i cant find viles area again, is it cus ive got all the normal powers ups and beat all the bosses???
IIRC you don't need any of the upgrades at all. All you need is Vava (Vile) dead, and Zero in that battle.
You can also kill Vava with the Tiger weapon, IIRC.

But i killed vile before getting all items and stuff and now i cant seem to find any capsules
Can you find the secret portals with X or do you have to be Zero to find them, or were you just playing as Zero at the time?
@hedgebogan the video only took me a few hours to fully record and finalize so not really.
By going into you start menu then pressing the L or R button to access the switch menu then hit start or select to call zero in
@pivotpcproductions if you still wanna know how to switch to zero, (and if you're using the ps2 version) go on the start menu and press L1 then start.

Correction you need to kill Vile with Ether the spinning saw blade OR the machine gun from the cat boss

@digimonextreme4 you are mistaking the ride armors as the chips. What you have is called the frog ride armor. In order to use it you need the Chimera Armor or the (N) chip thing located in the Blast Hornet stage. You need the Tornado fang to get it tho. (Rhino Boss power)

How to config game increase speed shot?
Not sure, unless you miss a few shots. But, dont worry. Just use Ray Splash or and other weapon to weaken him. Then just finish him off with the Saw Blades.

In the game menu that shows all your upgrades and and powers, hit the L or R button. I can't remember, It may even be the select button. Try one of those.
Yeah. It was the golden armor that lets you do that or the leg chip :)

How do you get triple jump? You dashed in the water then you did a double jump ip to the cliff part?

The gold chip allows you to Dash twice [even in the air], use a buster move that powers up as you take damage [it acts as the arm upgrade fully charged], Increases your defense, and most importantly allows you to gain health by standing still for awhile [it may take a long time of around ten or more seconds to start regaining health, but you can fill up your sub tanks this way] Why was it nerfed?
And also from viewing the mosquitus battle, I realize why zero could never go into a boss room. I

You can also use Ray Splasher on Vile.

oh. well go to your start menu and then hit L1 and hit the start button or confirm button to switch characters. be careful tho, zero only has one life. =)
After 11 years, I'm about to blow your mind. You don't need to have any other upgrades to collect Zero's saber.

I don't know why so many people assume you need to have the gold armor and stuff. The saber is also better without the buster upgrade.

If you get the z saber without the x-buster upgrade, you can use it on the 3rd charge. You only slash with it, no projectile, but it’s still busted.
Still, what madman would go to Doppler Lab without the armor( Especially consitering there isnt an alt part for if you wait like in X1 or Ultimate armor from the Zero virus stage in x5)

Hmmm...interesting. I did most of what was in this video but with few more things to get the saber.
-Beat Bit with the Ice power [he blew up instead of running away]
-Beat Byte with Ray Splasher [he blew up instead of running away]
-Beat Vile with Spinner Blade
and still got the saber. :D
You can also use the neon tiger weapon

I had absolutely no idea this was possible, I beat MMX3 in like 1996 or some shit, lmao. Thought I had done everything in that game.

I did everything this said, and I didn't kill Zero, and when I press Select, nothing happens. I checked to see if the boss was in the next room, and it was (obviously I used a save state there). WHY WON'T HE APPEAR!!!!!!! I went through a whole YT 100% playthrough on this and I can't get the Z-saber.
@Spagettieater9000 You need to use the saw blades or the ray splash. Otherwise he won't blow up.

Tip: Is not NECESARY kill Bite using Blades, i tested to kill him normally and later defeat Miniboss with zero sword and it works nice! ;)
Do you have start stage with Zero or swich to him near by Vile's Factory?!
Actually,you do not need to switch to Zero at all...You just need to kill Vile with either the Spinning Blade or the Ray Splasher,then beat that Mini-boss with Zero,and that's it...You also do not need to use those 2 weapons all the way when fighting Vile...

Well, Zero is not needed to do all his way to reach Bobba Fett... I meant, Vile.
Right?! You can reach him just fine with X and still use Zero for the specific miniboss and you'll be fine
The sabre is so much better than the hadouken or shoryuken.

for the record you dont need kill vile whit the special attack whit the X buster is Fine! As long you switch to zero before kill the flying robot mosquito. is a automatic game scene program to zero give the z saber after defeat mosquito. if you dont switch to zero. you also can play whit it for the end :)
German Bueno Wrong. I killed Vile with just the x buster and got gold armor and switched to Zero. There is no mini boss in that room at all.
im not that far in my LP but this helps a lot haha
