[TAS] SNES Mega Man X3 "100%" by Hetfield90, nrg_zam & GlitchMan in

- Опубликовано: 21 окт 2016
- This is a tool-assisted speedrun. For more information, see tasvideos.org/3241M.html. TAS originally published on 2016-10-22.
Mega Man X3 is the third game in the Mega Man X series, and the last one to be released on the SNES.
In this collaborative work, Hetfield90, nrg_zam & GlitchMan speed through the game very rapidly, collecting all heart tanks, subtanks, Ride Armor modules, upgrades and finally the Golden Armor.
It is a 0 () improvement over the previous run (tasvideos.org/2980M.html) by Hetfield90, thanks to a number of new glitches, explained in the authors' comments (tasvideos.org/5252S.html) .
See also the any% run (tasvideos.org/1910M.html) , which doesn't collect the upgrades but also collects the Z-Saber. - Игры

That moment is enough to make my 9 year old self shocked for childhood.
I love how the stage order in 100% runs is like a logic puzzle. "To save myself a revisit, I need to do Rhino before Buffalo. To optimize the Bit fight, I need to do Buffalo either first or second, therefore I start with Rhino first and Buffalo second" and then you just logically work it out like that.
I hate X2 and X3 because of X Hunters/Bit/Byte/Vile. They make very hard the choice of path to do.

This is how canon Megaman X moves. Also, anyone else notice how often this player does the 'cool guy explosion' trope? Everytime the enemy dies, they're either huddled in a corner, exploding, or X is facing away from them, all badass like, "He's dead Jim".
Well is the fastest thing
Mavericks: See "TAS" in title
Mavericks: Sweating profusely.
"It's not enough that our patterns are awful in this game. Nooo, now they're going to make us look even _stupider."_
"When it comes to you, Rhino, that's a feat in itself."
"GLASS HOUSES, SEAHORSE!"
Everybody gangsta till the Protagonist gets the TAS upgrade
@CharlesUrban LMAO 😂

X: "Zero I know this sounds crazy, but I'm gonna need you to clip through this flo-"

Tbh, When i got the Leg upgrade i just loved dashing Upwards for Absolute no reason *other than it looked cool*
To me it looks like the struggles to fart before he goes up lol
well you need it for the blaster upgrade and it also can let you dodge the ice dude if you time it right
I feel this exact same way
To give you an idea of time in my own context - I'm 30 and I got Megaman X for SNES when it came out so must have been Age 4 or 5. I've been stringing a little lately and I love doing quick playthroughs of Megaman X but I finally decided that it was criminal that I was never able to play X2 or X3. In fact I didn't even find out that they existed until I was in my twenties.....
( any gamer my age understands that at that time, you heard about video games through word-of-mouth by friends, the occasional magazine which I was too young to have a subscription to, or by seeing the cover art to it on the rack at the video game rental store. That's how you found out about games . And so because of this, many many of the so-called gems of that era are games that would have slipped through the cracks and you would have no idea what you are missing because hardly anybody was on the internet, and there were certainly no game reviewers, or even a website where you can watch videos on that simply did not exist in any capacity.
You could never look up a strategy until the middle to late 90s which was when segasages was a thing which became gamesages which became ign, and they were just text write-up of walkthroughs and code lists). So this led to many funny situations where people missed out on the best games for the console, or randomly people would play these games, and years and years later even until now the games are worshiped for being absolute gems from back then that people pretty much universally agree on to the point that they get called overrated! - which to me is unfathomable because although it's a bandwagon someone may have hopped on for the appreciation of retro games, to me it was part of my childhood.
A few of the funny situations it led to would be me owning three copies of EarthBound two of which had the Box and get this, my best friend gave me them because he hated it and only likes Mortal Kombat. His cousin gave him his old games that's how he ended up with two. I traded a Pokemon card for the other copy(Get finessed for a vileplume and wigglytuff Ryan gg). My friend Andrew gave me a copy of Evo and I would later get another copy of that with original box and paperwork as well as receipt. Superhot collector item right there very rare. Chrono Trigger when it came out my 74 year old grandmother purchased for me for Christmas on suggestion from the guy who worked at Toys R Us. (Nonna aka grandma went 5 for 5 on video game gifts for us actually the absolute legend knew naught of videogames and selected at *random* crono trigger, diddy kong racing, ocarina of time, mystical ninja goemons great adventure, and bomberman 64 (the good one). Amazing luck for real. Later on in life I was so excited and so happy to find out that many people like myself played Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy American 4, SMRPG:LotSS, tLoZ:aLttP, Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Safari, Battle Clash, Good Troop, Super Metroid and the list goes on... not only did other people that were talking about video games online now play these games, but even out of that list, the best ones in my unbiased objective opinion from my childhood with no outside influence or Nostalgia Factor, turned out to be the favorites of other people as well and not just a little bit but people really do agree on how good Cronotrigger, turtles in time, smrpg, megaman x, and ff4 were).....
I have a very rich history regarding the Golden Era of Nintendo when they made passion project games and try different things instead of Super Mario Landscaper or some other similarly out-of-touch game that they threw Donkey Kong or some other exclusive IP character at arbitrarily.
I can beat all the Mega Man X Mavericks with my eyes closed just by sound cues, and I could get through the game with an average of 2 deaths if you don't count intentional deaths which there are four.
Megaman x for SNES in its day to me was so good and so magical as a kid, it's been my favorite game for as long as I could remember. It had my interest before Pokemon hit hard. What I loved about it was the different types and the different colors of each boss. I love when there's variance in different types of things going up against each other, even in movies I still love this feature for example Smokin Aces.
Which is why when Pokemon came out and there were eight different colors of energy each representing a different strengths and weakness oh, it's stuck to me perfectly.
If I had known about X2 or X3 as a child I would have literally done a backflip. That many more Mavericks and colors and Powers. Again it's criminal that I missed out on those games but there was truly no way of knowing that they existed. I suspect that by the time X2 + x 3 were released, perhaps SNES games were being phased out of video game rental stores upon the release of N64 and then later Gamecube. Or perhaps they were rare cartridges and wouldn't commonly be found at a video store. I can assure you if I would have spotted it I would have ran for it and got it and also it would have stuck right out to me immediately if I saw the cover art.
So to me the other day when I was banging out another ex run I decided there's no way I'm going to let it go any longer. I'm going to try it out and going blind into it as well not looking up any bosses or Secrets or anything. So I did exactly that I finally beat X2 + x 3 this week at age 32 something 20 years later then I fell in love with the first.
Maybe it's Nostalgia at this point but number one was better than the others for me. The music is so iconic and memorable. Especially even now if you ever seen Family Jewels on RUclips his guitar covers are amazing. Two was better than three in my opinion. I've seen the later ones for PlayStation like 5 and 6 and 7 throughout these years but looking at them, they introduced a new character and you could play a zero with a saber and another character and stuff. As well as the graphics and the sometimes 3D, I just did not consider them the same game anymore. I think I played 10 minutes ago PlayStation version and said sorry but I do not love this. It was Mega Man X but it wasn't. I really really loved Mega Man 64 however which was a port of I believe both Mega Man Legends 1 and 2 pushed together into the same game? And Megaman Network transition to me was enjoyable. They weren't Megaman X Games so I didn't expect them to be. And all of the different types and grades weapons available in 64 was again right up my alley.
I almost forgot where I was going with this but, yeah, I played through the whole game without knowing you could dash upwards Lmao.... so now I want to go back and try it. I eventually looked up where to get the bonus items and had to use other tricks to get them. I did a dry run of each game first but then 100% it before I continue to the sigma stages. Imagine that, dashing up. We definitely live in a society

Yes long file/folder name, yes spaces in file names and yes NTFS-partition, yes case sensitive, uppercase letters, limited to FAT12/FAT16 Format 8.3 names.
I beat all mega man x's for super nintendo. I remember those days, you got a rush out of playing these games because the music was awesome and if you knew what you were doing and had skill you could fly through these games easy. Shouts out to the person who did this.
16:02 The door doesn't even know what the hell just happened

These tool assisted runs are always fun to watch.
34:12 "Change da world my final message: good bye"
the miniboss kill in neon tiger with the neon jump is insanely smooth
That's the only Megaman game that I got to play and it was and to this day is amazing. Just the variety this game offers, different unique locations enemies bosses everything looks so polished
So I think you will be sad(or happy idk) to know that this is considered to be the weakest of the snes, I don't think it's necesarily bad, but it is the weakest, if you can, play x1
@@player1marcio744 its subjective, i also like x3 more than x1
@@rickool07 like I said, I don't think it's bad, I quite like it, but I was talking about how the majority of people dislike this game, just like how that majority love megaman 2, personally, I prefer X1 because nostalgia, replayability and music, but the SNES trilogy is still amazing, and X3 also gave us Toxic Seahorse, which is like in my top 5 favourite mavericks
dam TAS is maybe by far the best speedrunner ever, hes played about every game!

I'm...just amazed that I never knew you could triple jump in this game.

One thing I don't get is that the background stops moving after X beats the boss. An example being the water in Tunnel Rhino. It's like it's frozen. Ugh.

Upwards dash and Golden Armor alone make this the best Mega Man game of all time. Then take into account the many ride armors and Zero's sword, and you have completely overkill in the series. No game in any Mega Man series was anywhere near as fun and good as this.
I like og megaman X for the nostalgia
The item collection is tedious, the bosses are honestly kind of boring, but I still love the soundtrack. In fact, X3 is ironically the X game I'm most fond of.
Megaman Zero 3 was more fun.
