StevenTyler (lead singer) launched Janie's Fund - named after Aerosmith's 1989 track "Janie's Got a Gun" - in 2015 to providing protection and counseling for young female victims of abuse, and he has helped raise over $2.4 million for the organization since then. Janie's House, established in 2017 in Atlanta, offers shelter for victims of abuse or neglect, with space for 30 live-in clients and 24-hour medical facilities available. God bless
you totally missed the point of the song. Janie was being sexually abused by her dad. The lyrics even say " What did her daddy do" "What did he put you through". Janie killed him because she thought no one would believe her. This song is about a girl Steven Tyler, who wrote the lyric, explained in the Walk This Way autobiography: "That song is about a girl getting raped and pillaged by her father. It's about incest, something that happens to a lot of kids who don't even find out about it until they find themselves trying to work through some major f--king neuroses
Right! Steven even says “he jacked a little bitty baby, the man has got to be insane” and then later they say, what did her daddy do? Janie’s last iou. Janie had to take him down easy and put a bullet in his brain. She said “ cause no one believes me, the man was such a sleaze, he ain’t never gonna be the same”
It's also the first reaction which paid attention to the song's vocal and rock qualities instead of focusing only on this dark issue.
It's a good song. I had the collection Big Ones by Aerosmith containing singles from the albums Pump, Permanent Vacation and Get a Grip. An irrelevant memory: when I was in the military (conscription military service in Finland for men) and was cleaning the assigned assault rifle, a guy at the same barracks room began humming "'s got a gun..."

Maybe you guys should do lyrics not to your videos cause you totally missed the point of this song, it about a girl being raped repeatedly by her father, her mother knows and does nothing, nobody believes her so she finally can’t take it anymore and kills him. Here are the lyrics and maybe getting this so wrong will teach you to pay better attention to the words in the songs.
