Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at another PATREON request with Aerosmith and their song "Janie's Got a Gun." Steven Tyler soars with his vocals, giving us grit and all that lovely rasp. It's the kinda song that gets better and better after every listen and the deeper you play it. I love this song. I admired them for tackling such a horrible subject.
You're right, it's very cinematic. The great film director David Fincher directd it! He's done a lot of good movies, mostly thrillers like Seven with Brad Pitt/Morgan Freeman, among others. He started out directing music videos and commercials. This video complements the song perfectly.
If I remember right the mother in the video is Lesley Ann Warren. Oops you already found the info...lol.
Steven Tyler's voice is incredible. He has a large mouth but he also must have, at least, 3 lungs and very special vocal cords. I guess he tremendously works to reach that level.
Unfortunately, as i'm French and was still a teenager in 1990, I couldn't listen to this kind of music. My father only wanted us to listen to French music. I discovered hard rock a few years later, in college, with friends, but couldn't listen to it at home. Thanks God, I met my future husband when I was 20 and we listened to the same music, he made me discover hard rock and new wave. He had very ecclectic tastes as he was also a fan of Serge Gainsbourg. For me, he opened a door to a wide new music world. He passed away in 2013 but i go on listening to "new" things he could have made me listen to.
I saw them live around 20 years ago - that drum beat was so effective! I will never forget that experience!!
I enjoy Aerosmith so much! Steven Tyler also sings a song-
‘ I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ also for the movie soundtrack of a movie his daughter starred in- her name is Liv Tyler. You enjoy music so much Derek and that sweet man is very contagious! Thank you for your reactions!

Lesley Anne Warren, she's been in tons of stuff! Videos back then were like little movies.
This is the 2nd act of their career. They started in the 70s and were legendary, very raw music. Dream On is the opus. Sweet Emotion and Walk This Way (which they did originally in the 70s, and collaborated with Run DMC in the 80s) are great. Back in the Saddle. So many great 70s songs. Then drugs killed the band..they got clean and came back in the late 80s with this incredible album. They had hit after hit and were more successful than ever. They're legendary.

Sexual abuse of children is horrific. I was like Janie. I was sexually abused by my adoptive father, and nobody believed me. And like Janie, my adoptive mother saw the signs and did absolutely NOTHING to put a stop to it. Unlike Janie, I didn't end his life though.
I am so sorry for you. What you are subjected to is terrible. I hope you have recovered from... I hope not taking his life gave you a decent life. And i hope you love yourself. Good luck ❤
