Seen them on the Permanent Vacation tour. Was a senior in HS. White Lion opened. We went as a group of 4 and all got split up during the show. Was grooving with some girl just met at the show. As we were jamming out loving the show holding hands her boyfriend walks over and I pulled a Ronnie Van Zant and took my 3 steps and found another spot to watch the rest of the show

Dude, the look on your face when it finally hit you what this song was about, says it all…. And that’s why Aerosmith made this song. Steven Tyler opened a rescue house for sexually abused teens too. Thanks you for playing it!

This song saved me. I was 16 when this song came out and I was dealing with this same situation at home. I told people for years and even my boyfriend called the cops and no one would believe me or him. Then one day I heard this song and I took things into my own hands. No, I didn't shoot anyone but I packed up a backpack full of clothing and left home at 16. It's sad when a 16-year-old feels safer living on the streets than at home.

Oh man, when this video came out MTV was in a tizzy. Because nobody had ever talked about this, not in mainstream, anyway. The subject was still taboo. But it's so powerful. And Steven Tyler started Janie's Fund for sexually abused girls that's still functioning today. There's so many great songs to choose from, but definitely Back In The Saddle and Sweet Emotion. My favorites are the more naughty ones like Love In An Elevator and Pink though lol

This predates law and order. This video was considered kind of groundbreaking because of its cinematic style that wan't done before in music videos. I'm sure it. set the stage for November rain, as aerosmith was extremely influential to gnr, in fact they opened for them right around this time. In the 70's they were so bluesy, but into the late 80's and 90's they were less bluesy and their musicianship was just top notch. So many great songs.

So many great songs in the 70's. Dream On, Sweet Emotion, Train Kept A' Rollin', Back in the Saddle, Walk This Way (original version), Same Old Song and Dance, and on and on.. They went for more commercial, pop-style ballads in the 80's and 90's, but in the 70's...they were a hard rock band to be reckoned with.

This is an amazing song and video tackling a subject that not too many artists took on. Steven Tyler started a charity for abused children when they released this song. When MTV first aired the video there was much controversy, but to MTV’s credit they kept playing the video on heavy rotation. This song came out on their Pumped album, what I consider the bands second life, after Joe Perry came back to the band a few albums earlier.
    Stay Cool 😎 and…

It's not Aerosmith, but a transitional segue ; from Janie's Got A Gun to Billy's Got A Gun by Def Leppard - good, heavy, album-closing deep cut from their 1983 album, Pyromania (this would be worth doing a "full album reaction", start to finish, 1 or 2 songs per video, cos every song is incredible).

A lot of the songs may not have videos but the music is great. Aerosmith, Toys in the Attic, Get your Wings, Rocks, Night in the Ruts, Draw the Line were all albums released in the 70's. There is also a "Live" Bootleg Album released in 78.

Public awareness was possibly broached early 70s with Alice Cooper "Dead Babies", then, I next remember Pat Benatar's "Hell is for Children". Both were looked at with jaundiced eye. Many years apart, much occured in interim. Then Aerosmith and Janie kept coversation going. It was a subject in much need of exposure.

I'd suggest a few from Rock In A Hard Place. If you really want to know the full "story "about AS this is certainly part of the history of the band. A fun jamming tune, Bolivian Raggamuffin, Bitches Brew, and Jailbait. A couple of different guys on this album and I think it has been better received with age. Good tunes on the whole album. As far as Janies Got A Gun goes, yeah its a very deep song and says alot. If it weren't so perfectly performed, and catchy, you may not pay attention to the lyrics. It's always been one of my favorites.

So I was born in 82. When I was like 8 my brother in law gave me my first Aerosmith tape, it was the album that this song is off of. This album also has hits like live in an elevator, what it takes, you should check out the original walk this way, also; uncle salty, Adam’s apple, sweet emotion, round and round, back in the saddle, nobody’s fault, home tonight, dude looks like a lady, hang mans jory, angel, come together, I don’t wanna miss a thing, hole in my soul, ain’t that a bitch, kiss your past goodbye, pink, fly away from here, never loved a girl, same old song and dance, spaced, train kept a rollin, seasons of wither, fever, shut up and dance, amazing, crazy, cryin, the other side, livin on the edge, kings and queens, she’s on fire, darkness, walk in water, rag doll, blind man, deuces are wild, eat the rich, last child, make it, one way street, mama kin, somebody, writing a letter, movin out, walk-in the dog, this is a list that are my faves. And it’s not even half their songs. They have 15 studio albums. Steven Tyler also has a couple of amazing pair ups too, he has a song with pink called misery, one with Santana called just feel better, one with Chris botti called smile, and one with bob Marley called roots rock( this one was done after Marley was gone, Steven just added on vocals to the track)

Great Reaction. I love their older stuff because I grew up on it (born in 73) but I feel like I kinda grew up & transitioned through styles with them, lol. Legendary. Steve Tyler's voice is one of the best of all time in my book. Sweet Emotion, same Old Song & Dance, Come Together, Pink, Crazy, Angel, Love In An Elevator, Living On The Edge, Rag Doll....all good tunes. Jamie's Got A Gun isnt one of my favs - ditto what you said about a theme song for a TV show.

    Next recommended Aerosmith song:
    “Walk This Way”
I recommend watching the music video. It has a plot twist at the end that will make you laugh.

Any 70's Aerosmith. The song Toys in the Attic is great but the whole album is fire. Anything off Rocks is good too. Rats in the Cellar. Back in the Saddle.

You need to look up Pink singing this song. I think it was at their RnR Hall of Fame induction. It's crazy.

People don't remember how controversial this was. This stuff wasn't spoken of in those days. There was one hell of an uproar. It's a powerful song, and, at the time, ahead of its time. It pre dates Law and Order, but that was an interesting comparison. i wonder if the folks on the theme for the show were Aerosmith fans. But yeah, this was a story that could've been done on SVU, but by the time SVU came out, it wasn't as taboo a topic. In the Eighties when this came out...no one spoke of such things. In small towns, people kinda knew...but nothing was ever said. On male and female sides of things. The past is a different country.

Check out their song Ragdoll. You can really hear Steven's scat style of singing at the end. So good. Great reaction!! 🙂
