Nice video and like your rod. I got new one few years ago used it couple times and found out the old fashioned way to fish esp with dry fly! All fun Charlie!! take care!
you've got that right, but we only kept 6... I don't like taking to many trout from any one pond. I have a few more ponds to go and pluck some trout out of.
Great video.. like Wayne said reminds me of being a young boy and standing behind my father as he would flip the trout behind him and I would put them in the basket..need to get one of those rods .. wish the trout were still around here in NS..but the bass are plentiful.. caught 45 yesterday and 26 today , lots of fun
@@cccmmm1234 There must be a ton of movies about tenkara style fly fishing on RUclips. It was the origin of fly fishing with rods without a reel. Similar style of rods were used in Europe (Alps and Balkan) from at least the Middle Ages.
yes 100% as Franky46Boy has said. It's better than a standard 9' rod in the way it is able to produce that wake on top of the water which seems to trigger the predatory response in species like speckle trout.
I never stocked any rainbow trout, and would never stock any... I hope others would have the same common sense as well. Speckle trout are much more tastier.
I had to re-sub to this channel. the youtube algorithm used to push your vids to me often. That stopped about a year ago and I forgot about this channel until I heard about the recent wildfires. My guess is yt doesnt like your snare vids. I do not like to have a long list of subscriptions so I only stay subbed to channels that produce regular content. I may have unsubbed back when Ghost Wolf was sick. My ancestors are from NL & Labrador. My dad taught me to snare in early 70's. I got good at it but, my heart changed and I no longer find the practice pleasant.
I don't know how RUclips algorithms work, I know it truly discriminates against hunting and trapping which I find discriminating against my native way of life and practiced traditions that we have done since time immemorial. You can tell when they are supporting your channel and when they are not. That's for sure, perhaps it's time for all outdoor channels to move to another platform.
Great fishing Chalie.......awesome buddy.
Glad you enjoyed
Wow. Good going. Lots of fun.
Yes it was! Thanks
Charlie and Wayne, you Gentlemen are having way too much much FUN….you did EXCELLENT with the Long Rod\Pole!
They are so much fun to use

Love the simple ways of doing things. It's been tested over the years, the generations and it's still a highly effective way of catching fish.
Good Morning from Mr. Garry and GBL-The Ole Church 5 Acre Homestead….10 Little Trout in the Freezer is Better Than a 100 in the Pond!

Congrats, Charlie, great fishing day!
Thanks 👍 This long pole sure is bringing me a lot of joy. Makes me feel like a kid again.
Nice Video,Nothing like troutin.
You got that right!

I enjoyed catching bass but enjoyed the taste of a trout over a bass on the table.
Will you got yourself a good feed trout. Both of you where having lots fun with the new pole stick. Works great. Have a good day.
yes indeed, we live by the Moto only take what you need and 6 nice pan size trout was what we needed.
Better keep the side by side key in your pocket ! Wayne's blue jay might show up again !
oh wow, I never thought about that, and the keys were in the SxS... They'll be in the pocket next time, you can be sure of that.
Grey Jay I meant!! You never know when 1 will show up
Man you can cast half way cross pond with that pole
Yep and it's so easy to use and carry, it just makes sense.
Great rig
Does that work well with flies?
Originally it is done with flies.
Tenkara fishing originated in Japan with dry flies and nymphs.
@@Franky46Boy Thanks. I will have to try it sometime on NZ trout.
In some ways it looks a bit like spey casting.

@@NLGhostWolf The last video I remember watching was when you were marveling over how little snow there was. Did that change ?
