You are absolutely right Charlie. I've never in my 70 years seen trees defoliating in mid summer like this summer. I too have noticed that birch trees are dropping their leaves in late August. It is very sad. The soil is baked in clumps making it difficult for root crops to develop. Someone in government better wake up & do something to stop the corporate insanity before it is too late.
Great video Charlie, you're right this is the second year in a row here in central the leaves are drying up and falling off the trees before they turn color and this year is even earlier than last year, Gander Lake is lowest I ever seen it. I watched this video on the lack of water on the island and I totally agree with you. We live in Corner Brook and I was in on lady slipper road on Sunday and noticed that the lake that the city takes its water from is down considerably compared to other years. Also the trees that you mentioned in your video I was talking to a guy with forestry and asked him about the trees and he said that it’s a mite that is in beaded between the outer layers of the leaves. I don’t what to think is the lack of water or a mite or is it both.

there are no doubt mites in some but not all, leaves on some trees are sun burnt.
Hopefully the right people listens Charlie. Altough, I'm not very optimistic that it will happen! 😢
