That is as close to paradise as a fisherman can get. Reminds me of Wyoming in the early 1980’s when I could catch loads of 13-19 inch browns and rainbows in streams even smaller than that one. So blessed to have had that opportunity.

That looked like real grizzly country. Been to Wyoming and Yellowstone 5 times in the mid to latter 1980s and tried never to fish alone in the backcountry. And rule #1, make a lot of noise. But the fishing opportunities out there are just fantastic. Dries like pale morning dun, royal coachman and Dave’s hopper worked really well. Back then the crowds disappeared just before Labor Day. So I tried to plan my trips just after the holiday. Funny how cold it could get within a couple of weeks of the crowds leaving. A lot of fond memories. Totally magical place with very agreeable trout.

Been "lurking" for some time while following your fly-fishing adventure across the inter-mountain west. Yes, there are these little gems to be found and once you find them they are typically a closely guarded secret. As a fellow fly-fisher and resident of MT, I appreciate your effort to keep these gems from becoming overrun and destroyed from receiving too much fishing pressure. Also, your efforts to keep from over stressing the fish after catching them is noteworthy as are your efforts to release them back into the stream. You have gained another subscriber.

It's nice to know that there are still places. You can go to pull some nice trout out out of a nice Stream. Where somebody can Goh and be completely alone. Without everybody and their uncle surrounding you. That's what outdoors are supposed to be like. That's a blessing that's what outdoor life is supposed to be. But pretty soon everything gets torn apart. By encroaching businessman who decide, we must build near this area. This way, everybody can get it on it. That's that's what's wrong with this world. When I was living in Colorado, I went with a friend and his family to break down their summer camp, before the snows made it impossible to get to. He told me to bring my ultralight or fly rod with me and the smallest lures or flies I had. It was up in the Rockies in a remote area and we had to use 4-wheel drive to get there. It was heavily wooded, with a small meadow that had a tiny stream about 3 feet wide running through it. This stream didn't have any "monster" fish like this video, but it was filled with Brookies behind every rock! We got his camp broke down and packed and did some fishing. I went home with a mess of tasty Brookies that evening!

The Adirondacks had truly awesome Native Trout fishing. Beautiful fish.
One year when we returned, there were no Trout anymore.
They were all wiped up from "Acid Rain" from NYC. (sulfur dioxide, or nitrogen dioxide emissions)
I will never forget how horrible that was.

I'm about to move away from the Texas Gulf Coast, an area I have loved all my life. For me, those are not monster fish. Please don't anybody take that the wrong way. I am doing a mental adjustment. The beauty of these areas is spectacular, the water is clear, and I can't deny how beautiful the fish are. I hope I still have the energy to make it to some of these places before I don't.
I know a lot of you would prefer that people stay where they are, but believe me the net migration into Texas is a lot more than the migration out of it. I appreciate the fact that I see you putting most of these fish back. It's a habit I haven't been very successful in getting people here to follow. The other thing I'm sort of starting to like is that when you say you caught trout, the first words out of peoples' mouths isn't "how big?" Thanks for giving me something to look forward to.

I'm not much into fishing, but what a beautiful area. Would love to just enjoy the scenery and water on a summer day

Nice stream for one of my custom made split bamboo rods. 7’ 4-5wt. Fun to make and really fun to fish with!

Gorgeous fishing spot! I caught a 26" Snake River Cut on the Taylor tail-waters in Almont, Colorado. The Pig Farm...water was so clear I was able to sight-nymph a pink scud.

Even as much as I would love to know where all these beautiful fishing spots are at it’s okay you keep them to yourself because I would rather it be hidden and taking good care of by people like you who actually care for the wildlife, thank you and gorgeous catches

Have caught a few nice trout in my life, mostly Sea Trout in Salt water, and a few Rainbows and Steelheads in fresh water, but havent ever caught one on a fly rod, sure looks like a load of fun!.

Great video. Been watching you for years, Id'a thought you find a new net by now and OMG, I keep waiting for your line to die so you buy some quiet line. Noisiest flyline on the interwebs. I moved from Utah to Oregon and I miss fishin around the rockies. Ida run my 3# on those fish in that stream. The Cutts I get here are that big and up to 20", fresh out of Tillamook bay.

Drew I’ve watched probably all your videos. After my last comment regarding your go to rigs I’m really happy with the video showing your favorite set up. Thanks so much. The detail on the foam hoppers and the size of your nymph plus weight was something I didn’t know. Never would have thought the hoppers would be able to handle that much weight. Thanks again as always be well take care. PS if you’re ever coming East to maybe fish the upper Delaware I’d love to know when. It would be great to meet you
