I bought a 2014 Elantra Limited last week, and LOVE it!
How's it holding up? Any problems?
aladin8150 It's AWESOME! I still love it just as much as the day I bought it off the lot. No problems at all! Almost at 4000 miles!
Nice car, beautiful color combo. Red always seems to go with tan or beige on a vehicle. I noticed the booster seat in the back seat. You're a real dad! My cousin didn't want to put his kid's car seat in the back of his 1997 J30 because he thought they would scratch his 14 year old "leather" seats but you stuck that bad boy right in there. Enjoy your car, I love that thing!!!

hey buddy, THANX! i LOVE this video. in 2011 i actually purchased my 2011 Hyundai Elantra Limited edition with the navigation and sunroof after watching this video SEVERAL times!! it still is in mint condition, and never had a problem! before this one i had the 2004 version (& still have it), so i was happy with the Elantras!! again this was awesome! i just came across it again, and thought i'd comment!!
So...i made a previous comment that this was going to be my next car....Well, I've had my 2012 Hyundai Elantra Limited in Titanium Grey Metallic for about a week and I'm in love!!!! It's the best!!! Just hope it lasts for the long haul. Can't go wrong w that warranty so I'm not worried! :). The interior cannot be beat. It's SO NICE. I got grey leather. Great vid, thanks!!! I have a 2005 Chevy Cobalt Coupe right now. I bought it brand new & it has not needed one major repair to this day...it has almost 110,000 miles & it's been great. This Elantra is the ONLY car I have liked since! Love the shape and love the interior! And most importantly, love the high ratings, improved safety, and PRICE! This is def my next car!!! I'm so excited I can't wait. :). This interior makes my Cobalt look like its from 1980. Lol. Thanks for the great vid.

You are correct. There is not a spare tire. However, there is clearly room to add one. Currently, Hyundai doesn't have a "package" to purchase for the tire but, you can still add your own "tire package". Most cars are now coming without spare tire
Good luck with getting a better deal. The Hyundai Elantra is the hottest car in the market. There are lines to get some of the models. I don't think you're going to get the car lower than that. A dealer has no incentive to lower cost with the high demand. However, I would definately shop around your finance rate. I got mine to 2.5%.
i wasnt a beliver...till i rented one for a road trip and let me tell you i was very impress with gas milage and ride everything what so ever

Any negative things that you have found so far about your car? With mine I noticed that just when you think your trunk is closed, it isn't. You need to hear that latch catch when you slam it or you would drive away with it still open. Also a slight whirr when you first start the engine, but that disappears. Highest MPG so far is 43mpg with 500 plus on the odometer. I average 35mpg with city/hwy driving in LA traffic. Love the car so far!

i like your real person review - Thanks!. that nav system operates great from the looks of it. thje car looks great except for those wheels. but i do understand Hyundai keeping their weight down to maintain/obtain the mpg advertised (i'd chuck em for a set i saw on the Veloster). it would be nice with just a bit more hp too.
Looks great! Is that Razorback Red? I bought one in black Saturday. I love it. You can't beat the quality, value, and style.
There is not a problem with the steering. However, I'm still trying to adjust the way I view the road. Having drove larger cars, my depth and focus points are virtually gone. There is no hood to view distance. There is also supports that are further back that I'm constantly trying to double check a blind spot for.
I have backed up into parking post twice now. Though the camera is great and would really love to see an audible sensor added to this feature

good review, the one thing i don't understand is why they offer spare tires. a few posts mention they kept the spare out so it would make 40mpg rating, but not sure why the spare is not offered as an option.
Come to think of it we have a 2009 with over 66K and never ever had to fix anything. Great mileage also.

It does not come with auto start or a sub woofer. The Cruze and Focus have good features too. However, in comparing features and warranty for what you pay, the Hyundai won.

Thanks for the review. You helped answer some questions that had me on the fence. My only issue now is picking a color. I'm not too crazy about all the available colors except the black, but that takes away from the body lines i wanna show off, haha.

Thanks for the comments John! I need to update the video to put an end to the naysayers out there. No major problems with car other than normal wear and tear. Absolutely still in love with this car! My friends can't believe all the options. However, I did replace the tires and the road noise and handling improved drastically.
I did test drive one, and I like it but one a few things I wish the us spec models had was the dual zone climate control which canada gets, and nicer leather seats which other markets get. and I would like to see a turbo option, like they are putting on the Veloster .
I'm seriously considering a new limited model. The value for the money is the big incentive for me. I do have a couple of questions if you can help me. Does the limited come with remote start? I've seen a dealer created video displaying the ability to remote start an elantra. Does it come with a sub woofer? I thought the 360 watt premium audio system included a sub woofer. Like you I've done loads of research over the past two months. I like the new focus alot and the cruze too.

i just bought a new one as well liking it so far i have a limited also but what i dont understand is it doesnt even come with a power seat

It is a 90 day subscription. My subscription happens to have Nav weather and traffic as well.
Great car and very informative review. I had a Toyota Corolla in the past and was decent but this looks to be significantly better in all respects. I also like the Mazda 3, but I prefer the styling of the Elantra and the fuel efficiency and warranty the cherry on top. Great color choice too.. looks extremely sharp. Thanks for the post
I honestly don't recall. I've always programmed my destination by hand. I do believe it simply says right turn onto street name.
Don't let something like GPS stop you from getting this car!

Nice Car man! Personally I have a Forte SX myself. Hyundai/Kia are doing an excellent job with their cars. I was looking at the Elantra as well, but I loved the 173 HP 2.4 in the Forte SX a lot haha
I just got one just like this but black. Also did my window tint but its much darker than yours. I think on black cars darker tinting looks more elegant, but thats my personal opinion. Anyways, great car, great value!
I have the same Color... its a headturner man... Love the way it rides and handles... Definitely eats the honda civic here in the philippines..great future ahead of hyundai.. =)
@CoyoteMan50 I have had no issues but have not tried to execute the warranty. I believe each dealer varies on their customer service. A written warranty is a legal document so I expect no issues.
nice review....it helped me decide to buy one. So far I am very pleased with it.
I'm a bit disheartened over the lack of a spare tire but I suppose it had to be done to reach the all important 40 mpg mark.

I've had a couple of questions concerning pickup and suspension regarding the Elantra. First, please consider this is a compact car. You do sacrifce some things because of weight and size. My suggestion is to DRIVE it. What I find acceptable, you may not. In all of my research before purchasing, every vechicle and some advantage. It was the Hyundai that won more of the advantages so I chose the Elantra.
Again, take a test drive between Focus, Mazda 3, Cruze and Elantra.
what blue link package did you get? I am probably going to buy this...its a great compromise when you want a car with alot of features and a sporty look. How does the blue link package work with this car?

I heard that the Korean Domestic Model also has Parking Asist Option. I know, people would say that's for the ladies option, but I don't know why they dropped that option for NA.They would sell more if they included that option as well, and earn a bit more money
I just bought one with 91K miles for a good deal. It’s in beautiful condition. I stumbled upon it by luck and I guess it was meant to be lol. Overall I love the car ❤️

Pick up is decent. No problems merging into highway traffic or passing in the passing lane. I would suggest you take a test drive to see how it is for you because my idea of it having decent pick up may be different than yours.
I can tell you I'm a farily good negoiator. My final price (without tax) was between $22,000-$24,000. I also paid $5,000.00 down and got 2.5% financing.
In regards to ride quality and handling/ As I said in the video, the Cruze, Mazda 3, Focus and Elantra are all compact cars. The most fun to drive is the Mazda 3. However, unless you plan on speeding through the streets or driving an obstacle course, the Elantra is adequate. No other vehicle can touch the Elantra for price vs. features.

I almost bought this car it was between this and the focus and yes this is a great car but i bought the focus and a couple weeks later car and driver and motor trend tested every single car you mentioned and the focus won both times, just food for thought
Nice looking car. Now that you've had it 7 months or so, how is the comfort and the reliability? My friend has a Santa Fe and has driven down from NY to Florida in it and he puts a lot of mile son it, and it has never missed a beat. Just wondered how good the Elantra is. Love the red as well, btw.
I have a question, Im going to be buying one of these in the coming months yet when I call with this question, no one seems to be able to answer it. Since you have it maybe you can. Does the GPS in the car have voice navigation? Does it say the name of the streets or does it just say "turn right here"
And can you input the info into the GPS by speaking out loud or do you need to type it in?
Nice car! almost bought this due to its attractive body but ended up buying a 2013 KIA rio... In any case these Korean car companies are doing fantastic job! they give you the most bang for the buck!
I know it's not a race car, but how is the pick up on this bad boy? im very interested in this car the 40 mpg on the highway is very appealing and im almost certain ill end up getting an elantra. I haven't test driven one yet so i was just curious how she is on the road.. thanks
Can you tell me how the suspension is on rough roads, I am hearing bad things about the suspension being horrible over rough roads & am pissed since I wanted one of these but a bad ride is not something I want lol Thanks!

The suspension is fine in my opinion. But like most things, it depends on what you're comparing it to. It's best for you take a test drive and tell the dealer your concerns and ask them if they know an road in the area that is rough to you can test the suspension roads.
My post concerning the Hyundai Elantra is not open to debate. It is my review. It is also based on my finicial assesment of "value". And compared to the other manufacturers on similar models, the Elantra's value is higher.
Warranty? Features? Mileage? Safety rating? All have significant value. I believe Kalargyi is confusing value with pricepoint. Those are (2) entirely differant categories.

Hi - yes - great car - I have the coupe SE with all the toys and it is FANTASTIC. Needs a bit more power, but hey - you can't argue with the fuel economy! Nice review.

I know there are several other post concerning the night illimination. I have changed all of my interior lighting to blue led which also adds to the look. As for Bluetooth calling, I've got an outdated company flip phone. Basically, pair up and speak number to dial. While you may load pictures, I've not seen anyone have the ability to playback video.
did you solved the HID flickering issue ? I am getting my Red Allure Elantra next week and got the xenondepot volt hid kits, i just hope not to have that flickering issue as you mentioned
As I will upload a new video soon, the only issues have been road noise, lack of audio sensor with back up camera and my learning curve of the blind spot. The road noise was fixed with an engine hood pad. As for the mpg, interstate is great. In town is all over the place but I know through experience not to believe mpg posting. I am still satisfied.
I trying to get mine in gray limited with nav. My dad is betting me I cant get it for less than 25,000. And I say that even if they are flying out of show rooms i shouldn't pay more that the msrp indicated by hyundai's official website. +Question? how is the ride quality and handling?
@RuNwitSciSsoRs Yes, you can give navigation information while driving. It could even dial the number as well. Very cool stuff.
I know some cars (Kia Optima) have features such as Sirius that last for only 3 months unless you want to subscribe... Does the same go for the Elantra's XM radio or is it longer and also do you need to subscribe for it to be longer?

While doing some research on this car I've noticed that it doesn't say anything about coming equipped with a spare tire or even having the option to include one with the car. Is that true?
Pretty heavy tints i think, how much visibility percentage or criteria is set for tints of car passenger visibility from outside?
I am not aware of turbo with any Elantra model.

Good idea, I have since replaced the interior lighting with blue leds and added HID headlights plus new speakers/amp. I'll see what I can do.

@rctriplefresh5 Some cars seem to have issues with the AC cranked up. This car has no issues at all.

I have an 2008 and drive like i stole it. Never had to go back for warranty repair or anything. They just get better. Hyundai have changed over the last years.
I have a question. I have the xm radio package, but for some reason, I can not access the xm data for the weather. Do you know of that is extra a month? The option button appears on my nav, but when I go to click it, it doesn't do anything. :(
