M.E.........I had always thought my 15 minutes would have come differently than as a shout out at the end of a road test & review video. Nonetheless, I am grateful that it came from you!!!!!! Great review and am looking forward to your next one. Miss you.
I like this reviewer. I especially like the fact that she doesn't have the feel that she's reading from a script and a spec sheet and rather just tells you the straight facts.
@Jabid21 It does not have a actual spare tire, but its for more than just the one reason. It also saves space and the tire mobility kit is a much simpler solution. You dont have to take the wheel off you simply put the sealant in and use the compressor to fill the tire with air again. Hope that answers your question.
Nice Scotty shoutout lol :P and you do awesome bloopers lol. Oh and you're not bad a reviewing cars either :P. I agree with you about the transmission. Just make an auto and auto and a stick a stick. and don't penalize me if I want to row my own gears. You're a true blue car enthusiast, Emme. Glad you're on the Roadfly team :)
In Canada, I have a 6-speed manual 2011 Elantra GLS which has handsfree/bluetooth, heated front and rear seats, sunroof, fogs, etc, but it wasn't available in the top trim (Limited) which has the nav/backup camera. I'm surprised they wouldn't offer the same options in the US as they do in Canada.
@roadflytv This is a great review. Emme was so informative and creative in her approach. I was wondering if you guys were doing a review on the new Ford Focus or Chevy Cruze anytime soon. Also I just wanted an opinion on which compact vehicle new or used, would you recommend to a college student on a tight budget. Thank you!!!!!!
She could be reviewing a lawnmower and I would love it, she's great. I have watched a bunch of her car reviews, she clear, to the point and is entertaining with her personality.
@tjstreeter you should realize that the acceleration issue was the drivers fault. have you ever thought that they might have been freaking out and pressing the gas instead of the break?
been watching your reviews... i love how you seem to know what you talking bout plus you have a cool sense of humor. .. best lady reviewer.. go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the Kias and Hyundais. My 2002 Rio is getting close to replacement, and I'd like another Kia, so, is the Forte the same car as the Elantra? Thanks, Emme. (Emmy?)
I am considering getting the GLS version sometime next year 2012, I am just curious how noisy this car is especialy driving in the hiway at 110 kph or 70 mph ? I like the blooper on this video.
I'm looking into the 6 speed stick as whole "value" package works for me. Also isnt this car equipped with a GDI motor (Gasoline Direct-Injection) that also contributes to the fuel efficiency?
@roadflytv The canadian model you have more options and trim models, and on there version you can get a six speed manual with heated front and rear cloth seats and bluetooth etc. but sucks that we cannot get it.
personally, i dont think the ride is stiff at all although i am driving the limit trim. in fact, i find it comfortable...maybe little firmer but not harsh. The handling to me is very responsive but this is not mazda 3. i think hyundai is making a huge comeback lately. first the genesis, than sonata, now the elantra.
I like this reviewer, but I wish she'd change the tone of her voice more and maybe slow down the cadence to be a little more deliberate so the points are more concise. I'm impressed with her knowledge and impressions of the car though. very informative.
elantra has got to be my favoritecompact car now, all hyundais are amazing though, the elantra looks so much better than the 2012 civics believe me I drive them all day and hate them, elantra looks the best, its best on gas, has the most features, the cheapest price, and best reliability, hyundai i take my hat off to you lol cant wait for a veloster
I bought this car a few months ago, got a great deal, also looked at the 2015 Civic, Corolla, and Ford Focus, but in the end i bought the 2016 Elantra. Plus I got an incredible deal on the Elantra during thanksgiving weekend. Traded in a 2007 Mazda 3, which had given me problems with the AC for the last 40,000 miles, so, I was not going to consider a Mazda for the time being.
I like the car, but it's not as agile and fun to drive as a Mazda3. The Elantra is overall quieter than my 2007 Mazda 3 was, but the issue is the Elantra has a torsion beam suspension, which is not as good as an independent rear suspension. I knew this when I bought the car. When you're driving over smooth roads, and highways the Elantra is great, but if you hit potholes and other disturbances in the road, it really jolts the car. Also wish the pick up was better on the Elantra, then again, I had a stick shift Mazda 3, so I was used to shifting a lot of times to maximize the acceleration. I would tell you this, if you want something really sporty, get the Mazda 3, or the VW Golf. Maybe even check out the Honda Civic SI when it comes out. But if you're looking at the Corolla, or the regular Civic, the Hyundai Elantra competes very well against those two cars. I will also add, that when I test drove the Ford Focus, I FN loved that car, and the way it handled, but the issue is that I wanted to get an automatic transmission, and the dual clutch auto trans has been problematic for a few years on the Focus, not sure if this issue has been resolved yet, but didn't want to jump into a car that might have a major issue on it.
***** Good luck, I know that making a decision can involve a lot of research, I admit, I think Mazdas are great cars, and despite the AC issues i had with my Mazda3 it was overall a good car besides that major issue. I would recommend staying away from Mitsubishi, GM, Chrysler, and definitely don't even bother with Fiat. I also am not a fan of Nissan when it comes to their smaller cars, the Sentra always seems like it's lagging behind. And to be honest, I don't care for VW, because they are expensive to maintain and repair.
P S I had also a Mazda 3 mines was an 09 and I had the issue with my ac too like yours and plus my car had to be in the shop every Other month and I recently bought a 16 Elantra as well after looking at 15 civic, 15,16 Corolla and 16 Sentra but the Elantra was better fit for me
Here in Canada you can get a GLS manual which does have bluetooth hands free, front and rear heated seats. Although the rears are just heated on the bottom. I know cause I own one. Yeah it sucks no nav or back up camera or leather if you want a stick
@bingoe4 IDK how much more cost the manual shift function adds to an auto transmission. It's useful when you want to have daily auto relaxed driving, and drop down a gear to pass/when exiting a turn. A little spirited driving. I think it's a great thing to have, and hyundai should have it to compete with other companies.
@bingoe4 There are times when you don't want to have the lag of stepping on the throttle harder to downshift, and you would use sport or manual shift mode. Also, the more expensive VW transmissions you are referring to are a totally different thing; dual clutch. Dual clutch transmissions can shift faster than anybody in a traditional manual tran. and are becoming the standard for high end sports cars.
@TSOCD With that argument. Your stating that everyone that drives a Toyota is a senior citizen and no longer has the ability to make the determination between the gas and the brake pedal. Actually. That sound's about right. LOL
YES, I agree, no in between shift/not shift...I hate the GM models button shifter...it doesn't do anything...it won't shift when you want it to! I dread the day that I won't be able to buy "STANDARD" transmission cars, and I hope manual stays forever.
It is so strange that just 5 years Honda was leading the "brave" design in the affordable car segment... and their new Civic looks 5 years OLDER than this Elantra.
I totally agree with her about transmissions: either auto or manual...no in-between crap! She would seem a bit more serious about her comments if she nixed the pink hair, though.
Love this host. So full of personality and actually sounds like she's speaking from the heart and not reading off a script.
I appreciate adding in some bloopers at the end, makes the reviews more fun.
Both Emme, and Hyundai, have been churning out winners lately! Getting better and better
M.E.........I had always thought my 15 minutes would have come differently than as a shout out at the end of a road test & review video. Nonetheless, I am grateful that it came from you!!!!!! Great review and am looking forward to your next one. Miss you.

the review i was waiting for! thanks Emmy, great work!
I'm 6'4" 220lbs and have tons of leg head room and body room. Love this car....
I drive one, and surprisingly, a lot of my friends are impressed. Things are definitely looking good for Hyundai. They're heading the right direction.
@Jabid21 It does not have a actual spare tire, but its for more than just the one reason. It also saves space and the tire mobility kit is a much simpler solution. Just got a 2013 GLS with preferred package for 18400. Excellent ride very roomy and interior materials are first rate live it!!
Hands down the best reviewer on Roadfly!
In Canada, I have a 6-speed manual 2011 Elantra GLS which has handsfree/bluetooth, heated front and rear seats, sunroof, fogs, etc, but it wasn't available in the top trim (Limited) which has the nav/backup camera. I'm surprised they wouldn't offer the same options in the US as they do in Canada.
i drove the 2013 limited edition. its was AWESOME! i referenced you in the video with your amazing scottish accent Emme!!!!!!!!
Excellent Review, the jacket is flashy but not overwhelming.Ooh wait this is a review about a car, yeah good stuff.
we need more car reviewers like this!
omg i love her to death she is the best reviewer ive ever seen by far
@roadflytv This is a great review. Emme was so informative and creative in her approach. I was wondering if you guys were doing a review on the new Ford Focus or Chevy Cruze anytime soon. Also I just wanted an opinion on which compact vehicle new or used, would you recommend to a college student on a tight budget. Thank you!!!!!!
yeah i got the manual version and was kind of disappointed of the lack of Bluetooth.
@ddnn3 actually the Hyundai Veloster has a dual clutch transmission too, and its about 18 grand
been watching your reviews... i love how you seem to know what you talking bout plus you have a cool sense of humor. .. best lady reviewer.. go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the Kias and Hyundais. My 2002 Rio is getting close to replacement, and I'd like another Kia, so, is the Forte the same car as the Elantra? Thanks, Emme. (Emmy?)
The way she described the coupe like feel is exactly like the new S60. The back seats are hard to get into with the back roofline.
I am considering getting the GLS version sometime next year 2012, I am just curious how noisy this car is especialy driving in the hiway at 110 kph or 70 mph ?
I like the blooper on this video.

think shes one of the best reviewer on RUclips
@roadflytv The canadian model you have more options and trim models, and on there version you can get a six speed manual with heated front and rear cloth seats and bluetooth etc. but sucks that we cannot get it.
Looks like a great everyday driver's car. Starting to see more on the road. Interesting.
I like Emme Hall's reviews, they're funny :)
Surprised to see a girl doing a proper review!
Thanks! :)

The handling to me is very responsive but this is not mazda 3. i think hyundai is making a huge comeback lately. first the genesis, than sonata, now the elantra.
I just bought the Elantra GS Coupe! It is amazing in every way Emme! Please please please do a review of the Coupe! :)
I like this reviewer, but I wish she'd change the tone of her voice more and maybe slow down the cadence to be a little more deliberate so the points are more concise. I'm impressed with her knowledge and impressions of the car though. very informative.
uh oh Emme in the buildin'. Holla!
bloopers are fun. liked.
EMME! are you going to review the Prius C?
I Like this reviewer than anyothers from roadflytv ! Dont misunderstand me , but shes kinda Fun , not too boring like another reviews !!! U-GO-GIRL~
Nice commentary. Good information, good car. thanks for the review.
@boboblocks forgot to mention the 2011 jetta with the civic and the corolla
elantra has got to be my favoritecompact car now, all hyundais are amazing though, the elantra looks so much better than the 2012 civics believe me I drive them all day and hate them, elantra looks the best, its best on gas, has the most features, the cheapest price, and best reliability, hyundai i take my hat off to you lol cant wait for a veloster
Liked the humor and the review.

the elantra is nicely styled and comparative in price and formally competes with it's competition especially the 2011 nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In Brazil this car costs $ 41,000 manual transmission.
The top model in Brazil costs $ 48,000
Taxes absurd!
Thank your country!

@JT30CA yea but isn't this car in the same price range as a honda or toyota?
Is it true that this car doesn't have a spare tire to meet fuel economy goals?
@bingoe4 IDK how much more cost the manual shift function adds to an auto transmission. It's useful when you want to have daily auto relaxed driving, and drop down a gear to pass/when exiting a turn. i love emme so much
I never knew their was an Elantra in the 60's!!
Its no Topgear, rather a sensible review for a sensible car.
Good review Emme
8.7 sec to 60 is faster than most american cars
No BlueTooth with the manual? That should be required equipment.
@bingoe4 There are times when you don't want to have the lag of stepping on the throttle harder to downshift, and you would use sport or manual shift mode. it is a good all around car, its one ill recommend to a lot of people i know
I wish the Elantra had a hatchback because of the look of the back.
@Mik5OO i agree. i think the jetta looks way more sophisticated. i think the elantra will look dated rather quickly.
Awesome review! Thanks!
wow what a jacket
Great review!
A woman that drives in boots and is drop dead gorgeous.... I think I'm in love
ok ok, but will it blend?????
cool looking car i might go for a hyundai for my next car.
thanks great review
accent was PRICELESS! best description of the engine though!!!!! HAHAHA!
epa says elantra is a midsized x2 huh?
@TSOCD With that argument. Your stating that everyone that drives a Toyota is a senior citizen and no longer has the ability to make the determination between the gas and the brake pedal.
Actually. That sound's about right. LOL
great review

Good Review!........"Dammit Jim, I'm not a miracle worker..I'm a simple country doctor." :)
MORE BLOOPERSSS!!!!
"cubic fate of speece" lol! nice review.
i just cant do it captain, i dont have the power--jim carrey said that in ace ventura..real original
A solid 10 for Design
She should have done a Korean Accent when she was talking about the engine noise LOL
The EPA said what?
@datpimpinboy thanks tips, you are also commenting again and again FYI. I am making complete sense, but I am sorry if you are unable to understand.
nice review.
Yeah, this is a good review!
@datpimpinboy Yea it's the video editor's fault for not cutting out either one of them lol
I love the rear but the front it a little odd to me
Excelent the new elantra!!!!!!
It is so strange that just 5 years Honda was leading the "brave" design in the affordable car segment... and their new Civic looks 5 years OLDER than this Elantra.
4:23 best part
"I can't do it captain...I don't have the power" - hahahah thats a fact Hyundai!
720p please
The new Elantra is super nice, soooo much better than the Corolla!
I totally agree with her about transmissions: either auto or manual...no in-between crap! She would seem a bit more serious about her comments if she nixed the pink hair, though.
haha this is entertaining but still does a good job on the review overall
Repeat fail in the edit at 1:30
You repeated what you said.
@nickitheninja5 yeah I think the Accent is compact
Is she wearing enuff tones of red?
I got one Blue!!!! yeah!!!!
Well, I agree for the most part. It helps to drive stick though.
@yummy1234098 Alright, I'm not sure about actual pricing. The guy was talking about VW's, but I realize many companies have them.
I like that Hyundai elantra and it's way better looking then that Toyota corolla. ^_^
No manual transmission in the top trim level turned me away also.
