Very nice setup it's about what I wanted to do myself! We learn so much in teardrop about life, people, and more...
More great tips and ideas, you have that sucker rigged up nice! Thanks for sharing with us Kevin.
Thanks for the tour of your rig (and all of your practical suggestions!) I am currently saving up for one of these and looking at all current owners' experiences to help make my final choice. I also appreciate your willingness to learn by doing! God Bless :)
Very nice camping set up ! WE used a Weed sprayer (a new one) for our shower with a round dish pan to stand in for the water catchment. Works great. Then we got a bucket and put an elderly potty chair (got that for $4 at an estate sale) over it. Inside the bucket we use bags and kitty litter (if you want to be eco friendly use the cedar chips and coco peatmoss), and discard when we are done camping. It works great - no smell. WE also got the large pantagonal screened in canopy. This is really nice. I would love to add the Runnaway Camper to replace our truck tent.
thank you for taking the time to film this
Thank you for watching William.
Hats off to ya brother for mentioning the changing of the guards and flight 93. We also took the trip with our then 11 yr old daughter....flight 93 Memorial definitely pulls at the heart strings but also makes ya feel honored that common Americans made some uncommon choices that day that saved many lives.
Nice setup. The old lady and me are fixing to take a trip here soon. Getting a bit excited.
well i hope you guys have a good time, thanks for the comment joe
The camper looks great. I,m glad yaw had a good time. You done a great job fixing it up.
thanks danny
Nice video Kevin. It's been fun watching you make your Runaway your own.
Thank you for watching Wendy and thank you for the comment.
Thanks Kevin for the video! You have such great ideas, very informative.
thanks bonnie glad you enjoy them.
Great review. Thanks for the details of real life usage.
Pick up a Mainstays (brand) Non-skid Rug Pad at Walmart. It's light weight easy to fold or roll up and will keep your bed in place. You can also cut it down and line your shelves or gear boxes with it to keep things from sliding around.
Thanks for the info.
I have a Navigator and I enjoy seeing all the things you've done with yours. The floor was rough on my knees, so I put puzzle piece mats down, and the mats seem to reduce items being shifted during transport.
great tip donna thanks for sharing
Kevin Robinson ---- For your bed go to the 99 cent store and they sell this stuff by the roll it's for putting under your dishes and glasses in cabinets or for under rugs put that under your matts and they won't slip around. Good luck and Happy camping !!! 😊
i put a nice rug in mine
Great video Kevin! Appreciate you sharing your ideas.
Thank you David for watching my videos.

Kevin, great overview of your setup. It answered a lot of questions.
Thanks David for the comment.
great review, very helpful as I'm considering one
Good little camper fun.
Good setup Kevin...thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching R johnson.
Great job on the review and the camper. I don't know the Va area but if you get a chance, there is nothing like the West. Rocky mtns, Yellowstone, the redwoods, the black hills, Monument Valley, it just goes on and on. God blessed us with so many wonders in this country.
i would love to travel out west hopefully one day i can .thanks for the comment dark water
Amen
Kevin I must have watched you Runaway videos 3 times each by now. I have mine and have been doing mods on it for two months now and have used many of your ideas. I will be making you a video soon and cant wait to share it with you. All best. PS love the belt sander progress. Thank you!
I can't wait to see let know thanks my friend.
Great setup! We love our Runaway too!
Thanks for the comment.
Looks great Kevin, just got back from camping on Cape Cod in my Runaway, this was the first place that I've been that had cable TV, it was great. I need a longer cable too, it just reached. Thanks for sharing.
yeah i will be getting one before my next trip.thanks hatch

Hatch61 Where did you stay at Cape Cod? Going to spend July in New England and my son lives at the beginning to the Cape. Also, we will be going to VT, ME [Acadia Nat'l Park!]NH and CT

Thanks Rob my friend.
Good looking setup
Thanks Aq.
thx for the review and ideas
Thanks for the comment.
Hey Kevin, I really enjoyed this video. It was nice to see the way you've got things set up. I really liked your shower station and toilet I thought it was a great idea. I'll have to get me one of those. I appreciate that you talked about the moisture in the camper because we don't necessarily think of that when we're Gung ho to start rolling down the highway, and that's something one should be prepared to deal with. One other thing I thought I'd mention. As long as it works for you and your wife. And you two are content with it. Just enjoy yourselves. Please keep the videos coming. Thanks
Thank you for the comment I enjoy all the comment do you have a runaway camper?
lol the 50's is not cold at all, thats great sleeping weather
brian simpkins i
Summer time in the Adirondacks.
I know right?! That’s perfect mild fall camping weather! 😅
looks like you have a nice set up.enjoy
Thank you James.
Thanks for the vid. Cass WV seems like a great place to visit.
well we will find out soon and will let you know clermont.
I would put that kinda carpety - fuzzy stuff on the walls - it insulates and also absorbes the condensation. Maybe those lightweight plastic drawers? They make long ones that are not too wide that could fit - Walmart has them. Thank you for sharing this was neat - I want to build one out too.
Go to the dollar store and buy you some Damprid. If y'all have a Dollar Tree, you can find it there. You can put it in your camper and it will help with condensation. Thank you for sharing!
great thanks for the tip paul i will be trying that
Damp rid ROCKS!
Paul D. Green I use them in my 🏠 they are Great.
Those little silicone packets that come with new shoes are good to throw in drawers and bags too. Just put them into the sunlight to dry out then reuse them.
Hi Kevin, Harry here in Ocala Florida With my RandgeRunner . Great to see you are using the camper. Nice set up, enjoy.
Thanks for the comment Harry.
Hi Kevin Robinson! I just finished watching this Video while taking notes! Nice set-up! Thank for your detailed reviews. The opening scene showing your site set-up is perfect! I sat here with my smart phone and took a couple pics to go with your explanations. Thank you for sharing...I subscribed, too. Going to watch your Solar Power install next! I Wanna "Runaway"!
I'm upgrading to a box trailer 6 x 10 I will be building a camper out of it.
Take a look ruclips.net/video/QCln82mZXcQ/видео.html
Watching!
Great review and great job on this camper
Thanks dan.
Kevin Robinson welcome Kevin
Great video thank you!
thanks for watching zagg.
As long as you are still learning, that is a good thing.
That's right thanks.
My range runner was ordered. I'll be new to camper travels too as a middle age woman. Look to your ideas as well new subscriber
Just take your time and have fun
great video and info thx!!!
Thanks for the comment Micki.
Good video. Well done!
Thanks for watching.
Well done
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for that Kevin, glad you had a good trip. Try using some Velcro to hold your bed together, You could stick the mattresses together and even stick them to the floor?????
That would work thanks Peter.
A small dehumidifier will take care of your moisture problem. Long term a little moisture every night could cause excessive damage. Thanks for all the tips.
Thanks Rodney good info.
Hey Kevin.. I got a 25ft coaxial cable at Best Buy with your name on it. Lol. Loved the review. I am jealous of the camper. Would love to escape in one for about a week. Dan
I saw another video where a guy had moisture problems like you said.. He put a water guard for a sunroof over the top of the window. It's the perfect size and it allows you to keep windows open even with rain.
Looks really cool Kevin if you make another trip or two you might tell us about how often you're going to have to lube those axles and how to go about it
William I will do a video on the axles thank you for the idea William.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
yeah... thanks!
Hey Kev nice tour, I think some additional shelving inside the Runaway will help out a lot with your storage issues
Shelving is coming soon thanks Mr. Waynes.
Like your videos! As far as your "mattress" pads moving around, you should try sewing the edges together! You would still be able to fold them into seats and keep them from coming apart!
Thanks for the idea oldschooldiy.
Hey bud, how about non slip shelf liner under your bed?
Looks good!
I enjoy your content Kevin, and a great job on the camper. That is a nice set up you have. I initially looked into getting one of these I just don't know if I could handle having to crawl into it all the time. I would definitely go for the larger one. I am even considering a cargo style trailer made by Weeroll something that I could stand up in. I haven't completely given up on these though. I like it and great job.
yeah brad the small one is a bit tight, but if you could get a bigger one i would definetly do that, thanks for the comment.
i got an air conditioner in mine when it was made/bought
Get you some Damp Rid to help with keeping moisture out of the camper :)
I do use damp rid in the cargo trailer camper we built it works great thanks for the comment my friend.
A fellow yinzer, nice setup!
Thank you for watching and comment.
Back in the 60's, my family drove out to Colorado and California. One time we had a 58 VW bus which my father converted to sleep 2 adults and 3 kids. We also had a 9x9 tent. I liked the tent better. Later, we got a truck body trailer for hauling the tent (15 x15 now) and pulled that with a 63 Nova. It was my job to put the tent up. Got it down to 15 minutes including the center pole. Anyway, I was wondering if you couldn't build a false floor in the camper to make extra pocket holes to hide more storage space. Shouldn't be too hard to do if you're only sleeping on the floor. Good Luck.
I think it could be done love the story sounds like fun.
Good review - yep 5' wide better for two folks
Cheers
You are right Patrick.
go to the Dollar Tree and get the no grip for cabinets you roll it out for a dollar and it will keep that in place
Thanks for the idea Tamara.
price and weight of ur tv and where, thanks and how u hooked it up
Hey im West Virginia and youll love the train in the fall im live northern central West Virginia 40 minutes from Morgantown
I've rode the Bald Knob train and the Durbin Rocket both was a lot of fun thank you for the comment.
Love your setup. I know this video is old but velcro would help with the mattress and plastic drawers would be good for storage at the front. they have some pretty brown weave ones. a shelf over the plastic drawers would be good so the top don't give in.
Thank you for the comment and for watching.
As soon as I heard the "Yinz" I knew you were from PA 😀
lol i have a bad habit of saying that
what brand are the chairs and where did you find them?
Nice setup. I saw a 10-10 pop up tent that had a snap on screen/cabin tent. It had a private room for portopotty built in . Thought one of these would work for cleaner camp .
I plan to pickup a runaway when I move back to east coast next year.
Richard i will be building a 6 x 10 box trailer into a camper.
i have a video ruclips.net/video/QCln82mZXcQ/видео.html
Kevin, in hindsight would you have liked the 6' wide model better. I was think of that one after watching your videos. You have done a great job on this.
I think Your right maybe one day I will build one. Thanks FlyingGyros.
im from west virginia :)
You should get a rug that doesnt keep water, there is some kind of plastic carpet in Giant Tiger stores
Kevin, you should get a dometic fridge. Watch Rusty78609, he loves his fridge and has reviewed it.
thanks rav i will check it out.
you can go to walmart and buy velcro strips...to attach the cushions....looks good
Thank you Theresa.
Kevin, have you looked into inverting your suspension on your camper to give you more ground clearance? It's also make towing a little easier too.
no i haven't really thought about it but i might in the future ruben
you might want to invest in a futon for the bedding
Kevin, Loved the video, great ideas and informative. I looked through the comments but didn't see what type of antenna you had. and how you attached it. Could you let me know. I'm looking for one to put on my Slice.
Rob in Missouri
I have a video on it Robert ruclips.net/video/Pjl16TtrKwM/видео.html
about coolers... putting the ice inside 1 or 2 of the dry bags kayakers use to keep gear dry makes it easier to dump the ice melt and keeps food out of it
Thank you for the idea.
Up here in Minnesota (some of us) camp at -15 F not including wind and I sleep fine in my hammock.
guess it depends where your from.
That's cold my friend.
Where are all these sites where people set up canopies, tents, etc? Obviously not in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico or anywhere that winds, thunderstorms, etal exist.
Run some velcro along the sides where the matress panels meet.
Thanks for idea Don.
I am getting to a point financially to where I can get one so i just need to decide hopefully by the end of the year. My wife and I are empty nesters and we want to do some traveling. With the current vehicle i have I would be able to pull it. Without having to buy another tow vehicle.
That's what I like about my camper is easy to tow.
Compared to the tag or tab 400, other than cost, how does it compare? Did you put the rain deflector over the windows or did the company do it for you?
I did all my own modifications I have the base model.
Command strips velcro might help with the matresses moving around.
Thanks for the idea Dave.
Hi Kevin,
How do you attach the mesh that is meant to keeps the bugs out? Also, what brand wall mount/tv do you have? Links to where they can be found online would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
For the mesh I have a video ruclips.net/video/D7Y7OQOVTfs/видео.html the tv wall mount amazon or ebay got mine from a yard sale thank you for the comment Allison.
Take a look at Wendy Pope video. she did a great work in side her trailer. And using the DampRid or off name at the $ store works great also.
She has some good videos thanks charlotte.
if i had the money i really wanted the one with the bed table and shelf for appliances forgot what it was called it was like 8k
Un's. Must be a PA boy. : )
For sure Bert thanks for watching.
I was wondering how close to Pittsburgh he was, yinz... don't get to hear that much anymore!
Did you say the TV worked on battery? How does that work. Did you buy a special TV? Thanks for the video. Still trying to decide on a little camper. Appreciate you describing one I was looking at. Very helpful. Gale
The TV is 12 volt I am upgrading to a 6 x 10 box trailer i'm going to build a camper out of it.
What do you think ruclips.net/video/QCln82mZXcQ/видео.html
I enjoyed your video. I just love camping. I own a tent trailer, but it’s 24 Year’s old. I recently lost my wife of 41 years. I now want a small hard side camper. How’s the air conditioner, does it chill you when it’s over 100 degrees outside. How high is the headroom.. many happy trips to you or should I say Happy Trails to you. Brent in Utah. I am a Catholic, not Mormon.
I have know air conditioner in my camper I'm sure you can hang meat in there the camper is 48"H x 48"W x 96"L
thanks for watching Brent and Merry Christmas.
Truthfully Kevin I haven't went on vacation for over 35 years someday I might buy something like your little camper there and go see the Grand Canyon or something I think you be better off to go online though before you go and see if there's parking if you need reservations for the camping and stuff like that
You are right reservations next time and the Grand Canyon would be nice thanks william.
Hey buddy. Appreciate the video. But could u tell me the name of the vent fan and how hard it was to install.
Fantastic fan not to hard I have a video on it ruclips.net/video/aOYhzKKAL0A/видео.html
What size and car model did the vent visors on your camper come from?
I just looked at how long I need and went by the inches and got it close.
a mini dehumidifier works well to help the condensation. They are like $40 on amazon or ebay
I will look them up thanks.
Thanks for the videos, Kevin. If you could restart from scratch would you get the 6x8 camper instead?
If I could start form scratch I would build a 6x8 so yes and it would be better and lighter thanks for the comment Jason.
If I could start form scratch I would build a 6x8 so yes and it would be better and lighter thanks for the comment Jason.
Kevin did you install roof racks? I know you have a roof vent. Just wondered about the racks.
Know I don't think so the roof vent may get in the way.
Nice Set up. Where did you find the trailer tongue rack?
I have a video on the rack Marshall ruclips.net/video/-VVV07qW6xk/видео.html
Have you tried using a big tub of kitty litter to keep the moisture down?
Know but good idea
Have you tried putting the single side ways mattress at the head of the bed?
Ya not good I have fix for it video coming thanks for the comment.
Can you lock the door from the outside? I've seen it locked from the inside, but am wondering if you can lock it up when you need to leave your base camp.
Yes you can it has a good lock on the runaway camper you will get a key.
Great, thank you. :)
Inexpensive kitty litter inside old socks works great to reduce condensation. The kind that’s not scented and nothin* else fancy in it. Just plain.
Thanks for the info Road Runner.
I throw some of the silicon kitty litter in an old sock (no holes of course) and it helps keep condensation off of my windshield at night... it gets quite humid here at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.
