The most incredible part of this episode is the ending where we find out Jillian didn't believe Joseph was proposing cause he'd been doing it as a bit for so long
Listening to this podcast while I’m doing pizza delivery in my 2015 Honda Civic that gets its oil changed twice as often as most other people and will never die on me. Could not be happier.
Yeah, the last story reeks of, like, religious repression. He asked his dad how he asked his mom out and he said, "I got on one knee and put a ring on that finger." type thing
I drive a Honda Accord that is literally 25 years old. 1999. Over 200,000 miles, needs maintenance intermittently of course, but still great! Was my grandparents' car for years, now I drive it.
Adult playgrounds are an excellent idea but you have to dress them up either to be super nature centric or super fitness centric to dodge the stigma of "place adults can just engage in physical play in". The other option is to make especially large children's playgrounds with a full spectrum of physically challenging equipment all ages can use.
Dude the second lady fucking RULES. I'm on her side, she had every right to call out her sister for, as Danny would put it, having a low value husband and getting pissy about it. I was fucking cackling when she got to clap back, this was great.
3rd one, Ah ok. Yeah this guy is Manic Depressive. They can get really out of touch with reality on a high mania swing. He was probably out of his mind happy just having her around him, and felt just about every casual interaction as deep and emotional. Both my mother, and my brother are bipolar, and it's not uncommon for them to lose touch with reality when they don't have access to their base anymore. He's away from home at college, diagnosed or not, and has no real tether to reality to bring his perception into line with how things really are. It's likely that they CAN be good friends again, once he comes back down. But I don't know if that's the right move for her. It will definitely be beneficial to him.
You guys chemistry is great but the last few episodes have felt a bit lacking given the central conceit of the podcast of making judgements. It's fun to have the obvious asshole cases every once in a while but when it's multiple episodes where the situation is so obvious it feels repetitive
You're not wrong, i wish they had more episodes with topics that aren't as black and white, i like the episodes where they disagree with each other and have to present arguments to try to convince each other on who's right (the episode where jordan and joseph just straight up start to fight is one of my favourites)
@@MrGshinobii feel like every once in a while they have differing takes, but I do think it needs to happen more. I just enjoy the insight they bring to the conversation and am happy with either
I think even the 'obvious' ones are a bit better if they're conducive to a good conversation on the matter. It gets boring when it's something like boymom from last episode that where the only (and correct) thing you can say about the matter is that they're extremely weird.
I was about to make that exact comment. Love the podcast, love the dynamic between the 3, wish they chose more divisive posts instead of low hanging fruits
If someone thinks that they're dating their best friend who they have never flirted with or touched or kissed, they've been failed by society in some way.
Bodacious Broadcast Bros! You gotta start picking posts that aren't super cut and dry. Even as a verified woman hater, the last one wasn't even a question. Xo Love you (eat more natural sugars)
So I remember hearing a reddit story similar to the last story. There was a story where these two people were best friends and the guy then randomly kissed OP and was talking about their first anniversary and they had never dated and convinced her friends that they were dating. It turned out, he became "alpha male" Tate pilled and just decided to act like they were in a relationship to manipulate her into dating. He then also went into an insane misogyny rant to a point where she felt for her safety. OP ended up moving to get away from that guy. So this could be either a malicious, manipulative thing like in the story I mentioned, or he was genuinely clueless about them being in a relationship and got the wrong idea
Ok with that second one, I get Peeps feeling a bit insecure defending the poster reacting with claws. But.....when it's family, when it's your SIBLING, there are COMPLETELY different rules of engagement. The sister came out being full aggressive, not even passive, accusing the husband of cheating and the poster being a show offy snob. Nah. You go off sis, when your sibling comes at you with that kinda venom, you are almost obligated to lash back. Realistically *should* you de-escalate, sure. But they had obviously made up their mind they were gonna fight that day if they were referencing the instagram story (NOT EVEN A POST), so this is sibling self defense.
It's only a matter of time before they have one of those "My friend transitioned and I support them but dear god the name they chose is so fucking stupid" posts that sometimes crop up.
Here in America we need to find any possible excuse we can to go outside and enjoy physical activities that aren't just like going to a gym or walking a dog.
On public proposals. If you want to get the picture perfect down on one knee proposal out in public? Don't make it a surprise! Everyone directly involved in the proposal should know what will happen ahead of time. Ask your SO if they'll marry you ahead of time in private, then ask if they wouldn't mind doing a more public and photograph worthy proposal to announce it to the world. You do not want a public proposal to be a "will they, won't they" situation. As for the guy in the third one himself? Given the updates, I'm very much thinking he is having some kind of mental healthy crisis. However, before the updates, I was thinking he was just a very sad person. While not one to one, as a cashier I have to deal with some sad sack people who I despise. However, they all think I'm friends with them or at least like them. The reason? Because I'm professional. It is that old saw, the strippers don't love you, except as cashiers, we don't get extra money if we put up with your nonsense so most other cashiers don't bother. Coming back around to the guy, I figured that every other non-family member female was at best cold to him. I figured the OP was probably the only person that was nice to him for any extended period of time. And just as with those customers who thought I liked them, since she was nice to him at all, when compared to how others treated him, that must mean she loves him and is together with him.
Y'know, when me and my ex broke up, she took my friends with her. Now I'm not gonna say anything too mean towards her, but she did cheat on me so there was no way I would keep seeing her in any context, and since we shared a friend group that I did not intend to make choose between us... That said, it brings about a very obvious conclusion. Don't share your entire friend group with your girlfriend. It's just good risk management. I stand with the guy on number 2.
You should absolutely have friends outside of your partner and their friend group, 100%. HOWEVER, purposefully ditching your partner to go to a place with your friends that your partner expressed interest in going to is a dick move.
I wouldn't say man-hating, you guys seem to hold men to a higher standard which feels off and you're also way quicker to clown on men. If the 2nd post today was a man calling his sister a jealous hag I don't think you all would've went to bat for him so fast and decisively. Because with that post about the husband quipping "Have a nice date." and giving his wife the "silent treatment" (massive exaggeration for wanting space when you're upset) for an hour, Joe and Danny reacted totally different despite how in both posts, the poster said high-school tier childish, heat-of-the-moment hurtful but true epic Reddit one-liner. The husband got REAMED for being immature and but the sister is based for saying her sister's husband is shitty (going beyond insulting your family member) as you all cackle about how the sister's husband is shitty. And in the Valentine's Day post you spoke about the wife in a much softer and passive way without clowning on her. Which makes no sense because a wife having a borderline Valentine's day Date Night with a chummy coworker is WAY worse than your sibling misfiring their grievances. I dunno gets hard to listen because it feels so hypocritical sometimes.
No, actually I found myself in the same position. I didn't know it was gonna happen until I received a letter from her implying it. The only reason why it never happened was because her friends stopped her.
The most incredible part of this episode is the ending where we find out Jillian didn't believe Joseph was proposing cause he'd been doing it as a bit for so long
The Joseph lore from this podcast has been incredible
the little bits of joseph lore we get each episode are great
It really is the most Joseph shit that could ever happen
It's also completely and hilariously on brand.
The fact that jillian Didn't actually believe joseph was Proposing because he wouldn't stop doing bits is 100% the kind of lore that is amazing.

Let's go accord gang, I've got a 2002 around 170k miles. It's a piece of shit but I have not had to get a new one yet
Episode 12 was too normal.
We need to get some r/trueoffmychest, dirtyconfessions, etc
I don't think the last story was normal honestly
shit man, that last one was scary. hope everyone involved there is doing okay
yeah that shit was legitimately terrifying to hear, sounds like a nightmare situation
The sister in the second story genuinely sounds like the evil stepmother in a Disney movie or something
I am now whole-heartedly convinced Joseph is the most annoying person in the world and I'm here for it
why is becky always mentioned but NEVER SPOKEN TO!
They don't know, chat
Clueless
Misogyny probably

The whole conversation about cars felt so surreal considering I JUST bought a new car. Thankfully I bought it in full, so no monthly payments.
Its always a bad day to be named Peter when the episode of Will Of The Councel is up.

I just re-listened to this episode and finally caught the fact that in story 3, they even had two separate hotel rooms oof
Shout out to my 05 Accord brethren, mines got 230k miles and it needs barely any yearly maintenance, it is an immortal tank basically
