It's hard to believe that it's been 15 years since we posted our first ever battle report. Mike agreed to come back in to celebrate by playing with the same lists that we used in our first game.
Thanks so much to everyone who has supported us for the past 15+ years!

A big “thank you” goes out to Games Workshop for sending us free models and books for their games, some of which may be included in this video. Игры
"I can't bring the unpainted models, I'm sorry." Never thought I'd hear that from a battle report, haha!
Mwg never has unpainted models
Congrats on 15 years. This is pretty epic. Keep it going guys!
Still can remember watching you guys 15 years ago. I was roughly 10 years old. Now I’m 25 and have followed you guys and Warhammer 40k since. Here’s to another 15 years of entertaining videos!
I’ve been watching MWG since finding you guys in 2020 during the pandemic. You all helped me get through a dark time and convinced me to start painting & playing WH40k!
congrats on 15 years! I've been with you guys for the latter 13 years of it, stared watching in 2010 on a business trip, and have been loving your work ever since! I can't travel without binging your videos on the road to this day, it's become my "road ritual."
Congratulations on the anniversary, it's been a glorious 15 years. I've been watching for 14 years and still go back to watch the old narative campaigns. Always my favorite part of what you guys do. Keep up the good work!
Hi Matt, congrats on 15 years of the channel! I think I’ve been watching just about all of that time, since the good old days of “Beat Matt Bat Reps” where if the challenger beat you they got $15 dollars of store credit to spend at the store, and when the slogan was “We work so you can play!”
Excited to see where the channel goes in the next 15 years, keep going and good luck!
Congratulations on 15 years - I've been watching for about 12 years. Not had much time recently but hope to be more regular soon
1:00:00 You forgot the Nightbringer takes half damage. It should still be alive.
What rule states that?
@@ayamenakiri9589Necrodermis an ability the Nightbringer itself has.
@@ayamenakiri9589 all ctan take halved dmg from their datasheet rule
@@gendy4369 ok cool thx
They talk half damage but they don't have réanimation protocol
matt i love how you and mike interact when he is rolling his resurrection rolls, it sounds so much like when me and my friends play, there's some saltiness but its all in good fun, and that's something that has made you and MWG kings of video batreps, usually no enforced positivity but also not being bitter or angry
I actually went back last night to check out all the old videos I watched back in the day. The video that got me into 40k all those years ago was the 80,000 points good vs evil apocalypse game. I have played since then and brought quite a few new people into the hobby. I have been watching MWG since then too. (Though I had a different account)
Thank you! I started watching MWG in 2014 and you were one of the first 40k channels I followed (the other was Striking Scorpion 82). Always loved watching the Beat Matt Battreps. Your videos bring a great atmosphere, was very welcoming and helped me understand the game as I was learing how to play.
My suggestion is either have some of the regulars at start come by early on (Fireman Tim, Joe), or mini 'tournament' asking if any of the former MWG staff wanna join and play randomly against one another. (if there aren't any hard feelings)
The nostalgia of the old videos. I still go back to watch them, they were my main source of wargaming videos back then - it’s cool you guys have come so far but your old videos/friends/employees will always be my favourite! Awesome to see Mike again, miss seeing his conversion work
Amazing it's been 15 years. I started watching in 2014, right at the launch of 7th. First batrep I saw was Matt's Tyranids vs. Dave's Chaos.
Congrats on 15 years, gang! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
They should do 15 of the most iconic battle reports throughout the years
About 13 years and I do recall that the ORKS were involved. I could swear that Dan made a WAAAAAGGHHHHH!!!!! at the beginning of it. To be honest, I've watched SO many of your batreps over the years, that remembering the first is kind of hard. Congrats on becoming, in my opinion, the best GW content creators in the GWverse! 👍
I remember starting to watch you when I was at St. Olaf College around 2009. Thank you so much for all the great content and memories. You are an inspiration to all of us in the community.
I've been watching for 8 years or so, just love to have it on while modelling or painting, and it's helped me introduce new friends to the hobby as well.
Been watching about 14 years. First Video Dave and his sister making Orc terrain.
Been watching since the first narrative campaign! Glad to see you guys always on the up and up, I stayed relatively close to your studio when I studied in Canada - devastated when I learnt how close I was without my army
Congratulations on the fifteen years. You guys do great work!
Congrats! I think I first came across you sometime around 2010, so you were established but still small and this whole concept was still new
It's been an amazing 15 years. Awesome to see Mike again. Been around d since the how to make flock video. Time sure flies. Here's to 15 more!!
Keep up the great work. I'm glad to see the progress and joy your company/ videos have brought to everyone. I know that I, for one, would not be in this hobby without this channel.
Congrats on 15 years! I found MWG a bit before the store shut down and I remember when the transition happened was when I got my first vault membership.
There were some glorious years of great content back then when there weren't really other content creators making anything of the calibre of MWG.
Captain slaughter's rejects were truly epic and funny and the early narrative campaigns really had me hooked!
Highlights that come to mind are two wound lootas and the tyranid beast trapped in the necron tesseracht and duly freed to assault enemies later... Great narrative moments that fuelled many, many painting hours!
Awesome concept.
I can't believe it's been that long. The first thing I ever saw from MWG was Sgt Slaughter. The original first one. It was so much fun and I've been a Vault member ever since. It was because I found you guys that I am still in the hobby and playing the game. At that time I thought I was the only one into the hobby and possibly the only adult that spent so much time and money on my little toys. My wife always said "Are you playing with your dolls again?" 😂. Finding MWG brought me into a community, the community. Thank you.
Time sure is fun when you're having flies (or something like that)! Congrats on the 15 years, MWG!! I started watching approximately 8 years ago, and it didn't take long before I subbed as a vault member. I have thoroughly enjoyed your content to date and look forward to all the future batreps.
15 long years, and since then I've gone from a CSM player to collecting and painting mostly Necrons and Tyranids. This was a treat to watch and makes me want a bigger home so I can have a hobby room to play with my partner regularly with some nice terrain.
So glad you guys exist. Even happier that you're doing well. Keep up the great work, and here's to another 15 years!
I still remember the times when Dave did fluff videos. Really nostalgic when I think about it now. One thing that remain constant throughout the 15 years, is that Matt & Dave have been the anchor for this channel. Here’s to another 15 years & beyond!
Congratulations on 15 years. Here's to 15 more!
To answer the question in the email, I've been watching since around 2016. First video was the Tyrus Incident campaign (why I signed up for the vault)
I’ve been watching for 7 years and I love the narrative and have been inspired by all the terrain you guys use
Been watching for a bit over a year now and have become engrossed in the hobby because of you guy’s!
Congrats on 15 years! I found you guys near the start of 8th edition and I’ve loved the content ever since. I don’t remember the 1st video I watched… but I remember the one that encapsulated me was Matt vs Quirk. 10,000 point apocalypse Tyranids vs Chaos. I may have stopped with the hobby, but I still enjoy the channel!
I love these nostalgia videos. As for how long I have been watching, I can't remember actually. It was toward the beginning of 8th I believe, and I know Vito was still filming with you guys. Here's to 15+ more years!
I’ve been watching videos and supporting MWG since August 2010.
Congratulations on 15years!!🥳🥳🥳
I dont remember when I started watching your videos, but the first ones I watched were mostly the tutorial type. I did watch some of the battle reports, just way more of the tutorials. Great job playing for all of these years. :)
Congrats MWG! You taught me how to play 40k over 10 years ago. Haven’t played in years at this point, maybe I should pick it back up.
this has been a wonderful 12 years i have been watching still went to watch most of the old videos
Congrats on 15 years!!
I’ve been following for 8 of them! I can’t remember what my first video was anymore. Probably singing with Steve’s Eldar.
Congratulations on 15 years, here's to the next 15!
Gratz on the 15 yrs of battle reporting, thanks.
So much fun. Love a good Matt batrep!
Crazy to think it's been that long, I've been subscribing since December of 2007. Keep up the great work!
Great Achievement guys, love the channel, one of the first I joined, proud to be a lifetime vault member
Been watching bat reps from MWG since maybe 2012-13... Thanks for all the great content! Wishing you guys many more years of success and keep that enthusiasm at 11!!
My first MWG video was Dave teaching me how to make terrain hills. My 1st batrep was one of the first "Beat Matt Batrep"s, and it was when they still had a store. I have been hooked ever since, best membership I've ever invested in. Keep it up!
It’s Mike the Necron guy!
I believe it's been about 9 years for me? What video did I watch first? Probably something with Orks since that's my boyz!! Congrats on the milestone!! Keep it up!!
I've been with you guys since 2011 or 2012, love it and still hope to make my way across the earth to see you one day haha! Congrats on 15 years, keep it up!
I’ve been watching since 08/09. Awesome to see you guys crushing it still
15 years of MWG awesome sauce. Has been a joy watching MWG grow over the years. Here is to another 15 years of not growing up! :D
The first miniwargaming video I ever saw was a game Joe played with his orks against grey knights. He made his dead pile of orks stack higher than the buildings, and I laughed at his humor and good mood even as his orks were slaughtered. I remember seeing a video where Matt played Khador in warmachine and used the butchers feat to cause his guys to buzzsaw his way across the table. I don't play warmachine anymore, but I'm working on an army for 10th after not playing 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th. 😅
I first watched your channel back in 2017, at a very difficult time in my life - vicariously joining you really helped! First episode: Dark Elves vs Ogres Warhammer Fantasy Battle Report - Old World Wars Ep 01
Congrats on the milestone!
Well done on reaching 15 year - I have been enjoying your content for the last 10, keep up the great content
15 years and still the best in the biz. Thank you Matt for this blast from the past.
Gratulations on 15 years, I started around 2014, the first video I watched was the first story time for Fate of Fayoom series.
Apparently I’ve been (on and off) watching for 15 years… great to see epic duck!
Amazing 15 years! Also "Psychokiller"Mike yay!
Congrats!
I have been subbed since Spring 2009 and the Carnifex magnetization video is one of the first videos I favourited. I feel I was watching earlier though, as I remember the Matt reveal video.
Been watching since 2012, While I can't recall the exact video found you guys looking for tyranid gameplay. I got hooked pretty soon and become a vault member since 2013.
Congratulations on 15 years! I started watching 8 or 9 years ago, I think? First game I saw was Ash vs Owen playing Fantasy, good times!
I've watched many of the epic duck studios painting tutorials. Congrats to 15 years!
Congrats on 15 years. First video I watched from y'all had to be 10 or so years ago. 5th or 6th edition. Beat Matt Batrep. Can't remember who Matt played against, but I think you were bringing your Nids. Going back and watching the "three gunshots" we work so you can play introduction again was like opening a time capsule.
I still someday want to come visit and play some games with y'all. Have since I started watching a decade or more ago. Here's to many more years of playing and calling it work 🎉
This is just a awesome milestone!
Happy 15th Anniversary.
well done on the 15th Anniversary.. I think I have been following you guys for about 8 of those
For 15 years I'd say maybe do a video of the best/favorite moments and maybe even talk to old miniwargamers
Oh man, the classic music!
I've been watching probably 12 or 23 years now. Around that time I was thinking of making a warhammer table and in my search I found the videos of dave making tables/boards for the warhammer club. Never did get ariund to making some myself but they were super informative.
I have watched for at least 10-12 years.
You had a store back then. everything was at a smaller scale.
Its been a great journey.
Well done making it this long!
Really looking forward to the “grumpier old men battle report” in 5 years.
Congrates on 15s which I must have been watching for 13 and one of my favoites from back then was the epic Ork bomba from an early naritave campaign. Also I really apricate this battle/you guys and see how 40k has changed if you have an army that old.
when i think back to old MWG i always think about dan games with his orks, all there brains getting sucked out by zoanthropes
Awesome !
I think I've been watching /subscribing to you for the last 8 years or so.
Keep it on!
I was hooked on the fate of fayoom
I don't remember now the first MWG battle report I watched, but I remember when I became a member! It was for the Victory is Vengeance Horus Heresy campaign! I will never forget Quirk's unluckiest Alpha Legion. I've been a loyal member ever since!
Been watching about 8 years and I think the first thing I remember was the Fate of Fayoom
Love it!
Congrats on 15 years!
I love your work.
Wish you the best for the next 15 years!
But..., I got a question. What about Veto? Ist he still a member of your team?
Congrats on 15 years! That's no mere Broodlord with a missing arm, that's Old One-Arm. He's like Old One-Eye...but ARM!
"now 1900 points because of inflation!" 😂😂
Here's to 15 more 🎉🥂
My first video was about 13 years ago I think, been watching ever since. Can't remember what exactly the first was though unfortunately. Still my favourite miniature channel.
Could have used the Monolith to relocate those battleshocked Warriors couldn't charge but could fire.
12 years for me!
Epic Duck Mike FTW!!
Con🎉Grats on 15years also great game to watch
Mvps that game nightbringer and geanstealers
Both absolutely brutal
Here is to 15 more!
Haha would love to see quark come back for a game!!
I remember watching this video not long after it came out
So cool guys!
Never Give Up. Never Surrender. 15 More Years! 15 More Years!
The poor Guest rolled so bad that I feel Sorry for him
