@@Djare915 The 5500GT has a 4.4Ghz boost clock compared to the regular 5500's 4.2Ghz, same base clock. So it would be a smidge faster in certain cases but probably not enough to be worth the premium on it's own.
5500gt is not worth it over 5500, better go for 5600 directly since it has higher l3 cache and pcie 4 support, than spending more for 5500gt and offering negligible performance difference.
I would like to know from users who have a Ryzen APU or a Ryzen APU with a dedicated GPU. Can these Ryzen APUs be used as a seperarte encoder for streaming or recording with programs such as OBS? I used to do this already with Intel CPUs with iGPUs. Mainly Intel UHD graphics. Before I gave my brother my Intel CPU cause his died. And I went for a AM4 Ryzen build rather a Xeon build which I've used before. Just wondering if Ryzen APUs can be used in tandem with dedicated GPUs in seperate tasks like recording, streaming, or using my motherboard's video ports to play a low res video while gaming. Just wondering is all.
They release an APU with Vega graphics that’s been discontinued? It would have made more sense if they put RDNA graphics in these not having an already obsolete no longer supported iGPU.
"no longer supported" blud clearly doesn't read the release notes on amd drivers. add to that the fact that these might have been made before RDNA, or that zen3 might be incompatible with RDNA iGPU cores, and you have yourself a classic blunder.
This year will be last for Vega. It's been running too long since 2018. 5000 series APU based on zen 2, so no need to be surprise after all. AMD skip zen 3 and goes straight to zen 4 for 8000 series APU, thats why IGPU for RDNA 3 is fast as RX6400
@@arx117 The 5000 APUs aren't zen 2, Cezanne is zen 3. These APU's use Vega because they're cut down 5600G's with an intact iGPU. There wouldn't be much point in going to the trouble of changing the GP on old stock, especially since they're likely using them to better compete with the i3's on price/performance.
I have a solid AM4 build with some rare parts acquired at once in a lifetime prices, I take great pride in it. The release of the 5600X3D was not only the appropriately rare and exclusive fit for my meticulously crafted build it's next gen killer performance keeps it relevant for years. If this is a dead platform I hope AMD keeps on killing them.
I noticed something peculiar: In the first game, I see that the 5500GT CPU temperature is 68C°, while the iGPU is at 47°C. So a difference of more than 20°C. For a monolithic die, that looks like a lot, no? Or is it not a monolithic die? Maybe Afterburner has another bug...
I expect the GT versions will eventually replace the "G" versions,so many AM4 options at the budget end.Not forgetting the 4300g,4600g and the non-APU 4100,4500,5500 and 3600.Wild.
I noticed that RandomgamingHD mentioned only gaming with this APU. Since you didn't mention any other capabilities I can determine that the APU is for games only and will not work with applications such as Office, Web, Photos or any other app. Thank you for your efforts. I was close to buying this APU as a build for my neighbor who surfs the web and amazon.
Do you think the 5500GT will work with Windows 12? Windows 11 is supported only up to 2029. I still use the Intel core i7 3770 I built in 2012 for work, and the performance is sufficient for work, so I don't need to change to a new one, but I'm planning to build a new PC to migrate to Windows 11. I wanted to get the 8500G, but the AM5 mini ITX motherboard was too expensive, and I wanted a motherboard that could connect to a total of three monitors, HDMI and DisplayPort, but the only one I could find at a reasonable price was the AM4, so I'm thinking of getting the 5500GT, but the 5500GT can't be used with Windows 12, and if the 8500GT can be used with Windows 12, I'd like to buy the 8500G. I don't know at this point.
What in the world do they mean by "Radeon graphics"? I checked the AMD website and they don't specify even when you click on "Full specifications". Do they mean Vega or RDNA? I'm guessing it's Vega judging by the performance.
@8:00 why say the 5500gt and 5600gt make little sense if you can get the original 5600g for the same price. the 5600gt is better than the 5600g by a pinch. Fantastic job mentioning the pcie 3.0 on these apus.
Can you show the difference between the 5600 (or any similar you have by hand) and this one when using graphics card? Would be interesting to see the bottleneck
I built my PC with a 5600G. Light gaming for sure. Set the resolution a bit lower and games are playable. I upgraded a year or two later with a rx 6600
Yeah, it's a major issue for people that will miss out on, *checks notes* 3% performance loss on a 4090 when operating in 3.0 x8 mode. I'm sure the zero people on earth that will pair a 5500GT will be fuming.
I was tempted to buy an AM5 upgrade over a year ago in California, glad I didn't, too new and too much about CPUs melting in AM5 sockets, if I had that happen I would have been pissed. Should be heading back to California again this year, if there's a good enough deal I may be tempted once again, but the 5600G with 32GB 3600 memory on a second hand B550M board is fantastic.
I use AM5, it's not melt as what people point out to be. You can use AMD eco or if you use Asus, you can use enchancement in BIOS won't Lost any performance. I upgrade from AM3 to AM5
Have a Mobo: ASRock model: B450M Pro4 serial: xxx UEFI: American Megatrends v: P3.50 date: 07/18/2019 with a Ryzen 3 3200G would it help my daily performance to upgrade to one of the faster GT chip, or is it time to step up to a newer motherboard, cpu, and memory? I am currently running 8 Megs of memory and using a 34 inch monitor resolution: 2560x1440~60Hz for movies, youtube, instagram, Max, and Netflix. I dabble in graphic modification with my 5 year old Granddaughter, using the HP scanner to acquire her loved characters. I am also beginning to do a bit more youtube vlogging with my cycling activity...
It means ignoring the lowest 1% or 0.1% drops (which would be perceived as a stutter or possibly barely noticed) what was the lowest frame rate observed while playing. This would typically occur in a heavy scene e.g. with many characters on screen or multiple effects taking place at once. You could call this an “organic” low frame rate, while 1% and 0.1% lows are more likely loading or shader issues with the game.
Hmm, I can see where this would fall into the market slots available. I'd rather have integrated graphics as an option in case the graphics card ever failed in my PC, that way I'd still have a way to use the PC (even if not for gaming) without having to try and find a new one at really short notice (and being stung in price for the privilege). Though to be honest, my PC doesn't need integrated graphics, it's got a 5950X and 3060Ti... :)
not bad, not bad. If the price is right, definitely an option to consider for the low budget gamers out there (even tho buying an old prebuilt and add a decent GPU will always going to be better)
I play the finals too! Tho i play at a lower resolution (my monitor is quite old) but after getting dual channel ram I get close to 55 fps on medium preset except shadows and taau at 70%. Though mine is a 4650g its pretty similar.
My pc just died (it had an i5 7500) and was paired with a GTX 1060 3gb, and 2x8GB ddr4 3200. Since I was on a budget, I decided to get this CPU along with an AM4 mobo. I guess I will be fine lol I chose this G variant just in case my GPU fails, because sometimes it acted funny while playing in my previous system, like the its fans went full force like a helicopter, running into a black screen and forcing me to do a restart.
I bought a r5 5500 for a spare PC i built, pretty decent CPU for what it is, its as fast as a r5 3600x on multi core, and single core is faster of course.
Could you review 5600GT? I don't need a beast of a computer (I've got a console for games), but I would like to upgrade my processor without breaking a bank (currently owning 2200g), so I'd like to see if 5600GT is worth over regular 5600G

Want to upgrade my 2200g that is in an InWin case (150w psu, only cpu fan for cooling, ended up delidding the 2200g with liquid metal under the IHS to drop 10c, ha). So looking at the 4600g/5500gt/5600g. Maybe the 5600gt but I know it uses a few extra watts and a little hotter than the 5600g. 4600g would be the cheapest and prob lower TDP than the others.
@@FireMrshlBill I didn’t actually, I’ve bought an Xbox 1 month prior to my comment so I figured I won’t need to upgrade my pc now, since I won’t be using it for gaming. I do believe you won’t see a major difference between G and GT model, so just go with 5600G and you’ll be fine

Anyway, I switched it for an i5 13400f and a B760 DDR4 motherboard we had in one of our office PCs. 5500GT/A320 combo is perfect for a workstation/office PC or a media center. It's APU is quite capable for older or light weight games even.
I've been waiting for this one to compare with regular 5500...
And you didn't compare it...:D I think that 5500gt should be faster than 5500 just cpu wise w discrete gpu! This data is valuable for someone w a320 and r5 1600af looking for upgrade!
I suggest to display tables for spec / prices etc since the names of these CPUs are so similar
@@bosermann4963let's be honest, these things are obsolete.
When will they drop an Athlon refresh?
Whats the difference between this and 5600g? Which one should i choose?
up
I have a solid AM4 build with some rare parts acquired at once in a lifetime prices, I take great pride in it. The release of the 5600X3D was not only the appropriately rare and exclusive fit for my meticulously crafted build it's next gen killer performance keeps it relevant for years. If this is a dead platform I hope AMD keeps on killing them.
$90 1600AF?
I noticed something peculiar: In the first game, I see that the 5500GT CPU temperature is 68C°, while the iGPU is at 47°C.
So a difference of more than 20°C. For a monolithic die, that looks like a lot, no? Or is it not a monolithic die?
Maybe Afterburner has another bug...
I expect the GT versions will eventually replace the "G" versions,so many AM4 options at the budget end.Not forgetting the 4300g,4600g and the non-APU 4100,4500,5500 and 3600.Wild.
How many more skus do you think AMD will release on this socket? This is getting kinda silly at this point
Bait
They don't wanna say "Vega" because it looks bad due to how old it is. So "Radeon graphics" is how they cover it up.
5000 series APU based on zen 2 although ryzen 5000 based on zen 3.
AMD won't put RDNA on old zen 2.
@@arx117yeah but they could've and should've. An AM4 chip with RDNA 3 integrated graphics would've been the budget king.
Think you should include helldivers 2 in the benchmarks, would be great to see
I've got a 5600X, might buy a 5700X3D in the coming year
Can you try get hold AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 5650G. I recent got an second pc from gumtree with that apu
@8:00 why say the 5500gt and 5600gt make little sense if you can get the original 5600g for the same price. the 5600gt is better than the 5600g by a pinch.
Fantastic job mentioning the pcie 3.0 on these apus.
what was your specs during that game tests?
Can you show the difference between the 5600 (or any similar you have by hand) and this one when using graphics card? Would be interesting to see the bottleneck
I built my PC with a 5600G. Light gaming for sure. Set the resolution a bit lower and games are playable. I upgraded a year or two later with a rx 6600
May I ask if the 5500GT CPU would be comoatible with an RX6600 GPU?
yes
Are we at a point where the IGP is as fast or faster than something like an RX470?
the PCIe available for discrete gpu is limited to x8 no?
Yeah, I believe so. He says it's limited to PCIe 3.0
@@Gatorade69 so ryzen 5600 is still solid choice then if using discrete gpu, big L for ryzen 5500gt
Yeah, it's a major issue for people that will miss out on, *checks notes* 3% performance loss on a 4090 when operating in 3.0 x8 mode.
I'm sure the zero people on earth that will pair a 5500GT will be fuming.
5000 series APU still based on zen 2. Meanwhile 8000 series APU is based on zen 4
@@arx117 bro we are talking about available PCIe lanes not the apu's performance lol
a whole different PC with the tunings I said you start to freak out the FPS the quality and the ONLINE play with a IGPU tuned setup
I cried that I should have known about this APU sooner... This is at the exact price I can afford.
2 minutes ago? i like, comment and pog at the same time
Performance and price equivalent for Intel would be? I am really lost with AMD's name schemes.
Is a 3400G (vega 11 , 4C8T) better than 5500GT (vega 8, 6C12T) for light casual gaming
But does the 5500gt play gran turismo? Otherwise its false advertisement
I still don't understand what 'minimum framerate' is if it's higher than the percentile lows. Can someone explain this to me?
My guess is that min frame rate is sustained for longer periods then 1% and 0.1% lows as they are usually only for a second
@@Just_a_jinx_lol I thought 1% means the lowest 1% of the whole duration of the benchmark, not for just 1 second.
Yeah but 1% lows usually only happen for second at a time throughout the benchmark. And they happen multiple times I think @@PenCil5899
Steve, can you test BF1 with IGPUs sometime? :)
...it's my favourite BF so I'd like to see that. :D
did I miss something? what's the T on GT?
Can you do a review on Ryzen 5 5400, I will be purchasing one paired with Rx 6600 to play Rainbow six siege and Fornite. Will that be enough?
The 5400 doesn't exist
Is this supportable with asrock b550 pg reptile motherboard without bios update pls tell me.......😊
Is Ryzen 5 5500GT with installed AMD Adrenalin necessary?
not bad, not bad.
8:00 Honestly anyone who wants to only use the APU Graphics then buy a 4600G. It's not much behind a 5600G and quite a bit cheaper.
do 5600gt get better fclk? will 2400 fclk be basic?
what gpu goes good with it?
What’s the difference between g and gt?
I bought a r5 5500 for a spare PC i built, pretty decent CPU for what it is, its as fast as a r5 3600x on multi core, and single core is faster of course.
Could you review 5600GT? I don't need a beast of a computer (I've got a console for games), but I would like to upgrade my processor without breaking a bank (currently owning 2200g), so I'd like to see if 5600GT is worth over regular 5600G
Somehow it is. It's simply rebranded 5600G with more quality chip used this time from factory
Did you end up picking an upgrade?
@@uros2909 Ended up just buying the 5600gt, it was only $3 more than a 5500gt and $20 more than a new 4600g, still $43 cheaper than a 5600g. Will see how it does when it arrives and I have time to install and undervolt in coming weeks.
@@FireMrshlBill Write a follow up comment after couple of days of using it, I'm interested to know the perfomance of it in games and day-to-day usage
Please help i cannot find 5500 gt on amd official website i want to download its drivers
They release this the same time as they end Vega support.
Maybe make a chart comparison while you tall about specs, so us doing something else (cooking(while watching can follow. Too many specs too fast. Video just shows you holding that small brick
That laptop cooler, from the last episode or so, is spectacular. Thank you so much.
Will you test Ryzen 5 5600GT?
Don't you think it would worth putting the 5500G 5500GT and 5600GT and their main parameters on a ppt slide? It is impossible to follow these names and their parameters. The video is informative, for sure, but I bet no one remembers the parameters. Such a data overload can't be processed without visualization. Unless you are Sheldon.
If I am trying to limp my son's pc a bit longer is this a decent upgrade. Asus tuf b450, ryzen 1600AF, 16GB ddr4-3000, 1660ti?
Go for 5600 way better
Tbh I'd take the i5 12400 just for the pcie gen4 support. Both ssd and ddr5 ram is already low enough to justify free performance increase.
Looks like a good cpu for a small pc for browsing and light/older games
Can you try the LukeFZ mod on this?
can you review the 5600gt
in the witcher 3 , please do the lab ruins mission you will thank me
Yay, someone is finally looking into the GTs so I don't have to just blindly buy one :)
Seems they are ever slightly superior but not upgrade worthy. Only if your buying new or coming from a much lower cpu.
@@arnezbridges93 They are not superior. The 5500GT is slower than the 5600G (though the difference is negligible).
when i was searching on online shop for 5600x i saw this 5600gt, then i search everywhere on the internet nothing come up 😅
