Wow, with all those slides I was really expecting something innovative on the inside. But all I see if the same ol' stuff, the same ol' brown-on-beige color scheme, and a floor plan that feels dark and choppy. And yeah, it sleeps a lot of people, but how are you going to feed them in that cramped kitchen?

We have a 2019 Rockwood 8327SS and its basically the exact same trailer except the front bedroom and our interior color is a bit darker, our bed faces north/south and is more of a traditional layout with a wardrobe slide. I cant believe all the negative feedback, we absolutely love ours! For those who are saying it's cheaply made...I'd say the quality is far better than the Keystone we had and all the Jayco's we looked at. Solid maple drawers and cabinet faces, soft touch drawer closers on all the drawers (even the ones in the bedroom), solid surface countertops, tons of storage inside and out, frameless windows, actual stone tile backsplash, huge pantry...I could go on but we're very happy with ours. I will say that you will need a good hitch set up, we have the Equalizer and we've been in high winds twice (over 30mph) and it barley moved, semi's dont bother it at all running on the interstate. We originally towed it with a 2016 F250 6.2L gasser and it towed it fine but averaged anywhere from 5-9mpg, we now tow it with a 19 F350 6.7L SRW diesel and it's not even an issue and average 11-13mpg taking the same routes to the same camp grounds. About the only thing I dont like is I wish our passthrough storage door was a bit bigger but no big deal, everything fits fine and the storage next to the shower is a joke! we use it for toilet paper and small bathroom stuff.

For as many slides as it has, it feels very cramped. Maybe it’s then large island (which I do like). If there was more natural light coming through it would feel bigger. Just my opinion
I agree, it's very dark.
I thought the same thing. This TT is made for a large family which would make it feel even more cramped! No thanks.
I don't understand why they design campers with all the windows on the non camp side.
I am sorry but I think from the outside it is amazing and I was expecting to be WOWED inside, instead I feel totally let down by the interior and it's layout and usage, the designer of the interior should be fired, you could have done so much more with that space and made it 100 times better.

Horrible. The large dinette is all wrong. GETTING OUT OF THOSE IS RIDICULOUS. Couches without room for coffee tables ‐ useless. And who puts 2 couches in limited space. Showing off not showing up!
We purchased the highland ridge 310bhs, very similar but has a few more design items we felt were better. It is a full profile TT, rare today, and has a GVWR of 11,500 lbs. We love it.
I figured a travel trailer this size would have a stackable washer and dryer. I definitely would need one.
I have towed it in 45 mile per hour winds, and had no problem at all our truck handles it fine
Are you pulling single rear wheel or dually? I have a 3500 diesel single rear wheel so I'm curious.

Notice the dump valves are essentially under the slides so either the slides will need to be in or you are going to be on your belly.
Great floor plan really good for a big family
Imagine pulling that with a strong crosswind. I dont care if you have a good hitch or not.....you're going too feel it.
It's the same size if most 30 plus trailers with all the slides in, no difference in hauling.
I pulled my 30’ camper with a 1500 when I first bought it. Scary, even though I had a about 2k lbs over the weight limit to play with. Immediately got an F250 diesel and it was night and day. Same WD hitch with sway control. The heavier truck itself made all the difference.
I'm surprised that there's only one bathroom. I would have expected an other half bathroom for such a big RV that can sleep 11 people.
Would hate pulling that monster in Ohio "the orange barrel state". 25 miles, single lane, concrete divider's, pouring rain/windy. Tractor trailers other side of dividers, night time. Junk on the road from others who zigged when they should of zagged. Stuff nightmares are made of. Thanks for another great video 👍!

My thoughts... A trailer that heavy should be a 5th wheel. I’m not sure any sway control on this travel trailer would actually prevent sway since it is so large and heavy. With almost 2000 lbs of hitch weight, I’d recommend airlift suspension for the tow vehicle. My personal opinion on trailer weights vs hitch designs is that if the trailer GVWR is 9000+ it should be a 5th wheel. Great video JD!
Im going to be honest although this trailer is huge. The inside did not do it justice. It feels very cramped inside. Maybe that’s just me I like a more open floor plan. That bathroom was horrible as you said as far as leg room for the toilet. I expected more. You’ve shown trailers that are 10 ft smaller that just feel more roomy than this.
The curtains look like they are from the 40s and the overall interior is kind bland

Very nice travel trailer. Not too bad for a bunk house. That’s a long travel trailer 37 feet. It’s nice. I like the big bedroom. The closet is nice. Thank you for showing this one.

I don't mind having a bunk. I just don't think having many beds is a good idea when you only have the *one* bathroom.
From there, everything else is unimpressive and doesn't feel very efficient, such as how the master bedroom has counter space no one can do much with and those nightstands that barely have any room for anything
Don't even get me started on those floor cabinets you can't practically do anything with because the larger cabinet above is in the way.
It's like someone watched a video about a camper trailer once at some point then tried to copy the design from memory.
We have a 2016 Windjammer with that wardrobe and recessed drawers underneath. It’s really not a problem for us and looks worse than it is in this video. We also love the nightstands that are just like the ones on this trailer.

I don't like it. The interior just screams "CHEAP"! It already looks outdated. The North American RV brands are usually behind the times. Look at the interiors of some Euro brands. They look muuuuuuuch nicer compared to this.
I would like to thank you for pointing out the gross vehicle weight rating of trailers so many RUclips channels always tell you the dry weight which means absolutely nothing when towing
If I were gping to get an RV so large it required a dually 1 ton, I think I would go ahead and get a 5th wheel. Travel Trailers are nice in that they often can be towed by big SUV's like a Suburban with all the towing options selected - until the travel trailer is so large a Suburban just won't do it.
Or maybe you just get a house. RV is VERY too big and fat people getting angry because not enough space. No. Enough space, just American people too fat.

Dry hitch weight of 1314 lbs. Approximately a loaded hitch weight of 1583 lbs. Then add in two to four adults and up to 5 kids... Your truck's payload capacity is crying already and you haven't even put anything in the bed yet! lol.
Competing with the “3-kid-family” fifth-wheels! Nice! But you may have to for-go many of our State & National Parks.
We have one and it is awesome, and we tow it with our SRW f350 4x4

These oversized trailers are best as second homes for snowbirds, they can have them delivered straight to the campground they plan to spend the winter then hire someone to move into storage when they return home, then repeat the process each year

Duel dumping stations. I think that means you have to dump twice, not just two options for dumping.
Kyle Gilbertson the front is the only one you have to be concerned about. It combines the bathroom, the kitchen, and the optional washer dryer combo discharge. The one in the back is only for the outside kitchen.

The only thing I dislike about this unit is it doesn't have washer dryer hookup. Otherwise it would be a great unit to have the use on the road on full-time basis

They should take lessons from Recreation by Design. RBD uses 3 axles, 11,000 + dry weight and 15,120 gvwr for a travel trailer thus size.
Plus RBD will custom build you a floor plan with 1 1/2 baths, dishwasher, washer/dryer , king bed etc...
This Rockwood model is too big for 2 axles
I don't get the huge bunkhouse. Would have rather had a smaller one and change the layout so that you can look at the TV straight on
I'm gonna agree with a few people here to add a sunroof but otherwise this trailer seems really great for me since I like to live alone.
I like the floor plan. The only thing I would change is finding a way the change the pantry into a half bath

But the dump stations are under the slides, seems like hard place to be at if you have to dump at a RV park.
James Nunn the main dump station up front is just in front of the slide, not under it. The second is only for the outside kitchen which can left open.
Remove the outside kitchen and add a half bath. You put 8 people in that, the tiny bathroom is going to become a nightmare.

Be aware of the county zoning or development rules. I was looking at some properties in Colorado and realized one will allow a home and an RV, but not just an RV. Another was an old remote mining tract being sold under the heading “BUILD YOUR HOME HERE!” However the BLM lands state clearly no buildings of any type on BLM land or land that is surrounded on all sides by BLM land.

i love the rockwood brand and this is one of my favorite floor plans made by them.
Like the pantry/ coat closet.
Bunkhouses ruin layouts. Lose the bunks, push living room to rear, add another sofa, trade the benches for chairs and a regular table. Add 1/2 bath, W/D, fireplace.
With that net loading capacity, they are hoping the buyer is a lot more minimalist than the manufacturer was in building it. I have a traditional, heavy wood-frame 26 ft. TT that has nearly 40% of its gross available for loading; this is well under half that.
Reflected Miles He said Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. It’s dry, or as you said net, rating is around 9500lbs.. Btw, did your trailer come with an interior? With nearly 40% for cargo capacity, there can’t be much said about what’s inside the TT. Just saying.

It's almost identical to the forest River Heritage Glen 300bh that I have the only thing different is the front bedroom slide and it's 2k heavier the Glen is labeled a ultra light 9k all in all same trailer

Not an expert or as well informed as JD. But from my persoanl experience, over 7500-8000 lbs range it starts getting a little sketchy with a half ton.
At that point the trailer really starts pushing the truck around. As far as length the max comfortable length I found was about 30ft.
I upgraded to a 1 ton gas job a few years ago to be able to upgrade to a bigger trailer. But my old half ton would tow my 30ft Flagstaff okay at about 7600 lbs. But during high winds it got a little sketchy even with an equalizer hitch.
Professional Driver here, 75%-80% of max tow weight if driving more than 100mi. Length no more than vehicle plus half, give or take a few feet. (i.e. truck is 22ft. Trailer can be 33ft. But the longer the trailer is the more tail wags the dog)

Needs a major update. For the price not worth the amount to bring it up to today's stars for the price. Newell has 7 to 10 thousand more but in comparison there's no comparison. Liberty does also! Amazing for the same price range
The bedroom is kinda nice, but I would still take the open range 312BHS any day of the week. It’s more open living room and better bunk room

So many issues. Wow
The bedroom with the notched out cabinet, good luck trying to use the top drawers, you won't even to be able to see whats in them. Next, with all of the beds available meaning lots of people, not enough seating space and not enough storage. You won't be able to prepare meals or have enough food for everyone. This camper is probably best used as a weekender for camping only, and if so who wants to tow a beast like that for a few days. The very last issue is another design issue. That island with the notched out bottom will be prone to rocking, poor stability, plus its so narrow, so not much storage space again. Oh and I forgot. you better not weigh over two hundred and sixty, you won't fit in the bathroom.....LOL.
I live full time, so these are just my opinions.

w/d in bigger units. It's so important to full timers.
There's a few smaller Rockerwood models that have w-d. You end up finding the home of ur dreams and end up without a w-d. They sometimes don't even list it in the
Specs. It's important.A selling point for many.
Treat it like a big asset, because it is !!! Include it in more models. Please..

JD, if you havent seen the 2020 Flagstaff Classic 8320kbs, that's one to check out as well!.... Somewhat similar in look to this one, only no bunkhouse, with a RL and triple slide. 35' OAL and VERY Comfortable!
I'd much rather see a small table n chairs, I mean most eat outside when camping. And use the space for a small sectional type sofa, as the LR is practically non existant .
I like everything but the bedroom how where the bed goes up under the over hang piece. You need to get on your knees to get stuff I understand why they did it but not a fan of that. The rest of the trailer I liked. Great video. Unity
