I love how you go over the gvwr, payload capacity needed to tow, and recommend what type of truck needed to tow comfortably... plz include all this info in every video from now on its a tremendous help 👍👍😊
He's usually very good at that, if he knows it.
I’ve been researching this exact unit for months now!!! Thank you so much for this video!!!! I’m quite sure this will be my next home!!!
Did you end up buying this model?
So big and no dedicated table or booth 🤔
Probably my new favorite Travel Trailer!!!! Love it!!! Besides if you are a good driver this is a piece of cake to handle
Thanks for that information. Helpful.
My husband tows and backs it up like it is nothing (and we've never had an RV before this). It is a great unit!
Travel trailers that large are a handful to tow. Looks more like something to park at a seasonal campsite.
yeah, probably what it was designed for.
Another thing you'll need to check is your trucks hitch receiver capacity. My F250 has a payload of 3000lb but my hitch receiver is rated for a maximum of 1500lb tongue weight. So I would be fine payload wise but could be potential over my receiver capacity.
My 5th wheel was 43ft, I couldn’t take it anywhere. Few campgrounds would take it, and you better plan your route because many roads are not designed to turn a rig that long. Basically I had to stay on truck routes and fuel at truck stops.
Very true. You're probably down to 30% of campground with length capacity and limited spaces at those campgrounds. You end up at the more expensive campgrounds to match fit with availability.
I feel with 2 bedrooms, there should be a full bath that is accessible to both bedrooms. The shower accessibility would be an issue if those in the master bedroom decided to sleep in.
That’s a big boy for sure. You basically have a fifth wheel bumper pull. I actually like it.
I have a 34ft Jayco Eagle Super Lite 5th wheel and the only problem is the steps to master as I have knee problems. I absolutely love my unit
Two full bedrooms?! I love it! But the fifth wheel with the front bunkhouse blew me away. Great way to keep the kids contained... or an office
Yes much better than this
What fifth wheel are you referring too? I must have missed that video.
I was disappointed to discover that the front bunkhouse doesn't have a 3rd AC over the bunk area. I contacted the manufacturer and asked if it's an option, and they said, NO.
I liked the front bunkhouse but wasn't impressed with the rest of that unit's design - especially the carpeted slide under the fridge/dinette. Big nope.
@@sewistnotsewer I agree, not sure why they can't get carpet completely out of their system
After watching your video, we decided to go look at this trailer at our local Jayco dealer. As you said, it is huge and really is a possible replacement to our destiniation trailer. We loved the queen bed in the front and the king in the back, as well as the residential fridge, the two awnings, and all the windows actually open. Perfect for adults who camp. Unbelieveable amount of storage, inside and out. If there was an option to replace the theatre seating with a reclining loveseat and a table and chairs, we would have ordered it on the spot!
Now that's perfect for us, our children are all grown, but would like to go rv with us.
I like the 2 bedroom floorplan.
Great job. As usual, keep it up, learning alot
Dang, nice unit but that has it's own ZIP Code!
Love it love the price! Good looking and plenty of storage.
Good Brand tires. Nice Slow Closing Drawers too. Cool overall floorplan, I liked it. Thanks, good job.
Thank you Josh for the tour. We agree with you, we're looking for something more homey than Toy Hauler But it is spacious.
Loved this!
Not crazy about windows over my headboard. Don’t like the outside coming inside under bed. The toilet looks too open. Not crazy about the air vent by the bed blowing up. Not crazy about washer/dryer in master bedroom. I do love the island. Love love love the full bathroom! Thank you for your review. It sure helps me find what I’m looking to buy.
Your my favorite tour dude. I like your style. Fast and efficient...
They need to put pegboard with hooks to hang tools, fishing rods and other equipment on the sides of the storage spaces.
This is beautiful !!!
Thank you for showing this unit. We were actually in a unit like this with a fold out couch instead of a bed. So disappointed in the couch. When pulled out it was so short. I didn't catch if this was a true queen but do like this model better. All the seats in the main part did have where the bottom came up for legs but I couldn't get it really to recline back. I may have been doing something wrong. This trailer here would be on my short list.
41' makes a looonnngg rig as a bumper pull. Love the separate living areas especially using it for longer destination stays. Because of its size (not necessarily its weight) I would consider the suspension and tires you put on your new Brookstone. Such a fan of that suspension setup. I like this unit.
This floor plan would work out very nice for those that want to RV with an Adult disabled child.
Open layout is finally being done rights
I'm am stoked to hear seven feet of head space!!!!! So hard to find an RV in our retirement expenses allowance for man 6'7" barefoot! I've done the RV thing my whole life. We (Dad, Mum and 4 girls) lived in Johnstown PA and bought one of the first Hi-Lo trailers. Traveled from PA to CA over 4 months time, camping, mooch docking, and parking lot sleeping! In the 60s it was so not a thing that no one bothered us ever, but we got a few odd looks. I love getting out, when I want, where I want. The dump station, the repairs have never bothered me. I have not been able to convince my hubby who at 6'7" has not found RVing comfortable. Hoping I can rent some models that will change his mind!!!!
Love the flat floor fifth wheel!
Good luck trying to tow a TT that long !!! Plus trying to back it up into a normal campground!!
Exactly. I have a 34' and a crew cab truck and it can be tricky. Don't want anywhere close to this length in a TT.
Yup, the nightmare begins once the unsuspecting leave the dealer lot...
@@nunativs foreal dealership was probably yeah your half ton is perfectly fine towing this just grab one of are handy dandy weight distribution hitch for the low price of 800 dollars 😂😂 I feel bad for whoever buy one of these it's gonna be a nightmare towing this better hope they have a dually.
Nubies! If you know what you're doing you can drive(without a dually) and back up anything
We've been towing and backing this trailer for 9 months. No problem! 👍
Luv the content of the video very informative very nice travel trailer woth a descent price
It's a Monster, but good if you have a place to park that has a view...
I loved it.!!!
Fantastic 👍
i love the 2 bedrooms
Pretty good looking trailer.😍
That's a great setup, as long as you can get the washer and dryer in there. And of course the lack of a sink for the outdoor kitchen which I'm surprised wasn't brought up lol I know he likes those. I wonder how long these travel trailers/5th wheels would last if you were to live in one full time? That's always how I view them, as a housing alternative. Two couples/singles could live in that quite nicely I think. The bedrooms are on opposing ends, just share the shower when needed. I think it's gorgeous for the price!
I saw one of these on camping trip Labor Day weekend. They were pulling it with a 3/4ton ram diesel short bed. When they were coming down the road to the campsites everyone made the same comment and the truck looking to small for the trailer. I can tell you lots of people I’ve talked to don’t like the steps in a fifth wheel which is why I think these are popular. I wish they would make them on a gooseneck trailer frame.
Love this
Yikes! At that point I'd just go with a motor coach. LOL
Or a damn 5th wheel... this thing is a monster
@@steves8142 It is. I don't think I'd want to tow that beast very far. I towed something about that size with a jeep once. It was hilarious and probably not smart, though successful. LOL
It was unique!
Great floor plan if you have others Rving with you.
They need to think about making longer floor plans for couples and 4 season/full time use.
Make the front bedroom part of the living and Kitchen
I'd love this as a destination model. Seems like it would be a lot to tow.
But you could just buy a doublewide if you want a destination model. Destination travel trailers are a scam if you want to know the truth.
This is what I have heard an RV dealer call a flat deck fifth wheel layout. Frameless windows are an option on all Eagles both travel trailer and fifth wheel.
Like this, there's a few things that I didn't care for, that are a bit odd, I'm guessing they could be changed. Love, love the colors, finally people doing blacks and whites, & grey's, the only thing I did not like was the floor, it's brown. They needed to make it a grey tone.
I like this one and for the price you get alot
A travel trailer over 40ft long...that seems insane to me. What a nightmare that must be to backup into a parking spot. I bet there are a lot of campgrounds and national park areas where this thing simply won't fit. Interesting layout with a bedroom on either end of the trailer. Fit and finish looked pretty decent.
I applaud their effort to think out of the box designing this. No standard table, five reclining seats, what's that pull out shelf? You would be insane to try to pull it around to campgrounds. This is a tow it once to a long term destination unit.
Nice rig
I love your videos hope you have a good day
Thanks! You too
I love It And It Is Awesome
I love how Jayco makes these over built “flat deck fifth wheels”. It would be awesome if they made a Northpoint or Pinnacle version as well... I assume it’s a weight issue though.
All that storage space, but the dry weight is 1100 lbs under max.
First thing I thought about. This thing needs 3 axles, or 2 seriously heavy duty axles.
WoW is it enormous
I like it.
Deux chambres j'adore ❤
Realy nice
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a walk through of the Jayco Northpoint 382FLRB!
It would be cool if the front room was a dedicated office for two
I'd take half the sofa with a proper dinette booth or seating position with bar table in front. Would be a nice toy hauler.
Yeah, no table is a deal breaker for me. Unless we are having brats/hotdogs, we always eat inside. Not to mention, play games on those rainy days!
I like the Aluminum frame
Rv maker’s these days on showers have to not only do height but width to some of us aren’t small
I like that one
Can this be done with a queen in the master and a full in second room love this layout
Nice
Pretty sure jaycos solar system is 190 watts. Wow! That’s one hunk of travel trailer! I’d be afraid to tow that unless I had a one ton dually! Jayco sure does “do it right”!
I saw hot and cold water lines running to the front so is it washer/dryer prepped.
You need to check into the frameless window we have many friends that are experiencing them coming unlatched while towing an they are shattering
Like a small apartment. Nice
I like it as a travel trailer. Sometimes it's good to leave the truck bed open or have a cap installed for larger secure storage.
Oddly - the 340DROK on the Jayco website is slightly different than this unit. Queen bed in the back and a love-seat/fold out bed in the front (no under-bed storage). The plan shows the washer on the front left and the dryer on the front right. Interesting, ineed.
It’s called ‘options’, 🤣.
What people fail to realize is that that same 3500lb payload 3/4th ton, once loaded up, will have 1800lbs of payload. You can genuinely get 1700lbs of options on your 3/4th ton truck, the two biggest being crew cabs and diesel engines. A 3/4th ton with a gas engine would be fine to pull this from a payload perspective, and if you have the ford 7.3 with 4.30 gears you should be good powertrain wise
In the pass through storage under the front closet that looks designed for a washer, there is a panel on the ceiling hiding something beside the inverter. Maybe that’s the plumbing for the washer?
Yes, it's plumbed for a washer... It's behind the back cabinet panel. ☺️
Is it possible to modify these trailers? Like change the windows to less of them and make one in each room big enough for a window AC should it be needed, change the oven and microwave to a convection/microwave and a dishwasher? And change to a mini split ac and heat?
I find the windows, and the skylight in the bathroom, bring a ton of heat into the RV if you're in hot climates (over 95 for 6 months at least out of the year).
Mini splits work better on less electricity and last longer for the same cost of 2 roof top ACs for the same price.
I like it. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
It’s nice but it’s really big. I don’t care for the toy hauler style layout as far as the kitchen/living area goes. That neck-breaking TV view is one of my pet peeves.
I'm with you on that. Maybe the tv has a bit of an extending swivel slide to pull it out some? But who wants to socialize sitting in a linear line?
It’s a cool floor plan but who needs 2 full rooms? Maybe separated spouses with just the dad and kid. Idk what other use this has.
This unit could use a BP CONVERSIONS goosseneck hitch, dont need all that weight on the bumper.
Looks like a cool product, but it makes it even longer overall.
Including the A/C unit, it’s 12’ 2” which is what a lot of BP’s are. Lol.
I'm surprised at the weight. My hitch on my 1 ton is only rated to 10000 lbs. I didn't even know you could get a higher rated bumper pull hitch (over 10k lbs). Of course, my truck is also a 1999....
Strange that one wouldn’t have a washer dryer. Even a combo unit. Maybe even a dishwasher too. Nice unit though👍
The 41 feet of this is much much longer than the 41 feet of a 5th wheel because a good 5-9 feet of your 5th wheel are over the bed.
Insane..surprised its only on double axle and not triple
No washer and dryer is a deal breaker for me. I would have been scoping this out in Florida
what about hitches like this? What can you tell me? Gen-Y Hitch GH-8041 Fifth-Wheel King Pin Box? Can it be use with a Haul Rite Lite hitch?
The Bigger the Better
A home on wheels.
Does it say anywhere on your 5th wheel your full length, I purchased it as a 23 foot but when I have gone into a rv park they said no way so I guessed and said a 28 foot but was looking for an official length. They gave me the height of 12.3 . Interested. Haven't took out a tape to measure yet
It's nice but the placement of the main bathroom seems very inconvenient, all the way in the back?
So there are so many ways I would something this big differently
Totally lost me when you walked in the rv. The mixture of the baggage doors weight and the lack of slam latches had me checking out. But when you walked in and I saw that giant couch I was out. Thanks for the great content.
Absolutely ridiculous to have a trailer that size with the 1100 lb cargo capacity.
Need that washer dryer hook up
It has it! The plumbing is behind the panel in the cabinet. ☺️
If it’s windy that thing will be a mess
I like this unit except dining table set up
I think this is my favorite travel trailer just wondering if it can be plumbed for washer dryer because its right over wet bay
I’ve looked into the configuration for this specific unit and yes you can get a washer dryer setup it’s an option though. I currently have one on order
We have this trailer and we have a washer and dryer. The plumbing is behind the back paneling in the cabinet. My husband did the vent install for the dryer.
The newer gms 3/4 tons have a higher gvr than the normal 10K would those newer models be okay with the payloads being much higher or would you still highly recommend the 1 ton SRW?
For a 41 foot trailer like this it's probably best to get as stiff of a suspension as you can so if any sway starts to happen hopefully the truck can absorb it in a sense and not let it start moving your truck around. If you we're gonna do a 3/4 ton I'd probably say get air bags or some kind of extra suspension help and stabilizer bars. With a 40 foot trailer there's a huge amount of trailer for a side wind to start blowing it around on the road. While a fifth wheel of similar size has the same amount of side wall I think the connect is more secure and anti-sway because it's over the rear axles so it's harder for it to push the rear of the truck around. Where as with a bumper pull the wind can push the trailer to the side easier and cause the back end of the truck to absorb more of that force in its suspension on one side which causes more body roll which leads to sway.
I don't know if any of that made any sense, but basically in my mind the stiffer the suspension the better control the truck will have at absorbing the trailers movement so a 1 ton would be best.
Do you need a 350 duality for this?
Not really 'plenty of room' on the sides of the king bed. I would put in a queen so there actually would be 'plenty of room' on both sides. 😁
One thing I’m glad to see is they finally dumped the waste of space for a table and chairs. That’s just pure waste when they put a table and chairs in there to me. I would a lot rather have more seating for people.
