- Which is the WORST Broly in all of #DragonBall and #DragonBallZ and even #DragonBallSuper? Dragon Ball Super: Broly was a tour de force...but for the least loved version, we need to look to the movies - Bio Broly is the character's lowest ebb. A lot of people view it as the worst Dragon Ball Z movie ever...but can we fix it? Can we make the idea of a Bio Broly or a clone of the Saiyan a viable story? Let's do it!

Imagine if Kamino got their hands on Broly's DNA where they will use it to create a Clone Army and they handle it better than the Bio-Broly.
That is scary af. The clone army, but instead of a bounty hunter of near unrivaled skill, it's a saiyan warrior with the potential for near unrivaled power. Palpatine would have the ultimate army when Order 66 rolled around.
And then Starkiller's clone shows up for a fight...

What I would have liked the most from the Bio-Broly movie was a sort of "Gotenks redemption" moment, where Goten and Trunks, matured a bit after the events of the Buu saga, actually form a more "serious" Gotenks that plays around a lot less and actually fights and defeats Bio-Broly.

I would honestly like to see a what-if scenario where General Blue turned not bad, or even Anti-Hero if it gets to a certain point.
With what we see of Cell's level of telekinesis in creating the Cell Games arena, the idea of General Blue controlling his telekinesis to a powerful extent would actually do a bit of damage. Especially if he learns Ki Techniques.
Imagine if he had something like Hellzone Grenade but instead of the opponent dodging, he's just slamming them into the mass of Ki Blasts with his Telekinesis.
chiaotzu would be a great teacher to blue...he has them physics powers.
How bout an addendum to "what if Broly turned good?" Where Broly fights bio-broly, who represents his darker side?

I'd fix bio-broly by, well, fixing the cloning process? Make it so they couldn't fully clone Broly because there was some damaged genes, so they replaced those with human genes.
This ends up with Bio-Broly being a bit more stable, not only physically but mentally

you actually made Bio Broly GENUINELY awesome.
Making him Frieza's personal death machine is SO plausible and fitting! Frieza making his own bastardized pet of a Saiyan as a mocking taste of their own medicine... It's genius! Making new Bio Broly more like Z Broly would also be an amazing way to differentiate the two. And if he were to eventually break down, I would much prefer if he looked more like Fused Zamasu's corruption than a swamp monster.
Remaking the Bio Broly movie with some other original biological monster would be a decent way to make the film inoffensive, give the kids and Krillin/18 something to grapple with, but the Frieza clone man...it genuinely has LOADS of potential.
If Swamp Thing from DC Comics & Man-Thing from Marvel Comics used fusion.
One of the sad things is that cloning could have been an interesting premise to explore
Like a 'Artificial Sayian arc' some bad scientist tey to recreate the worrier race by observing Goku all these years, which will obviously go horribly wrong for the guy

Isn’t that cell, of course there’s more to cells backstory than that but the basics of what u said is spot on.
The idea of it falling apart could easily be explained with one thing. The real Broly is the only one who's the Legendary Super Saiyan. Maybe not even an exact clone can truly use this power, and that causes it to fall apart, and essentially start decaying?

I enjoyed Bio-Broly a lot because I watched it as a Resident Evil movie instead of a Dragon Ball Z movie, really fun.
So the original Bio-Brolly..if the goo hadn't melted him into what we got...would the clone actually have been succesfull?
He came out the cloning tank too early and couldn't fully gain a lot of Broly's notable traits like insane speed, durability, and power. The culture fluid also heavily impaired his abilities as well but was compensated for new powers like instant regeneration, eye beam, mouth beam, and the ability to rotate its head 180 degrees.

Honestly not a bad modernization concept. I genuinely feel it's in character for everyone.
Though frankly what i want would be the catalyzer for clone broly to go goopy would be seeing the moon. Him starting to transform and 'did you really think my people would be stupid enough to NOT put a failsafe in?'
The idea of Freeza cloning a Broly of his own, sounds like something he would do.

Honestly, I think the villain of this movie should have been Cell with how you suggested the villain be an amalgamation of the other fighters. Maybe Jaguar found Dr. Gero's plans (if not somehow taking a sample of Cell's DNA during the Cell Games) and wanted to see if Hercule really did beat Cell. 18 being there would be perfect since she finally has a chance to get back at Cell for absorbing her before.
Jaguar? The guy from Edens Zero where he is member of the Oracion Seis Interestelar and user of Ether Gear that turns him into a jaguar man.
yeah.. this could also be a catalyst for Cell to finally evolve to Cell X.. which could be an interesting powerup considering cell has that potential
The only good part about the Bio Broly movie was seeing Goten and Trunks fight against him as a team.
When he got to the point on using Broly's DNA my mind kinda veered off to Broly and Cheelai doing the horizontal tango
Yeah, this is a perfect vehicle for a OG Broly versus Super Broly fight, maybe even be what lets Super Broly learn to control some of his rage better going up against himself.
You know what wouldn't surprise me if freezer decided to take in some of the sayin genetic dna from the cloning procedure I do recall in dbz freeza consider the namekian DNA when it came to regenerating thats another possibility.
Here's an idea. What if all the movies were "canonical"? There, pull that one off.

I always thought that bio-broly as a concept had so much potential. Who wouldn't want to see a clone of the legendary super saiyan, but the fact they made him look like sludge was trash. A clone Broly - paying homage to the OG one at this point in time would be a crazy idea to implement in the movies!
I hated Bio Broly, since figured would of been tough as in the last two, but wasn't. Thought why not have him go unstable Bio Form when he gets pushed back or has trouble unlocking his Legendary Super Saiyan form because the Bio clones are not perfect and can not copy Broly's power correctly. (Making this comment before watching whole video)
I would love to see this appear. Though I'd like to see the bio broly wear armour, freeza force armour just looks awesome on anyone
I would LOVE to see a clone of Broly (DBZ Broly) being manipulated by Frieza and is ordered to fight DBS Broly in a 1v1 fight to the death. If this actually happened in future DBS movies, lets just hope the Broly clone doesn't turn into THAT because of some malfunction or something.
The idea of scientists creating a army of Cloned Sayians always fascinated me.
I would love to 'canon-ize' Z Broly by making him a clone of Super Broly.
This reminds me a bit of my "Dragon Ball Super: Broly in Xenoverse" pitch. My idea was that you'd have a storyline in Xenoverse based on Super's Broly movie and the player character would just keep waiting for Towa and Mira to interfere, but they wouldn't. When Gogeta is about to finish off Super Broly, they either cut in or steel Chile's wish or something like that, rob Super Broly of all his power and latent potential, and plug that into the DBZ Movie-era Broly, who then has power enough to survive Gogeta until the fusion wears off and a far more concentrated bloodlust compared with his Super counterpart.
Ultimately it would take everybody, including Super Broly, to fight him to the finish, while making various fun homages to the old movies (the two Broly's could have the "Not a monster, the devil" conversation), criticizing Z Broly for not having much to live for, and reinforcing Super Broly's bonds ultimately giving him a reason to win.

I adore bio-broly. It’s so batshit insane, and it really feels like a 60s B movie. One of my favorite dragon ball movies.

I feel conflicted about it, I enjoy the batshit crazy-ness of the movie but I hate that they used Broly when they could use literally anyone (from Tao Pai Pai to Hercule) and the plot wouldn't be much different

I have a nice way to get to goopy bio-broly, frieza would have a fail safe he wouldn’t want what happened before to happen so we get a gruesome scene where instead of a shock collar it would be a shock through his flesh? Or blood stream through nanobites or maybe whatever frieza is made of. He is shocked when bio-broly overcomes the shock to the nervous system and his skin bursts and melts away turning him goopy
Combining the plots/characters from the best Broly movie with the worst Broly movie is a great idea and setup. I'd watch this if it were made.

I only saw the original movie recently, and have to affirm there were good character moments but few good fights. Mr.Jaguar's grudge against Mr.Sa-HERCULE shouldn't have really gone to Broly, and having a clone just for that was pretty fruitless. Having Frieza do all this? GREAT start! Building him into a berserker more like Z Broly? Perfect! The proper cast and arrangement still feels hazy even after the video, but toning the weakness down (if keeping it at all) is a must. If not for already being around in a way, this would already be one of the better DB movies.
I mean, movie 11 was a good movie with a decent plot. They have to involve a clone of Broly and not good boy Broly from Super.
It wasn't, it was terrible. Along with the second Cooler movies, they are the worst DBZ movies. I mean, i guess Kid Trunks, Goten and Android 18 being the main characters was cool, but outside of that it was dumb.
@@okagron Bio-Broly the character was actually the worst thing about the film is where I was getting at. You could easily salvage the film by removing him, and have a better movie than what we had. I mean, they could have made a different villain and it would still work.

Interesting that in Super Broly we see him actually drink water for the first time and in this scenario the clone is weakened by it

I love DBS Broly he's a very well built character, I think a good way to revamp bio Broly would be that some person or organization got their hands on Broly's DNA and tried to clone him into a weapon and then the cloned Broly could have the original Broly's personality. Plus they could make it that the reason New Bro-Broly hates Goku is because they tampered with the clone's memories of Goku to make him more aggressive since DBS Broly is more of a friendly rival to Goku. This is all by the way for the record if DNA clones even had the same memories in the DB universe.

I love the video and everything! However, one thing sorta was on my mind. Which is more about character design then story, but...
I love Bio Broly design and it's just off how everyone is either hate it or just on the fence. Personally, I think it did a great job of looking like a mutated abomination of Broly and is the best goopy form in DBZ!!! It also feels like a Resident Evil character was given the DBZ treatment.
Not gonna lie, this video inspired me for an idea along the lines of a Heroes or Xenoverse concept I had. Thank you so very much for the idea fuel and thought provoking ^^

Edit: YT deleted this part of my comment for no good reason: I had a similar idea for a while lol. I was thinking of a fan story with Z Broly vs. Kale. Where Broly would be growing in power faster but Kale had Caulifla, and eventually Broly would melt from his own power while she would reign it in. But as fun as it is, either version is at best a decent movie evoking the old Z-style, but I'm okay with keeping the new style of very important, canon films. But if Super is gonna have small arcs like Potafu again, I see no problem making a Broly clone one...Or you know, Heroes could get good at giving people what they want. It just throws Broly out but doesn't do anything with him. Plots like these are what Heroes should be good for.
For the original Z run, just replace Maloja with Paragus. Make it his story trying to hold onto his son. Would help Second Coming too. Heck, explaining how he survived the first film so he can take Broly to Earth is a lot better than...Completely ignoring how Broly would've made it to Earth and incased in ice on his own.

Frieza made a Broly clone out of one of his giant giga-turds. That guy eats a ton of red meat. However, cross-contamination comes into play, since Broly eats all his meat rare at most.. Enter... BIO BROLY COW.

One of these days, I want to send you my movie length fic. And by movie length, I mean 125 pages and I don't know how to trim the fat.
Can you wait the Granolah arc out before starting Season 2 of Revelation F? We don't know enough about Oatmeel or the Heeters or what it might take to make Granolah sane again to know how everyone would react to Captain F.
Another plus for Bio-Broly, to me, was that it unironically had some of the best choreography in Z. Goten and Trunks coordination was very well telegraphed and Bio-Broly's brutality against Goten and Trunks was good too, holding Trunks by his leg and rapidly punching him in the face then strangling Goten to near death and using his unconscious body as a weapon against Krillin and 18.

in my opinion Bio Broly would work in Dragonball FighterZ a "new" Broly with another design to make him different enough from the other Broly Characters maybe with his own moves and stuff.. I mean it would be a nice addition with the amount of Gokus we have in that Game... though I still hope for another Season.. a DB(Z) Fighting Game without Hercule just feels wrong!

Up until last week I forgot that I actually own this movie (back when it was ridiculously hard to get these things I scored the "Broly trilogy" on DVD)
