I was thinking to have them cleaned but you just saved me a lot of money! I bet that you also cleaned the intake valves nicely. Actually, I wonder, if the engine is running well and not missing, no idling problems, then it would probably also work to add fuel treatment to the gas tank every so often
@@AliMECH thank you man. I got a check engine recently. Got code P0272, issues with the 4th cylinder and research says it could be clogged or partially clogged fuel injector. I also did change my fuel injectors earlier in the year in April but I got a job that has had me put a boatload of miles on my car since then. The car is a Hyundai Elantra, 2013 and in the last few weeks three times stopped accelerating while I was driving and then accelerating again after pulling over waiting and a moment. I recently changed transmission fluid and checked it to be safe, oil is changed regularly, I cleaned my throttle body which was not as dirty as I thought it would be, spark plugs are recent, ignition coils are recent and battery and alternator are new. I Was gonna just replace the injector on cylinder 4 til I saw this video. To be fair I ordered the fuel injectors cheap on Amazon because I can’t make money grow on trees. I tried it. I’m not a mechanic but it seems like it did some cleaning. Not sure it worked 100 %. I saw a change though. Also, was hard to create the adapter, I used a glue gun and when spraying the liquid goes back thru the adapter and was spilling out so I pushed hard on cap created with glue gun material surrounding the hose adapter tip and continued to spray even with spill going and finally got car to turn on for hmm 4-8sec then turned off, I finished the whole can. So not sure it worked only because it seems my Lincoln MKX needs spark plugs replacement soon. So not sure of fix 100%. But it does clean if you think thru it. Carb cleaner goes thru injectors. Also for my suv, I didn’t take back seats off, I made a hole on carpet under those rear seats to get to fuel pump. Worked fine as I cut a line in a way I can lay down carpet again.
Awesome Video. I have a 2005 chevy express 5.3 V8 that was sitting for 7 years with gas in it and i was planning to remove both fuel rails this weekend to clean injectors, but it was looking like a lot of work - this seems way easier. I noticed that i have 2 lines, i guess 1 is a return line. Does it matter that the return line may take carb cleaner into the gas tank?

Is it best to have it as close to the injectors as possible? Or can I connect it further down the line as well? in my car, my fuel rail is screwed onto the fuel inlet line and right before it is the mechanical high pressure fuel pump, and right before the fuel pump would be the most accessible location to do this. Thanks
Have a question that you may or may not know the answer to? Have a 2000 Ford Expedition the fuel rail has two hoses, one skinnier and one fatter which one would be the intake or the one I would spray the fuel injector cleaner into? Or as I’m thinking about it do I possibly spray into both since it’s an eight cylinder? Thanks is one possibly a return or is it just fatter because it has to go all the way to the other side of the engine and will need a little more fuel possibly?
If you can, do each side individually if its possible and easy to get the both side of fuel lines, because the carb cleaner can cant provide that much pressure to run the engine for a long time
@@AliMECH I went on one of the Ford forums and they said the wider side was the intake and the skinnier side was the return, so I sprayed about 1 can through the fat side but my glue didn’t hold up very well and was the source of a few leaks the line going into the car held up perfectly at the fuel rail but the part with a straw, it leaked out of there a few times and would shoot out under pressure, I used superglue but it seems like the superglue was getting eaten up by the gum out carb cleaner? Anyway in spite of a few leaks it seemed to work pretty well and the truck would run for 20 seconds until it started leaking out around the straw. Thanks for info, they seem cleaner, truck runs pretty smooth and starts faster.
What was the short clear tube that the straw was glued to for? Is the clear tube put inside of the short piece of black line or was it just for demonstration purpose? Thanks.
Does the carb cleaner not affect the cylinder walls by removing the oil and possibly messing something up with the pistons cleaning the injectors this way ? Maybe another pressurized spray will work also like a intake spray throught the injectors ?
Also it highly toxic and can't be good for the engine. Some cleaners have allsorts of other chemicals in them like chlorine. Better to just buy a proper cleaning kit

Hi Ali, I have a problem. I was cleaning the injectors as per the video, but the engine died on me during the cleaning, about 2minutes into it when running on the cleaner... now it won't start again either on cleaner or gasoline... what could be the issue? This is a simple engine on a 2006 lancer 2.0 petrol... took out the fuel rail line (some rust in there), and injectors and tested - they all are alive (clicking & spraying)... tested the ignition for sparks, all good... could it be be something electronic?... timing belt slip maybe from the very rough idling?....It was running perfectly fine on LPG, but very rough on petrol hence the reason for doing the cleaning...
Did you do this on a diesel or petrol engine? Not sure how safe this would be for an diesel engine , for petrol definitely ok bu diesel run on lot lower temp.
@@spsenator so the story goes: I gave up eventually, had it towed to a local Japanese specialist shop... they managed to bring it back to life somehow... they said all they did was to check the injection and ignition systems and replaced the spark plugs... that worked for a few months...then i got the rough idle issue again... tried everything as thought it was related to intake air leak... even replaced the intake manifold gasket... ignition coils... very frustrating... what helped in the end was a new after-market IACV motor and a new set of spark plugs (Denso)... now engine idles smooth as new... so to sum it up, my issue was not related to injectors after all...
I've gotta try this on my Jeep. I have noticebly lower gas mileage, occassional misfiring on start ups, and i was going to remove the rails to see the before and after effect myself. Wana see if indeed any of the injectors are clogged.
Have you done this on a 97 Tacoma V6 and would it be easy to access the fuel line connection? And would you need to connect a spray bottle to both fuel rails? Thanks.

Hi, no, it is petrol...
did you figure out the issue?
@@spsenator so the story goes: I gave up eventually, had it towed to a local Japanese specialist shop... they managed to bring it back to life somehow... they said all they did was to check the injection and ignition systems and replaced the spark plugs... that worked for a few months...then i got the rough idle issue again... tried everything as thought it was related to intake air leak... even replaced the intake manifold gasket... ignition coils... very frustrating... what helped in the end was a new after-market IACV motor and a new set of spark plugs (Denso)... now engine idles smooth as new... so to sum it up, my issue was not related to injectors after all...
did you use the wholw carb clearner
I've gotta try this on my Jeep. I have noticebly lower gas mileage, occassional misfiring on start ups, and i was going to remove the rails to see the before and after effect myself. Wana see if indeed any of the injectors are clogged.
Now this video is something different than the previous one. Nice. Question? This is petrol car, can we do the same for diesel?
Thanks, No you cant do that on diesel engines
How you do on diesel injectors so, please?
Do you think the same process would work well with seafoam or marvel mystery oil?
Hello, great vid, what size was the washer and clear tube?
Thanks, well it depends on ur cars fuel rail tube size, mostly its 8mm inner tube diameter used
@@AliMECH thank you
Hey, can I use Lucas multi purpose cleaner aerosol ? Thanks. Great video. I’m looking to give this a try .
Would this work on a car with a hpfp driven by the cam? Specifically VW.
Excellent video should we do this on low fuel ?
Yes, because you don't need fuel, car working on carb cleaner
Have you done this on a 97 Tacoma V6 and would it be easy to access the fuel line connection? And would you need to connect a spray bottle to both fuel rails? Thanks.
