Well, I didn't really realize how to prime the master cylinder.I've forgotten about that over the years.. You sparked. A memory cap and didn't realize that. When you have a dead pedal like bricks. You have to pump this one maybe fifty times uh take the build up the Pressure I thought about putting this in a jar and getting the bubbles out but I can see you got the bubbles out of that's interesting... So it makes sense now.I appreciate it.I will do it more your way.I think your way is pretty accurate...
thanks for doing this tutorial, I found it helpful. one thing grated on me. Don't use standard open ended spanners on brake lines. get a Flare Nut Spanner Set, or brake line spanner set. they are wider ring spanners with a slot cut out to fit over the brake line. yes, I've been there with burred over nuts on brake lines. the small spend on brake line spanner set will be money well spent.
Great video, congratulations and thanks a lot for teaching all of us! I realised I got a problem trying to shift gear when I start up my car. I don't think I have some trouble with my clutch pedal, I can push it down like was always, middle hard, I have proper amount of brake fluid at container. I have no idea what to do to try solve it.
Good job. You were really clear in explaining step by step . I like how you broke every thing down that it made perfect sense. Kudos keep up the good videos👍.
I believe you did a very good job of explaining this process. I also believe that I can follow your guidance in order to replace the master clutch cylinder on my Toyota pickup. My only concern is that the line that runs from the master clutch cylinder to the slave cylinder will also have to be replaced. Thank you.
Great video. I'm sure my master cylinder is gone... The first symptom was shuddering of the pedal ... Clutch was replaced 3 years ago so Iassume it's not that ..
Got an 03 celica and when it starts it wont go in any gear, when its off it can go into all the gears. Everything says its a CMC so im confident to get it done
hi i had a bad master slave but when i installed it on my padel my padel stuck to the floor i pulled back but the whole rod came out through the fire wall should i get another master salve ?
hello there I'm trying to replace my master cylinder but i saw your step pumping the newer cylinder.. can i bleed it thru the lower slave after i put the newer cylinder?
I've had problems with my clutch master cylinder ever since I bought the truck. It has been replaced by a mechanic multiple times. Is it possible that the master cylinder continues to fail due to insufficient bleeding of the system? If it's not that, do you know of other reasons why a master cylinder should keep failing after a couple of years' driving?
Hey I know this video has a couple of years but I had a question. I have a Nissan patrol with a clutch booster does this method that ur showing going to work for me as well ?
Fastest way gravity bleed with clutch up get a steady string now close a slave cylinder bleeder ..Next push the clutch down with the stick n hold Open bleader and push the slave cylinder piston all the way closed clothes and bleeder You should now have pressure...Only works on sachs slave....
Hey Jabo, I have a question. My 91 Nissan pathfinder has one bleed valve in the engine compartment, and then another down by the slave cylinder. Do I need to bleed the engine compartment one first and then the lower slave valve? Or should I just leave the engine compartment one closed and bleed from the slave bleed valve below?
My clutch wont disengage fully, I noticed when I depress the clutch pedal the fluid in my resevouir lowers and when I release the pedal it raises again, does this mean my clutch master cylinder is bad?
I'm about to install a clutch master cylinder for my 2001 Ford Escape (4 cylinder). The only difference I can see so far is that my master cylinder feeds from the brake master cylinder. How different will that process be compared to what you've shown? Great video by the way!
Great video. I have a question, though. I followed your video step by step for pulling master cylinder out. The thing looks fine except for super old oil sludge since I neglected this for a while. It was almost empty too. Two questions: (1) Is it possible the pedal failed because I did not have oil at MIN level? (2) If I cleaned it out with WD40 or Simple Green, will any remaining of those products interact badly with the new oil? Thanks in advance.
I've got the same truck I've changed the master and slave cylinder over a dozen times nothing works..... But of course I never went to the dealer😢😢😢😢😢😢.. Just autozone O'Reilly's in advance auto every single 1 of their parts leaks doesn't hold pressure
Um, what is a clutch? Are those the button thingies on the steering wheel that make the transmission shift? Is that what is called autostick system? I knew some one that had an autostick car. I think the clutch cylinder was going bad because he drove it like a regular car with no pushing the buttons on the steering wheel. Maybe she took out the clutch and let it drive like an ordinary car.

Do I have to change anything of clutch like clutch disc/pad anything of that sort if my clutch cylinder is screwed up?
Great video! One question, when you did the bench bleed, what was your procedure to close it up when you were done?
On an 03lancer does the u shaped pin clip have to be removed before you can pull the clutch master cylinder through the firewall
Very helpful... Thanks bro 🤝

When bleeding you're pumping the clutch pedal not the brake, correct?
Correct

But I wouldn’t say “how to change any clutch master cylinder.” If I had a Nissan I’d be good to go though
Not sure if i was watching a clutch video or a video about youtube ads
I suppose you could go find a mechanic, pay them, and skip the ads. Dude, that's how people making a living for the free information you receive.

Hey I know this video has a couple of years but I had a question. I have a Nissan patrol with a clutch booster does this method that ur showing going to work for me as well ?
Where yours connects to the pedal that’s where my booster connects to and then my master slave connects to the booster
