I have an 08 and just like 4 months ago the VSA, BRAKE and ABS lights are on, it started happening when I went to Tennessee I needed to rectify the disc cause it was shaking and it was so bad I had to manually shift to 3rd and second gear so after that the lights went on. I just took it to my mechanic and he changed the 4 brakes and new discs also plus all four sensor but still lights are on. 🙄 so he told me maybe changing the module but factory wants 1K plus, I guess I will leave it like that since it brakes and hmmm handles good. hello george i have been watching you videos and learned alot of different things on how to fix and repair acuras but my issue is the vsa awd because i replaced the unit abs vsa and i also took it apart and it would not come apart i have a 2005 acura rl and i was wondering have you ever come across the issue where this is happening because its driving me crazy i know the front wheels on the awd are ok on the display and the rears dont show or move in the display i asked the dealer and they told me it might have to be recalibrated but they wont and dont want to give the software for the vehicle so my question is have you been able to work around the dealer oem software

I have a 2001 Acura tl and bad motor but I cab fix the motor. I had wondered if there was a trick to getting the motor shaft back in to engage the pump rods. Your solution will be tried. Thanks. I am disappointed in the way the ABS Control Module and motor is designed to deter replacing just the motor. Brush DC motors can all be repaired before they totally fail by replacing bearings and brushes after a thorough cleaning.
My 2015 Civic is had those lights but they only come on after driving for awhile but then once I stop turn the car off then let it sit for an hour or so the lights go of but than after driving for awhile again the lights comeback on but the car runs fine no problems with brakes or abs or power steering it’s got me baffled 🤔

@@osemoborisaac8976 Ended up getting another used module and should have never taken it apart in the first place. You are able to put it back. You have to use positive and negative alligator clips and give it power from the other side and push once the motor spins.

honda avoid to use silicone fluids in this electrics pumps the original Honda fluid it’s lf4 that’s smells like Castor oil and it’s a kind of light orange color some times other brake fluids brands can cause a failure code few miles Ecu processing and disconect the abs or the electric pump and cause accidents same to eps the motor is disconnected by the ecu to protect the system causing accidents to the persons a really dumb idea from Honda

My ABS/TCS/Brake lights came on about a month ago. Got my Blue Driver scan tool out and says it is a 121-11 code (VSA solenoid failure - Regulatory valve LF or RR). This is on my 2012 Honda Accord. I take it to Honda on Monday to see if they can diagnosis what is wrong. I am hoping they don't try and screw me on this repair.

Can you show how you got the motor back in? How did you move the two pin out out the way? For the DIYers, the many of the Honda ABS motor is impossible to put it back in....So if your ABS unit is good don't remove the motor or you're totally screwed. Thump down for advising against doing this or show how it was done (not possible). Sorry!
George Melnik I also have similar problem but in my case the abs module was replace because it was cracked open and activated all the light on the dash “xmas tree”. Now i have got the complete unit replaced but the lights are still there. Do you have any advice. Does it need some kind of programing learning. Had my car scanned and the shop claim all sensors just need to drive it???? Sound like BS to me?

I say prove me wrong sir! I dare you to take it out again and show us just how you powered it up while sliding it in! I think the way your explaining how to reinstall the motor, while every conveniently not showing it at all, is completely impossible! You took it off, like everyone else and discovered it wasn’t going back on! To save face you bought another pump then showed it after you installed it. I’ve repaired automobiles for 30 years. Mercedes,Porsche,Lexus. The only way I was able to this was by gently prying the bearing off the shaft and pushing the bearing in first then The pump motor shaft into the bearing. It’s not easy. You can not just push the bearing in flat,because the pins won’t move back. This is hard to explain. Imagine the bearing laying flat on a table. This is the position its in when installed. Now before you install it Turn the bearing up on it edge,like it’s a wheel on the table top.in this position it could roll across the theoretical table top. In this position you push it into the circle it normally sits in flush, laying flat. But you push its edge into the 3 and 6 o’clock positions of the pens. Push it in edge first will push back the pins, then push it down flat into the hole it lays flat in. Then push the motor shaft back into the bearing and then put the screws in and gently go around and evenly pull the motor back down flush to the housing. Good luck. I would definitely just put in the whole pump assembly and bleed the brakes if I ever had to do it again. Good luck to all that try.

@@imtoxicking I noticed that this is really common problem even a year after I replace it from Honda dealer. The way I fix that just by "Never" turn On Econ mode. Reason why because that ABS need lots of power. Turning ON "Econ" mode that only use less power actually reduce electric power send to ABS and make the light indicator ON especially if we have lots of charger cord in cabin. Since then, I never have this issue no more.
@@imtoxicking It will take a while for that to affect since this is part of the chip shortage. I went to dealer two months ago because ABS light On like 5 of them at the same time. It was quote about $2,200 which is higher $400 than what I paid 2 years ago. Dealer said because the chip shortage, they increase the price and I also need to wait for 2 months for the part to arrived. They eventually have to put my car in their garage for 2 months after I have to pay $150 inspection fee. You know I was Mad 😡 as hell there and refuse to pay the $150 quote and have my car stay there for the next 2 months. They finally called their general manager after I scream out loud 📢 "I Can Put this Dealer out of business!!". The general manager finally came to talk to me and give me solution about the common ABS problem. Finally they let me get my car back and waived $150 fee. After I drove about 2 days with "Econ" mode off , "voila" those ABS light shut off and never turn On again until today. Hope someone will do what your recommendation which is the Best opinion so far. My car is almost 300K miles and only last another 50K or 100K if am lucky. Thank you.

I had the same problem... I had to flush the brake system 5x time then forced the ABS and VSA to kick while test driving. So far it fixed my problem. I believe that if you have dirty brake fluid, it contaminate the VSA solenoid in the pump. Honda should have a Technical service bulletin for that issue

It will stop like normal except for the hard breaking skip that they abs would do

Possible, just did one without replacing the whole thing. Just need to power up the motor and it'll slide it back in place

@@kennethmclendon7849 the pin between the motor and module can be pull out. Wrap some tape around it and give it ground and power
