Freshers don't have to worry much because everything will be taught from the basics. So in the probation period of freshers they only check if the candidate is open to learn or not or is he catching the lessons or not. Generally freshers join with the bond so anyhow they are most probably secured even in probation period.

The 4 year gap is hard to ignore for any IT industry. First if you could fill out the gap then try it you need some solid reason that the employer should see benefits for himself. I believe this is the solution or find a start up company and start a career. They may excuse those drawback.

In some cases if you are certified from any reputed institute and you have enough knowledge then they will definitely hire you and give you a hike on the basis of your previous salary. Such many instances happened in the Data Science field. So worth trying. Anyhow python is an upcoming trend so you will face much difficulty
