A career gap may indicate to employers that the candidate has fallen behind in their knowledge and abilities.
However, there are ways to mitigate the impact of a career gap in the IT industry. Some strategies include:
1. Continuing education: Taking courses or certifications to keep up with the latest technologies and trends in the industry.
2. Freelance or volunteer work: Taking on projects or volunteering for non-profit organizations can help fill employment gaps and demonstrate skills and experience.
3. Networking: Attending industry events and connecting with professionals can lead to job opportunities and help bridge career gaps.
4. Honesty: Being transparent about the reason for a career gap and highlighting any relevant skills and experiences gained during that time.
In conclusion, while career gaps can be a barrier for job seekers in the IT industry, there are strategies to overcome this challenge and demonstrate value to potential employers.
Due to the humongous Indian labor force the companies are at a position to judge petty things like career gap. It's a demand and supply thing at the end of the day. A company should only be bothered about skills and not personal things like career gaps.

I had 4.5 years of gap after graduation. Now working as a full stack developer in a big MNC.
I completed my engineering in June 2016 prepared for govt exam till 2020 but could not clear any. Then from 2020 I learned javascript for 6 months then joined a small start up in May 2021 at a salary of 10k per month. Worked in this startup for around 1 year and then in April 2022 I switched to a big MNC as a NodeJs developer at a package of 7 lpa. Currently working in this MNC as a full stack developer node+angular.
You can also begin your career in IT industry even after career gap but you have to start your career from a small startup, after gaining 1 year experience gap will not matter much

Also with carrier gap companies are considering age as a factor, so unline in us / western countries if you want to switch around late 40's most companies wont even consider ypr resume, Vodafone is one of them

I am currently giving an exam for Redhat RHCSA for which I took the course last year. I did my engineering in 2019 in ECE, and landed in a core startup, but got laid off due to Corona Virus hit. Uske baad se 4 years+ ka gap aa ra hai. I was busy in my fathers surgery. Beech me maine Coding Ninjas se C++ and data structure bhi kiya tha. Am stuck and puzzled. Tabhi aapke videos dikhe...and now I have some hope. I am starting from Linux administration, aage cloud technologies seekhna hai all the way for devOps. As you are an expert of this industry, Koi chance hai mera after clearing Redhat certification??
Now, due to recession the companies are laying off the employees and due to recession the x employees are not getting the calls for this carrier gap how can they accept??

it all depends on their requirements. Freelancing and teaching experience, doing course with proofs also in the same tech stack were not accepted, i have faced it personally HR said that

@@starsinthesky593 unfortunately there is no solution. if you want to get into job, like i said its their requirements when they are urgent and how well you perform in the interview. you need keep waiting for your lucky day to get job or start something on your own. be more creative coz thats only thing which has scope due to artificial intelligence. I posted that comment 4 months ago still I have not got any job. I'm trying, losing hope now.

Sirf skill matter karta hai or kuch nhi. Aap college dropout ho, ya carrier gap hai. kuch matter nahi karta hai. Aapke pas skill hai or aap skill ko show kr sakte ho to job mil jata hai. Ye sab youtuber apne passive income ke liye, content ke nam pr kuch bhi bol dete hai. Koi traning company khol lenege to apne aap ko industry expert samjh jate hai. Is duniya salah dena subse aasan kam hai. 2 company me kam karke apne ap ko ghoshit epert samjh jate hai. Inko khud bhi nhi pata nhi ki, agar mera job chut gaya ya company band ho gaya to kya karenge. Only Skill and connection are most important thing in IT industry Or kuch bhi nhi.
