Another banging video Pete. Livingroom chipping into a duvet for the foreseeable so perfect timing. And let's face it, you chipped in and the Jordan didn't. Thats a win in my book 😂
What really illustrates just how good Jordan is with the short game. Is not so much how close he hit some of his shots. But the fact he didn't miss-hit any of them! That, and his level of comfort playing very difficult shots.
Pete thanks for coming down to my level - and of course giving us the instructions to get up to the level you got back to...Cheers, stay safe over there all you guys.
I've watched your videos over the years and just subscribed. Don't be so hard on yourself, you were playing against a Pro. Chipping in your first shot and your commentary afterwards made me subscribe! *Please continue to reinforce player's club selection. I learned more about utilizing my 60°and how grinds interact with shot selection and face angle. The chart afterwards was useful! Happy and healthy 2021 to EVERYONE out there from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (US).
Ugh, I hate tight lies, really hate them. Going to put them high up in my must-do practice list for 2021. Great vlog - Jordan comes across as a good, down to earth bloke! Cheers
good stuff Pete, although those thins through the green (glad to see you kept them in btw) explain why the 60 degree is such a hard club to use, and why most amateurs might be better off using a less lofted wedge
Awesome video. Def could have used this knowledge before playing yesterday. My short game was absolute shite and what I struggled with all-day. Gotta readjust to short game play in wet-winter conditions
Come on pete own up you closed your eyes on the first one🤣🤣. Mind you if so keep it up. I like the tips, weight forward, twmpo of swing and the obvious, from your play PRACTICE 🤣🤣😍😍
keeping the weight exactly the same is the key to a good flop or bunker shot. If you aren't good naturally, It's gonna take time, depending. There's no better feeling than hitting a flop to 5 feet with a lower tier of the green, 10 feet behind the hole. Makes everyones round a little better.
Loved this video, Jordan seems a nice bloke, very talented, much like yourself of course 😉😉 Nice hole out Pete, showing the tour pro how to do it!! I love the short game, its my favourite bit of golf, I love a bump and run, it's my go to shot 👍🏻👍🏻
Great channel pete, really found this one explained the shots around the green very well hope you do a similar video on rest of the irons. i need lessons.
Love your content Pete. Really look forward to your videos in a time when there isn't much else to look forward to. Now, if you could just show us how to walk right up to a ball and sink it on the first shot.... Oh wait.. Great shot!!
@Peter Finch Golf.....@8:40...with compacted (wet) sand, the key is to square the club face up more to reduce the bounce, especially if you play a high-bounce wedge....I'm not an expert but that's what works for me, takes the bounce out of it because wet/firm sand doens't require bounce to move the ball, and bounce actually works against you in that situation....opinions and butts right? ;-)
Also would like to point out it’s a great exercise learning how to hit different shots with one club rather than struggling to pick the best club for each type of shot all amateurs should practice this, it makes the short game a little bit more fun and give more confidence to the player
That tight-lie technique was what Phil Rodgers used to teach. When it was pure hardpan, he'd have you deliberately bounce the toe of club off the ground just before the ball. It's scary but it works really well.
Ok Mr. Finch, can I call you Peter? Well Mr. Finch as a life long subscriber and avid fan of the channel..............We your fans want to know........How many takes did it take to hole out on the first chipping station? The Vegas odds were 100 to 1 LOL! But other than the "alleged" hole out conspiracy so so so enjoyed it! 2021 bring on the flood of subscribers! You deserve it Peter! Ok ok Mr. Finch!
Hi Peter. Another great video. Your videos have been motivational and have really helped me through the last months of a crappy 2020. Keem 'em coming. If I could make a request; would like to see some videos centred around senior golfers. I know you can appreciate this as I know your Dad still plays golf. Would be interested in recommended UK and Europe golf courses which are more forgiving in terms of distance and geography. Must have golf buggies and/or trolleys. I can only manage 9 holes and would certainly not be able to carry even a half bag around. Also, any golfing tips. I was fascinated with the right-leg follow through that you helped your Dad implement to help with his driving. Do you also think that graphite shafts or even ladies clubs ( yes I know I'll get laughed at) would help. Looking forward to a vaccinated world and freedom.
Nice guy Jordan had the pleasure of meeting him at the Adidas invitational a couple years ago (think my team beat yours Pete 😜) still waiting for my 60 wedge to turn up
I actually really good with the flop shot from tons of practice with plastic and foam balls in the backyard but rest of my short game needs much work You can get quite good at flop shots with foam plastic balls but distance is diff with real balls obviously
That sir was the better of your teaching vlog. Most of us mortals have made good shots but I'm willing to bet that we are all pretty bad at it. Again thanks
Second comment on this video. Peter, have you done a video on the alignment of the feet compared with the direction of travel of the club compared to the direction of travel of the ball? (sorry if that's a stoopid question). If not, would be very interested in one. When standing over the ball chipping and stance is open, club head is open, sometimes not sure if club head should be travelling parallel to stance.
The comment about being a pure ball striker and never being in a bunker is similar to what Jack Nicklaus said to me back in 1999. I had the good fortune of caddying for him in a casual round with his surgeon, several months after his hip replacement. He hit two shots short into bunkers during his 18 hole round. The first bunker shot he holed and the second he hit to within 2 feet. I had recently read an article about Nicklaus not being a good bunker player, especially compared to one of his rivals, Gary Player. When he holed his first bunker shot, I commented that I thought he was not supposed to be a good bunker player. His response: “When I was young, I was rarely in bunkers, so I did not practice a lot . Now that I am older, I hit into bunkers more, so I practice more and I am getting better.
I've found that I've been hitting a lot of my bunker shots and chips off the toe as well :( so the answer is to get squarer in your stance? I feel like I'm going to hit it straight out of the hozel then.
The last one is the easiest of them all. Arm swing only folks! Take a weaker grip than normally, open your stance, and open the clubhead. (Hard turf and no grass is perfect.) Then just do a full swing in the tempo you need for the particular distance you have. The clubhead bounces on the ground under the ball, perfect distance every time. It´s EASY! (Trust me!)
Hey question for ya man. I have a 45 degree pitch wedge. 50 gap and 60 lob. Do you recommend getting a 54 or 56 sand wedge? Right now I have a 54 but i want to upgrade it. Not sure if a 56 would be more versatile
5 must have shots for a low handicapper as produced by a tour pro.....Something to aspire to definitely but the average golfer isn't going to have any consistency trying to copy these shots!
This guy is very unorthodox with his philosophies on these shots. Everyone has a different taste and his works for him. Square up for bunker shots? Ball always on front foot for chipping? Always grabs his highest lofted wedge? Hey, bravo man.
You can still watch gardening videos if you want ❤️ WHACK THAT LIKE BUTTON ❤️
Smashed the like button
💪🏻🤜🏻👍🏻
Mic drop with the first shot. 💪💪💪
Love ur videos helped me with my game alot thanks
Top notch 😎🥴
For real. Smash cut to Credits. Go home for the day.
My guy, I love your channel, this is why golf is an amazing brotherhood/sisterhood
Awesome first shot Peter lol 😂 lovin the nest lockdown content much needed thanks dude
Cheers man
The sound of his strikes out the bunker! Beautiful
What a start.
Another banging video Pete. Livingroom chipping into a duvet for the foreseeable so perfect timing. And let's face it, you chipped in and the Jordan didn't. Thats a win in my book 😂
Cheers Simon
Seriously Pete, how do you not have more followers!! The man, the myth, the Legend, Peter Finch!
That wedge advice was obviously correct! bravo!
Pete brings a pro into his video to show how to play around the green... Holes his first attempt with ease #JUSTPETETHINGS
With ease is pushing it 😂
Lucky first shot - no pressure Pete 🙊🙉🙈🤣🤣🤣
What a start!

Pulling one out in front of the clubhouse! 😆 Matron.
Thanks for that Pete. Glad you didn't edit out the poor ones. Just shows that everyone needs to practice. Well done Jordan. Top man

Happy and healthy 2021 to EVERYONE out there from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (US).
Really enjoy the self deprecating humour Pete!
Brilliant lesson, thank you Mr Finch👍😊
Yes to gardening videos and finch vids!
Fab video Pete and what a shot on the first one! Loads of great grind information from Jordan Smith too, made it easy to understand! 😀
The last shot was an excellent tip!
Really enjoyed that video, thanks 👍
Gr8 video Pete! That chip in was superb!! Was so excited to get that Peter Finch notification today. I may have shed a tear or two( or 20)😭
Enjoyed that, as well as taking in some good advice. Cheers fellas.
It was great to hear how the tour pro thought and how to play.
Ugh, I hate tight lies, really hate them. Going to put them high up in my must-do practice list for 2021.
Great vlog - Jordan comes across as a good, down to earth bloke!
Cheers
What a start Pete, and what a video, I picked up some really useful stuff here. Can't wait to see how I can do it when we get back to playing again
Great video Pete! I snap shotted the summary at 15:14 👍
Topped and tailed the video with decent shots Pete! Jordan's technique for playing that tight lies shot is interesting. Can't wait to try it.
good stuff Pete, although those thins through the green (glad to see you kept them in btw) explain why the 60 degree is such a hard club to use, and why most amateurs might be better off using a less lofted wedge

Just incredible value. Thanks a lot, guys!
Come on pete own up you closed your eyes on the first one🤣🤣. Mind you if so keep it up. I like the tips, weight forward, twmpo of swing and the obvious, from your play PRACTICE 🤣🤣😍😍
'Wide and wooden', works a treat!

P Finch back home. Love your videos my friend, keep it up! Cheers!
Great channel pete, really found this one explained the shots around the green very well hope you do a similar video on rest of the irons. i need lessons.
Fantastic content!
Man the sound of his contact was incredibly crisp.
Gr8 vid again Pete and replying the first shot 10 times
Nothing is better than watch peter
Love this one, great recap on shot variety! Can you do one on how play on an extremely wet and muddy ground?
Love your content Pete. Really look forward to your videos in a time when there isn't much else to look forward to. Now, if you could just show us how to walk right up to a ball and sink it on the first shot.... Oh wait.. Great shot!!
You Pete, you are absolutely hilarious man. Even if you weren’t awesome at playing golf, I would still watch for the humor element
Nice chip in pete

Pete with your mindset / pych training i just cannot believe you "wimped" out!!!! I can never watch one of your vlogs the same way!!!🙊🙉🙈🤣🤣🤣
*4 minutes in* alright good video, on to the next video now Peter.
Good video, very entertaining.
That tight-lie technique was what Phil Rodgers used to teach. When it was pure hardpan, he'd have you deliberately bounce the toe of club off the ground just before the ball. It's scary but it works really well.
The shot i am most nervous about is a tight lie, downhill over a bunker.
Seems that i wound up at that location more than i should.
You’re not the only one!

Hi pete, what are looking at when assessing the lie of the ball?
This is what I needed to get through another lockdown
Can you use a tight lie set up from a compacted bunker?
Great video Peter, thanks for making this. Will you be doing the quest for the open this year? Thanks again can't wait for the next vid!
Nice guy Jordan had the pleasure of meeting him at the Adidas invitational a couple years ago (think my team beat yours Pete 😜) still waiting for my 60 wedge to turn up
Pete great video
Brilliant video, excellent first shot Pete then it mostly went down hill😂
Do you play the bunker shots differently depending on the sand and whether it's compact/wet/soft?
I actually really good with the flop shot from tons of practice with plastic and foam balls in the backyard but rest of my short game needs much work
You can get quite good at flop shots with foam plastic balls but distance is diff with real balls obviously
Peter it started so brilliant then hmm 🤔 you didn’t made your skills justice! But great fun to watch!✊
Although you did hole the 1st ball, it's a good reality check to see someone of your caliber thin one over the green!
Any good tips for practicing at home as the courses are closed due to lockdown thank you very much ⛳️🏌️♂️😎
Flopposaurus!
Attack!
Great video
Amazing chip in m8
Holes it out first chip, clutch
Nice vid pete
Class👏🏻

I normally don’t “like” videos but I gotta give u one for that first shot mate

when the sand is super compacted, can you play it like a normal firm like in the fairway and pick it clean? just wondering.
I've found that I've been hitting a lot of my bunker shots and chips off the toe as well :( so the answer is to get squarer in your stance? I feel like I'm going to hit it straight out of the hozel then.
I can recommend Gardeners World BBC 2 Friday night Pete. There's plenty on Iplayer for you to get some good tips whilst you're in lockdown :-)
Nice shot Pete! Forget knocking it close, just drain it my man!
The last one is the easiest of them all. Arm swing only folks! Take a weaker grip than normally, open your stance, and open the clubhead. (Hard turf and no grass is perfect.) Pete its almost 40 Degrees today here in Perth, Western Australia! It might be an Iced drink mate ;-)
Jordan still has the best reaction to a hole in one video I've seen (second at Wentworth). Find it if you haven't seen it...lol
Hey question for ya man. I have a 45 degree pitch wedge. 50 gap and 60 lob. Do you recommend getting a 54 or 56 sand wedge? Right now I have a 54 but i want to upgrade it. Not sure if a 56 would be more versatile
Anyone else notice he’s using the tp5 pix and not the vice pro?
That 5th lie would have been putter for me. That way I could of at least had half a chance of getting a good lie in the bunker.
Jordan reminds me so much of Liev Schreiber xD I just see a cuddlier and nicer Sabretooth here (with an amazing golf game ofc)
This got me through the last 15 minutes on my stair master
Thanks Peter, great hole out.
But I’m off to watch some gardening 🧑🌾
😂
Do you have a link to the tripod you’re using please?
I may be wrong but it seems to me you don't see the flop shot much anymore. One of my favourite shots
I need an M grind wedge now 🎉
Demonstration over after 1st shot
5 must have shots for a low handicapper as produced by a tour pro.....Something to aspire to definitely but the average golfer isn't going to have any consistency trying to copy these shots!

I didn't know you were a plumber, Pete. The way you drained that pitch made me think maybe you were working on a new trade!
Looked like Pete was hitting the medicinal greens all day! lol
Am I the only one who thought the thumbnail said Spieth? Not Smith? 😂 great video regardless!
liked and sub only because of the pitch in lolol
Is that store brand Tyrrell Hatton?
Thanks I needed this. I’m breaking 100 tomorrow hahaha
