I'm solidly into intermediate, and I knew the meaning of -ㄹ까요 and have been using it mostly with confidence BUT I needed this.p; it's like watching this video has tidied up my knowledge about it. I might go back and rewatch a bunch of Billy's grammar vids about beginner forms.

Hello Sir Billy, can you make a video about the differences with these: 이, 이거, 이것은, 이건, and 이게. I've been curious about them because their meaning is "this" but I think they have different ways on how or when to use them. I hope you notice this, thank you Sir Billy.

이건 is the shorter form of 이거는. 이거 is the shorter form of 이것. 이게 is shorter form of 이거+(이/가). 이 means this but is always used with a noun. So, 이것 means this (thing).

    What's the difference between:
    A) 그 사람은 정말 바쁜 걸까요?
    B) 그 사람은 정말 바쁠까요?
I don't get nuance with the nominalization here (A was a natural Korean sentence I heard)

It's the same difference as this: ruclips.net/video/7Vs4muZAs_E/видео.html

@@GoBillyKorean 그렇군요! So A) has more emphasis toward the subject "Could THAT PERSON really be busy?" and B) toward the verb "Could that person really be BUSY?" ; right?
Cuz in the dialogue the guy saying that always asks a girl to go out and she always says she is busy, so I would have thought B) would be more natural actually

Yes although the difference is subtle :)

This was really helpful! Would it be possible to make a video comparing ~까요 with ~래요? I've asked native Koreans the difference of this grammar before too but even they can't really explain haha I would really appreciate it! Thanks :))
