In this program, we look at a recently released EMD GP40 model from Atlas. This model is from their "Master" series, and is equipped with sound and DCC. The paint treatment on the grab on the top of the short hood is so well done, it tricked me into thinking it was a freestanding wire detail part!
From the Atlas website: The GP-40 was produced by the Electro Motive Division in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the GP-40 was a 3000 horsepower locomotive best characterized by the three full size radiator fans on the rear of the roof.

Another good one.😮
NICE MODEL
Looks very nice. I'd love to see Atlas do a D&RGW GP40 with the Mars nose light. That would be awesome!
@riogrande5761 Or any other manufacturer for that matter! One of the most critical D&RGW details that are always missing from N scale models. I just picked up one of these GPs and was thinking of adding one myself. Too many projects right now, so that’ll happen one of these days.
Thanks John! I always look forward to your postings. Jeff
Hi John & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks John & Friends Randy
I'd love to have one and see how my old Atlas WP GP40s hold up.
Any plans for an N scale layout tour?
Good video but really wanted to see the drive line on a master class n scale locomotive. It takes very little time to remove the shell. Please incorporate this into your videos from now on, would mean a lot to us viewers.
