An idea for the weasels; if the party had noted the weasels' lair, they may have been able to come back another time to hunt a couple of them for furs to sell back in town. Not necessarily the biggest haul, but also not the most dangerous 'dungeon,' and close to town! And who knows, maybe those weasels ate another traveler, who serves as a treasure? Anyhow, rambling over, still loving this series! I look forward to every one of these videos that comes out!
10 episodes in and this is basically what I watch instead of TV now! You and Joy of Wargaming have got me playing my own solo campaign. It’s been a blast. I know I’m months behind on viewing this, but thanks!
@@BanditsKeepActualPlay I’m running a solo campaign using OD&D as the base, with some modified Cairn rules for faster character generation and dungeon combat. My party stumbled into a decent amount of gold and hired some heavy foot and crossbows, and just battled a wagon train of Orcs led by a Necromancer using Chainmail. I’ve been running solo Chainmail games for a bit now. It’s fun to cross a mapping game, an rpg, and a Wargame into one beast. The Solo Dungeon Crawler has some nice reference sheets on his blog I’ve been using too!
Awesome video! The hunting hexes remind me of playing oregon trail and having to decide whether or not the party should stay around to hunt or keep pushing on to make it to the next fort. Also lol'd at 15:13.
@@BanditsKeepActualPlay Yeah, I think the hunting adds a lot to the game. Makes the world feel a bit more frontier-ish and wild. Plus it is pretty accurate to real life, plenty of explorers would have to rely on what they could catch/hunt/fish to survive on their adventures.
This has been a great series so far, and I'm really looking forward to the next video. I'm really surprised that od&d isn't more like basic, because that is what I always imagined.
I'm logging on to my computer so I can comment. I just want to say that I really appreciate these videos. They are great! (I love all of your content actually.) Hopefully they aren't too difficult for you to make. These solo RPG sessions are a lot of fun to watch.
I don’t cut out much - just the occasional sneeze or me drinking coffee. But I do tend to play a couple of sessions at a time. I’d say roughly 2 hours including setup.

Great ideas!
"Well, we've got weasels..." That quote gave me a good chuckle.
😊

That’s awesome! What type of solo games are you trying (or planning to try)?

I'd love to see you use the catch basins as castles, generate their occupants, and show all the castle/lord mechanics.
I may do that in the future - but right now I’m keeping the wilderness a bit more “empty” I do love the idea of a good joust though!

I like the added drama for sure - I guess eventually the party will have enough gold to carry more rations, but hunting is a fun aspect I think.

Love these actual play episodes! Looking forward to seeing what happens to them once they enter the dungeon.
Thank You!
Looking forward to the next episode and what the dungeon holds!
Thanks!

Thanks, it has a similar structure but a few key key differences that make OD&D it’s own thing IMO

I have a great time making these, thanks for the kind words.
Nice cliffhanger. Thank you
Thanks!
Let's gooo!! I have a good feeling about these guys! Maybe they're more capable then the Fangs!
They are Foxes after all!
Just wondering how long your solo sessions really are, before they are edited down for RUclips viewing?

Hobgoblins... heading home for the Hoblidays... 😊
