As always guys I'm more than happy to answer questions and hear any feedback! :) EPIC MINIATURES PATREON: bit.ly/EpicPatreon EPIC MINIATURES MYMINIFACTORY: bit.ly/EpicMyminifactory Thank you so much to anyone who goes to check these guys out and helps support the channel :) MAGNET SAFETY: Don’t use around small children or animals, if ingested these can be dangerous. Never let very strong magnets slam together, especially thin ones. They can and will smash under a lot of force, and then become very sharp, highly magnetic shrapnel. Not good. Easy to avoid though, just take care. CUTTING METAL TIPS AND SAFETY Steel/nickel is safe enough to use if you're reasonably careful, I cut most of my steel from tin can lids with scissors, though now I mostly use nickel you can buy in strips (see equipment list). Made sure you're wearing thick gloves when cutting and handling, I use some woodworking gloves. If you want to make doubly sure the steel isn't sharp, use a metal nail file along the edges to round it off. Nickel I've so far found to be far less sharp when cut than steel, but being safe never hurts :) SUPERGLUE AND OVEN SAFETY Don't bake superglue in the oven, when heated it can become cyanide gas. If using superglue, only use it on pieces that are not going in an oven, OR have already been in and have cooled. Its fine to use on after that as long as it's not going back in :) UPDATED PAINTING STONE RECIPE September 2021 equal parts mix of mod podge, tan and neutral grey (or equal tan/neutral grey if using over mod podge and black. If so you'll need 2-3 layers to get decent coverage - it doesn’t need to be perfect coverage though. paint about 1/2 the bricks in either: 3:1:1 tan, neutral grey and white or 1:1:2 tan, neutral grey, white Make sure this layer is strong, not translucent by too much water thinning (glazing) Drybrush with 1:1:2 tan, neutral grey, white Drybrush white - make this reasonably strong, or it just won't show through the wash. It's worth doing a test tile until you're comfortable with the result :) Black-brown wash UPDATED WASH RECIPE September 2021 Only make as much as you need, the mixture will settle over time. A good shake will fix it, but not so well when it gets thicker over extended periods... 100ml, half of a 200ml bottle: 15 drops carbon black ink 5 drops transparent burnt umber ink 60/40 water-matt medium I use a few drops of flow improver per half bottle. Adding more didn't really change the result much, and made it run off the pieces a bit TOO easily! SCENIC SEALANT RECIPE This stuff is really easy to mix, I use the following formula: 1 part mod podge 4 or more parts water - you can make this as thick or thin as you like, and just use more layers to make it harder. A drop of dish soap (fairy liquid type stuff) or flow improver - this helps it…well…flow :) The more mod podge, the darker and more 'wet' the dirt will look when dry. But you can use multiple thinner layers and build up strength that way too. DIRT AND GROUT RECIPE Brown and black unsanded tile grout Dirt cooked in the oven and filtered through a sieve. You want to grind this dirt up with some kind of improv mortar and pestle into smaller grains - it doesn’t need to be dust like the grout but should be otherwise pretty small. The ratio you want here is going to depend on the colour of your local grout I just mixed in a bit of black at a time until the colour darkened down to match the original dirt. I ended up with about a 4:2:1 ratio of dirt:brown grout:black grout I now add 1/2 a ratio (shot glass) of natural earth yellow pigment to make the reddish tint go away, without turning it grey by adding more black grout or grout mix. I added this to 12 dirt, 8 brown, 4 black grout. So its more like adding 1/8 of a glass to the minimum ratio shown above (4:2:1 then 1/8th of pigment) ROAD COBBLE PAINTING RECIPE 2:1 neutral grey and raw sienna basecoat Neutral grey on every other pebble (so basically on as many as possible while having no 2 grey rocks next to each other) 2:1 tan and neutral grey on every other pebble again (so no two tan pebbles together) Then 1:1 neutral grey and raw sienna as a final colour, painting half the remaining brown pebbles, again trying to keep them not touching. It's ok if some tiny pebbles touching each other or larger pebbles are the same colour, these are less noticeable and harder to do this with…
Hi I've had a burning question that I haven't found (yet) in your other videos. For magnetic ext/int walls, are they buried into the "ground" tiles or do they rest atop them? When you add the building in this video to the streets, the walls seem to be sunk into the city streets and interior floors flush with the exterior streets.
@deadeye the exterior magnetically connect alongside, the interior connect on top :) The reason you might not have found it is those interior walls are a bonus video on my Patreon as a thank you to those who make this possible :) patreon is way more important to me than ads or sponsors!
Once again, I'm without words. You are a true artist of gaming terrain. To think, less than ten years ago we were playing on painted cardboard and now we have you, the Magnet King, crafting realistic cityscape sets.
Dang these street tiles look great, looks much more immersive than just having buildings on battle mats. I love seeing your setups get more and more elaborate as you add new terrain and mix and match it with old builds.
Just got to say again, your tutorials are fantastic with such high production quality. Really motivating me to think about my terrain I want to start building! Please do a showcase of all your terrain in a massive showcase board!
I’ll also recommend using Foam Board with pictures of textures glued to it and arranged to look like the setting you desire as a fast and dirty method for your upcoming sessions.
I kept skipping past this video when I saw in on my recommendations (even though I always love your videos), then I noticed the puddles on the street in the thumbnail. That is such a great detail, which does everything to bring the scene to life.
Quick mention about Epic Miniatures; used to do some pre-supporting for the guy when I joined his patreon way back when (just offered since I was doing it anyway). He's a good guy just as a person, in addition to making absolutely amazing sculps. Easily worth the money, and hell, I'd support him either way just as a good chap. 10/10
Wow! What a product (craft and video)! How can anyone down-vote this? Superb craftsmanship, filming, editing, and as always an innovative design. Keep up the great work!
Just discovered this channel. Oh my god. You got my creative side going! Its crazy how at the beginning of the video I was like "this is insane, im never going to do this" to "wow, this might actually be doable!" You're an amazing artist and just as good as a teacher. Will be going through your videos for sure!
Randomly had this video appear in my recommended, absolutely blown away by the quality of both the terrain and the video itself, you have inspired me to begin making my own terrain following your methods, thank you!
@@RPArchiveOfficial I just put the magnets into my first pair of 3 by 3 Stone tiles tonight and I have another 30 cut and ready to go, I cannot wait to paint them and use these on the table top
This is the first ever video I’ve come across for this channel and I am enthralled. Is there a video on this showing recommendations on storing the large collection of tiles? I’ve struggled to find the best solution for storing the tiny bit of Dwarven Forge I was gifted. Great work on this! The video is filmed and edited very well on top of the craftsmanship.
I couldn't imagine this level of detail for IRL tabletop. I mean, the magnetic stuff, and all these details are so amazing. You literally just created TaleSpire IRL Just WOW
No clue why this was recommended to me, but I clicked it and man this was insanely awesome. There’s not a great chance I do it myself but great video/vibe!
I don’t understand how I’m JUST finding your channel/videos on making your own stuff for dnd. Like, this is incredible work, great camera working and explanations, and honestly just an enjoyable to listen narration and easy to understand for someone who’s only ever been interested but never able to do anything like this myself. Hopefully, these videos, which I’ll watch probably all of, will change that.
Another great addition to your system. Your channel is one of my top resources. I can hardly wait to start using your ideas, and making scans and casts of the finished pieces. Thank you for the ongoing inspiration.
Thank you man! Talent: its much easier than you think when you have instructions and don't have to figure it out :) Money: foam is dirt cheap/free on a building site if you're lucky, thick card is dirt cheap/free in the back of a notepad, I used just over one block of clay, so £18 or so, other than that it's just glue, paints and dirt. 90%of the other materials I use anyway for other terrain or minis, so the minimal amount used on this project was negligible in cost :) So this whole set probably cost... £30? Maybe? In materials actually used. Patience I can't help you with but the patreon discord is great with project motivation (or so my patrons tell me) 😂
It didn't take 5 weeks to MAKE, it took 5 weeks to record, edit, do photography, interact with my community and help dozens of them with their own crafting problems, and a dozen other RUclipsr jobs, on top of work for my remaining clients in my day job, helping my fiancé with her work and not being a complete hermit from family. That last one I only part managed 😂 I'm not saying it's super fast, but not everything has to be. Sometimes it's nice to take the time to make a really gorgeous, replayable project over as much time as it needs. After all, once its made, you have it forever :)
Matt, most excellent work with this video. It is STUFFED FULL of excellent ideas and tricks that can be used for many different builds. Thanks bunches!
Started watching these videos yesterday, bought a ton of supplies today. Looks like I have a new obsession. Also, mad respect for the comment on superglue and making it pop up as a caption, in case someone is on mute.
This video was phenomenal. Super informative and easy to follow. I have never even considered doing tiles my own, but now i kinda can't wait to try it out myself!
How are there two days old comments on a video that's been up for half an hour? Is this some sort of dark patr(e)on magic? Anyway, after this video I finally decided to join the patreon group. Man, your craft is beyond anything I saw before. I wish I could dedicate the same time to the hobby. At least I can enjoy your awe inspiring stuff on the RUclipss. :)
“I’m going to show you why my method of making maps is better than yours.” Begins to show you $500+ worth of equipment and resources, then 70+ hours worth of work.
Yeah it's super cool and super scenic, but it's definitely not a standard option for someone that doesn't have the time, money, or space for all that equipment
Bottom line - the title is a result of RUclips and who will click on a video. I'd prefer to use clearly labelled tutorial names, but that won't get my channel shown to new people who are interested. I have no issue with people using battlemats! Honestly the main reason I mention them is many crafters who otherwise make things buy battlemats instead of making city tiles, all while wishing they could afford dwarven forge. These tiles cost £30, and if you use the equipment for all your other terrain, it really doesn't cost much either split down. Each to their own at the end of the day - my only goal is to show options to those who otherwise seem to be unaware they exist :)
If you are using a misleading title to attract new viewers to your video then that's click bait, any way you put it. I know this title is objectively better than something like "Map tile building tutorial" but I still have no respect for people who create click bait titles and thumbnails. However, I'll give credit to you in the regards that you make real content, it's just that the video is labeled deceptively.
Do you have an alternative? Beyond work really hard on content and see it go nowhere/get nothing for it. These titles are not the fault of creators. They are a necessity we HATE. Please understand that. All I want is to reach new people who clearly are interested in my content - my comments and new subscribers tell me that :) I would love to do it without these titles, so if you do have some algorithm insight, please let me know. I hate them as much as you do. But you can't argue with facts. Not without losing :/
Well you're highly complimentary! But seriously I make tons of mistakes too, it's just patience and practice... And the pressure of having it recorded super close up for all time on RUclips 😅
We abandoned minis years ago as we felt it just took much away from the game but it’s still incredible to watch the level of effort and ingenuity that goes into this. Nice work.
It realllly depends on the players... I also started doing theater of the mind more often and saving drawn/printed maps for big/complex battles with my current group. I found my current "gamer" group would go into solo/MMO RPG mode when maps were the norm and it went from them less playing the role of their character in combat, to them trying to do everything the most optimal and 'hacky' way. Which often dragged turns on and broke the immersion. Like discussing rules for 2 mins, asking if it can be flanked, then deciding if they want to be the left rear, or right rear, because that other enemy is X feet away and will take X turns to get on their flank, etc etc, ad nauseum. Instead of just saying "My paladin charges the demon you said is less than 30 feet away, and *insert holy praises to their god*, and swings their sword with a smite." I also had a group of older players years ago, and only one was a "gamer", but mostly a DOOM/CoD head. They did amazing with maps, often making mistakes in position by 5-10 feet, or doing something "less optimal" because it made sense their PC would care about a wounded NPC, or actually be too scarred to charge in alone not knowing if the party would do the same next round. It realllly depends on players and how they approach the table mechanically/philosophically.
These are truly amazing, massive potential; and you don't seem to need high-end skills and technology to make them! Those Epic miniatures are epic! That Merman with his frying pan at 7:48 is awesome! :D
Probably has the Merman equivalent of a Halfling Hotpot attack! :D Me and the hobby parted ways (amocably) about '94. It's amazing to see how far the hobby's progressed and how it's grown. My own issues aside, there's so much, it kind of overwhelms getting back to in to it!
Try checking out the very first video on my channel, it's pretty much a guide on getting back into the hobby, and what I did when getting back myself :)
I'm a 51 year old gamer and have never cut myself while using an exacto knife. Instead I get cut with it when it's in the drawer 6 months later and I forget it's in there. Masterful level of detail, thank you for sharing this. Cheers
This video, like all your work that I have seen, is of the highest quality. Your style is a very appealing mix of realism and modularity. It does seem to be a massive commitment. I have a question - have you ever done any calculations regarding cost? Not including tools, only materials and time (min wage rates), do you have a estimate of how much the average street tile costs?
Thank you man! Cost wise I usually find it's less than buying it as a product, even tools etc included (because they last forever, more or less). How much less depends on the options you choose, I mention cheaper ones throughout videos usually :)
@@RPArchiveOfficial Thanks for the reply. I didn't mean to be - That Guy - trying to place a monetary value on art. I understand the value of crafting; creating things with your hands; the personal touch; progressing; effort; the sense of achievement. But I am a quantity surveyor by profession, so That Guy rents space in my brain and I was trying to work out whether my own D&D group was worth such efforts... 😁
Thanks man! But you can absolutely do stuff like this yourself :) start with smaller projects and build up! Check out the getting started video I did recently if you're interested :)
I don’t even play DND or anything like that so, I’m a little confused why this was recommended to me. THAT BEING SAID, this shit is gorgeous and I can appreciate the effort that went into it.
Hiya Matt! For moss in damp places, I use sand superglued to where I want the moss. I then add a green stain to it and sometimes drybrush it if it doesn't pop out enough! Love the vids :D
@@RPArchiveOfficial I also just saw your LED tutorial you recently published, this was actually one of my issues with an on-going project so thanks for that video too! XD
One of the best vidéo about create modular town (Maybe miss the weather like winter (Frostgrave lover) or autumn (dead leave lover) ! Couln't dream of a partnership with Knarb Makes !
For the color on the streets: have you considered or tried an oil wash? The application and wiping off with some mineral spirits is a classic weathering technique.
Thanks Toasty! You aren't on my discord by any chance? There was a toast war on their recently between the various people with toast in their name....and others that picked sides 😂
Dang it, now I just want to use these to build an old timey city Diorama in my spare room just for the sake of having one! Awesome work, I'll have to try and get into making some of this stuff
Absolutely incredible. Top tier quality all round - but damn me if its not totally intimidating, skill and time wise. I want a dirtier, quicker, easier way of doing something similar.
Honestly, please don't be intimidated, at least by the 'skill' - this is a lot easier than it looks! :) There are tons of things you can do to make it quicker, my patrons share their own variants on the discord all the time :) you could do all the city tiles with no magnets and just foam, it'd look really good still and be a lot faster. Hope this sparks some ideas! 😁
I get that. There's always another army to paint! But honestly? Try taking a break and doing some terrain. You can get it finished to a good standard a lot faster, especially if you use the dirt, rocks etc I've shown in various videos instead of painting much of the floor...
Yo, I've been subbed to Epic since 2020, and I echo Your sentiments exactly, not only do you get your moneys worth quantity wise, but each release seems to get better and better in quality as well, and speaking of, your paint jobs, and overall terrain desings are Fantastic, definitely got my sub, keep up the Fantastic work, look forward to future Vids
I don’t think many people are arguing that mats are superior to tiles in any way except speed and portability, but rather nobody uses them because it’s such a time and/or money commitment
See, you say that, but here's the thing - these weren't really expensive. They only cost about £30 in materials and that again (or less) in tools when split over multiple projects... Time, fair enough to some degree, but they didn't that all that long and for many this is an enjoyable experience in its own right! Storage space is not as big an issue when using a modular system like this, because it can be stored very tightly and neatly in simple homemade storage I show elsewhere on the channel... If it's absolutely not for you that's fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion! But I made this video to show those who buy battlemats because the paid for dwarven forge style tilesets are too expensive, that there's an affordable solution with a little time investment...
Imagine an RPG with city tiles as the main aesthetic. You can see the edges of the tiles and also small things like being able to see the magnets as the land "appears" during battles for example
As always guys I'm more than happy to answer questions and hear any feedback! :)

MAGNET SAFETY:
Don’t use around small children or animals, if ingested these can be dangerous. Never let very strong magnets slam together, especially thin ones. They can and will smash under a lot of force, and then become very sharp, highly magnetic shrapnel. Not good. Easy to avoid though, just take care.
CUTTING METAL TIPS AND SAFETY
Steel/nickel is safe enough to use if you're reasonably careful, I cut most of my steel from tin can lids with scissors, though now I mostly use nickel you can buy in strips (see equipment list).
Made sure you're wearing thick gloves when cutting and handling, I use some woodworking gloves.
If you want to make doubly sure the steel isn't sharp, use a metal nail file along the edges to round it off.
Nickel I've so far found to be far less sharp when cut than steel, but being safe never hurts :)
SUPERGLUE AND OVEN SAFETY
Don't bake superglue in the oven, when heated it can become cyanide gas. If using superglue, only use it on pieces that are not going in an oven, OR have already been in and have cooled.

UPDATED PAINTING STONE RECIPE September 2021
equal parts mix of mod podge, tan and neutral grey (or equal tan/neutral grey if using over mod podge and black. If so you'll need 2-3 layers to get decent coverage - it doesn’t need to be perfect coverage though.
paint about 1/2 the bricks in either:
3:1:1 tan, neutral grey and white
or
1:1:2 tan, neutral grey, white
Make sure this layer is strong, not translucent by too much water thinning (glazing)
Drybrush with 1:1:2 tan, neutral grey, white
Drybrush white - make this reasonably strong, or it just won't show through the wash. It's worth doing a test tile until you're comfortable with the result :)
Black-brown wash
UPDATED WASH RECIPE September 2021
Only make as much as you need, the mixture will settle over time. A good shake will fix it, but not so well when it gets thicker over extended periods...
100ml, half of a 200ml bottle:
15 drops carbon black ink
5 drops transparent burnt umber ink
60/40 water-matt medium
I use a few drops of flow improver per half bottle. Adding more didn't really change the result much, and made it run off the pieces a bit TOO easily!
SCENIC SEALANT RECIPE
This stuff is really easy to mix, I use the following formula:
1 part mod podge
4 or more parts water - you can make this as thick or thin as you like, and just use more layers to make it harder.
A drop of dish soap (fairy liquid type stuff) or flow improver - this helps it…well…flow :)
The more mod podge, the darker and more 'wet' the dirt will look when dry. But you can use multiple thinner layers and build up strength that way too.
DIRT AND GROUT RECIPE
Brown and black unsanded tile grout
Dirt cooked in the oven and filtered through a sieve. You want to grind this dirt up with some kind of improv mortar and pestle into smaller grains - it doesn’t need to be dust like the grout but should be otherwise pretty small.
The ratio you want here is going to depend on the colour of your local grout
I just mixed in a bit of black at a time until the colour darkened down to match the original dirt.
I ended up with about a 4:2:1 ratio of dirt:brown grout:black grout
I now add 1/2 a ratio (shot glass) of natural earth yellow pigment to make the reddish tint go away, without turning it grey by adding more black grout or grout mix. I added this to 12 dirt, 8 brown, 4 black grout. So its more like adding 1/8 of a glass to the minimum ratio shown above (4:2:1 then 1/8th of pigment)
ROAD COBBLE PAINTING RECIPE
2:1 neutral grey and raw sienna basecoat
Neutral grey on every other pebble (so basically on as many as possible while having no 2 grey rocks next to each other)
2:1 tan and neutral grey on every other pebble again (so no two tan pebbles together)
Then 1:1 neutral grey and raw sienna as a final colour, painting half the remaining brown pebbles, again trying to keep them not touching.
It's ok if some tiny pebbles touching each other or larger pebbles are the same colour, these are less noticeable and harder to do this with…
Try waxed bakers paper instead of regular paper. It's designed to release to the dough.
I don't want it to :) I'd rather it stuck to the paper than the roller, the paper is easier to peel from than the cutting mat 😄
Mindblowingly cool! FWIW, a bit of Black 2.0 or Black 3.0 will make cracks and holes look like they are *miles* deep.

Im speechless... best crafter out there by far, no one else even comes close. Can't wait to see the street light video!
Tomorrow! 😁
Just ran into your video and OMG! Your detail work is just WOW! I am now addicted to your page.
Not many people are going to spend 5 weeks or more to make this themselves. It is however beautifully well done and looks exceptional.
That last one I only part managed 😂
I'm not saying it's super fast, but not everything has to be.
Thanks for watching Kevin! 😁
Every time I think you've done the best project ever...you go and outdo yourself! Your work is straight fire! Keep it up!
Thanks man!
Started watching these videos yesterday, bought a ton of supplies today. Looks like I have a new obsession.
Also, mad respect for the comment on superglue and making it pop up as a caption, in case someone is on mute.
Awesome! Love hearing about new people getting into the hobby :)
And yeah, safety is just too important.
This is absolutely incredible.
Thank you :)
Looks awesome, interested in those lanterns, I've been thinking about making something similar
More than anything I appreciate your patience in working the details. Bravo, sir! It's a joy to watch you work.
This video was phenomenal. Super informative and easy to follow. I have never even considered doing tiles my own, but now i kinda can't wait to try it out myself!
That's awesome man! 😁 Let me know how it goes :)
Indeed patreon magic, and welcome! Massively appreciate the support Paul! 😁
All I want is to reach new people who clearly are interested in my content - my comments and new subscribers tell me that :)
I would love to do it without these titles, so if you do have some algorithm insight, please let me know. I hate them as much as you do. But you can't argue with facts. Not without losing :/
Yeah, I've got a solution. Join our raid on RUclips headquarters at 3/21/2022 11:32 AM EST.
Had to come back and watch again. A really good video with sooo much in it that help with my own crafting.
So far I've only made it through the intro, but I love the tiles! These might be my new favourite!
Thanks Samantha! Yeah they're up there for me too😄
not that i ever thought about putting superglue in the oven, but i did not know that it was harmful so thank you for teaching me
My jealousy of your skills fills me with rage! Brilliant!
Instead of just saying "My paladin charges the demon you said is less than 30 feet away, and *insert holy praises to their god*, and swings their sword with a smite."
I also had a group of older players years ago, and only one was a "gamer", but mostly a DOOM/CoD head.
Isn't he! I so need to use him 😂
Probably has the Merman equivalent of a Halfling Hotpot attack! :D
Me and the hobby parted ways (amocably) about '94. It's amazing to see how far the hobby's progressed and how it's grown. My own issues aside, there's so much, it kind of overwhelms getting back to in to it!
Try checking out the very first video on my channel, it's pretty much a guide on getting back into the hobby, and what I did when getting back myself :)
@@RPArchiveOfficial I will do cheers!
You've invited me in!
You're doomed! :D
I always find your work dances that fine line between genius and madness, amazing as always.
Haha! Thanks Scott, that's the line I aim for 😂
Great idea using the pasta machine.
What an incredible project and a spectacular result! Thanks for this brilliant tutorial!
Thank you for watching!
Finally a use for the pasta press that i swore i would use, someday
It looks so realistic and easy to play on! I wish you would do some kind of time to time sale
The problem is time - if I did that then everyone else wouldn't get any videos from me 😂
I'm a 51 year old gamer and have never cut myself while using an exacto knife. Instead I get cut with it when it's in the drawer 6 months later and I forget it's in there. Masterful level of detail, thank you for sharing this. Cheers
This. Banged my head in the kitchen yesterday and started bleeding. The kitchen is the true threat 😂
Haha that's fair enough, I didn't take it badly :)
Awesome video as usual Matt! I'd definitely be interested in the Sewer video you mentioned if you decide to make it!
Actually that would be a good place to add it in, the sewer video... 😁
This is some crazy talent
Amazing work!
First time watching this channel, and I have to say - I'm SO IMPRESSED!
Damn, you're good at this!!!
Thanks man! But you can absolutely do stuff like this yourself :) start with smaller projects and build up! Check out the getting started video I did recently if you're interested :)
This was an insane video. I was captivated.
Wow! Amazing! You're very talented
Wow...this is amazing! #goals for sure. Keep up the awesome work Matt and thanks!
Thanks Rob, I will! 😁
I've been looking for a good building tutorial like this for some warhammer projects thank you so much
Glad I could help!
I think this is my favourite video! You sir, are the terrain making goals 😁
Thanks Dannie! 😁 Glad you like it!
@@RPArchiveOfficialI don't suppose you live in Dorset and fancy putting together workshops? Or the south west tbh, I can travel 😅
Haha! North East unfortunately 😂
@@RPArchiveOfficial ah, I thought so! 😅 stupid geography
I'm already covered in projects and work, so I'm going to add this to the backlog but seriously, thank you :]
Glad I could help! 😁
@@RPArchiveOfficial
I also just saw your LED tutorial you recently published, this was actually one of my issues with an on-going project so thanks for that video too! XD
Happy to help man! 😁
I just.... I have no idea how I came across this but I'm blown away.
Glad to hear it 😁 maybe check out my other videos and see if you like them too 😄
@@RPArchiveOfficial oh don't worry I subscribed adn will be.... But also, I now have one more hobby that I'll be getting into.
My friend sent me this video a few days ago. Absolutely fantastic stuff.
Well thank your friend for me :)
You're a scenery wizard Harry!
I actually backed the epic miniatures most recent kickstarter. This time next year cant get here soon enough
You build wonderful tiles Mr. Potter.
It is, but it lacks the dirt texture I was looking for :)
Dude between you and Black Magic Craft I think there is nothing a person can't make. Fantastic info
Dude, this stuff is seriously impressive, God Damn!
Congrats on 300k views! Nice to see your channel growing :)
Thanks Toasty! You aren't on my discord by any chance? There was a toast war on their recently between the various people with toast in their name....and others that picked sides 😂
@@RPArchiveOfficial yes I am on your discord
Ah, but WHICH toast are you, is the real question 😂
Dang it, now I just want to use these to build an old timey city Diorama in my spare room just for the sake of having one! Awesome work, I'll have to try and get into making some of this stuff
Do it! 😁
Dude, those are some beautiful tiles!
Thanks Rebekah! 😁
Absolutely incredible. Top tier quality all round - but damn me if its not totally intimidating, skill and time wise. I want a dirtier, quicker, easier way of doing something similar.
Honestly, please don't be intimidated, at least by the 'skill' - this is a lot easier than it looks! :)
There are tons of things you can do to make it quicker, my patrons share their own variants on the discord all the time :) you could do all the city tiles with no magnets and just foam, it'd look really good still and be a lot faster.
Hope this sparks some ideas! 😁
You always do amazing work.
Thanks Pheonix! 😁
Fantastic level of detail here. I doubt I'd have the patience for it, being more of a wargames tabletop person.
I get that. There's always another army to paint!
But honestly? Try taking a break and doing some terrain. You can get it finished to a good standard a lot faster, especially if you use the dirt, rocks etc I've shown in various videos instead of painting much of the floor...
Who in the world would put a dislike on this? This is epic!
Haha thanks! 😄
The video doesn't deliver to the title, it doesn't match cost or convenience of battlemaps
you’re the greatest dnd youtuber fr
These are bonkers. Really cool.
Dang dude these look great. I want to play at your table
That 3d template is excellent idea!
Thanks Ryan!
This is exactly what was in my mind for some time now
You my sir are crazy talented, your work is just stunning!
Fantastic work, very inspiring.
I’m glad I found you with this video. Definitely subscribed
I was thinking of doing something like this with magnets. Thanks for showing the world!
This is incredible. Your skill and attention to detail are amazing!
Imagine an RPG with city tiles as the main aesthetic. You can see the edges of the tiles and also small things like being able to see the magnets as the land "appears" during battles for example
