10/11/90 - North Shore Surf Club, Olympia, WA Love Buzz 3:00 Scoff 7:24 Sliver 9:19 Turnaround (cuts out) This was the first show with Dave Grohl on drums.
goes to show how quickly time flies. a year after this show, nirvana blew the top off the music industry & changed everything. just two & a half years later, kurt was gone. now chris is bald, dave is fat (but still going strong) & i'm a middle-aged man w a wife & two kids. smh.
@@briancannon3987 and on top of that-great control, dynamics, intuition, memorable parts and served the songs as well. Sure there’s more technical players and innovative players but I’d certainly say there is a magic about Dave and there’s a reason he was apart of the “it” factor of the beauty of nirvana. This is an early clip and he certainly only got better. Everyone’s got their opinion though!
This video is such a tour de force. Imagine not knowing this band and being in the back of the room and having something click in your mind. These guys were such a bolt of lightning. Nothing else was even close to this as far as what music could become. You would not expect these guys to hit so hard and become such a massive act. So glad they did, wish Kurt was still around.
Demn! what a diference with Dave! he just fit perfectly to the beautiful NovoKurt symbiosis and made NIrvana PEak to the best Band in HIstory! u can tell Kurt was so happy in his voice, he could focus totaly on it not being disapointed at fuckedup drumming! amasing!
..i dont know but during "scoff" kurt looked so fucking bad ass plus dave and chris are jamming so fucking hard...love these early shows..so raw and intense...

26 years....ahhh. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Born in 1975. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. This feels like 10 years ago. SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT.
Oh man, MDS! R.I.P Tom Kisor. I shared a rehearsal space with that guy back in the day. Saw him do hook suspension and play bass at the same time. Then he offered me some meth, which I politely declined.
Am i the only one that finds it odd that this was the 1st show Dave Grohl played with Nirvana and for 95 percent of the video , the camera is on him? Almost as if some one knew that people in the future would want to see this. usually videos like this are with the camera on the singer the majority of the time, but not this one
Well Ariel ummm I would have to disagree there Kurt made this band Dave was the missing link Kurt deserves a lot of credit! It would have been the same if they found another drummer Kurt would have made the band huge regarded so Kurt does deserve a lot of credit
You would haveto be insane to think Kurt gets too much credit.Without kurt there wouldve been no nirvana.Just go back to listening to sucky foo fighters.
Thurston Moore said, and he should know, that after Dave Grohl joined Nirvana 'They became a unit, which was really special.' "Never Mind" is on a different level to "Bleach" & surely the difference is the new drummer.
I love the way Krist moves with his bass, haha
ya 2:19 i almost was laughing out loud 2 his movement is second 2 none lol
haha

Yea, Dave is really unhealthy and fat.
Dave ain’t fat

Time flies, don't it?
dave just drives this to the next level, kurts instincts proven correct...
you can really notice the change in quality between Chad and Dave. Dave was so solid
the volume and power was a huge change for their live sound. dave's drumming was perfect for Kurt's voice
But Dave did not play with double kick bass like Chad
and that's not to say that chad was a bad drummer, but Dave was just on another level. his style fit perfectly with the band.
The video shows how much of a powerhouse Grohl was...
LuxeXx “was” he still is mate
It sure does
More hype than truth. Yeah he's on point n loud. Let's leave it at that shall we?

If I'm not mistaken, this was Dave's first show with Nirvana after he joined the band.
You are not mistaken, this is it
It was as a just watched the interview wae Dave tellin us it was lol
In less than a year after this show, everything would change in the music world.
And then about 3 years after that it would change again in the most tragic way :(
