About us:
We're Jack & Megan, and in late 2020 we sold our belongings and packed our lives into our 2005 Toyota Troop Carrier to travel Australia. Our original plan was to complete a full lap of Australia and return home to Perth to resume our 'normal' lives. We decided we wanted to document our lap for the future and began sharing weekly travel vlogs of our life on the road and fell in love vlogging, filmmaking and sharing our lives with you. We completed our first lap and couldn't imagine living any other way so we decided to continue travelling and calling the Troopy home. We have gone on some crazy adventures since then and it is all thanks to you tuning in to join us every week.
Don’t be in a hurry to try & see everything in Tassie. It may be our smallest state but it has so much to see. I’ve been several times & still discovering special places.
It’s a pity you didn’t do some of the nearby walks along Dove & Crater Lakes & up to Marion’s Lookout.
Yesss we definitely want to return to do all the walks we missed! As you can probably tell from my horribly nasal "good morning everyone" 😂 I still wasn't feeling 100% unfortunately and didn't want to push it too much! Still in awe of what we were able to see though!
OMG I can't believe you didn't hike the short walk to the historic Kitchen Hut while at Cradle Mtn from the Lake Dove Boatshed and return via the historic Waldheim's Chalet
I’ve said this many times and I appreciate that not everyone has the luxury of time but Tasmania is not a state to rush. To do our beautiful island home thoroughly you need at least 6 months to absorb it all.
@@GR8Tmate or in my case come for a visit and don't leave.
@@andybrockbank3027 Yeah I’ve heard of people doing that before. I will die in Tasmania, it is close enough to perfection for me.
I do suspect at some point we will need to sink the ferry
And shoot down incoming flights in order to keep too many people from finding out 🤣
Yes, you would love the hike up to Kitchen Hut, then Crater lake Lookout...you need to go back😋
Next time you go to cradle mountain, stop at Ronny Creek car park and walk on the Overland track. I always see wombats around there.
Liffey falls, heading to the great lakes is a nice spot for photos.
You probably need at least a month of slow traveling to see most of it.
I loved it so much, I packed up and moved here over 10yrs ago.
You were literally just a hop skip and a jump from where I grew up In Chudleigh Tasmania near Deloraine.. Beautiful country❤️❤️❤️
Sensational spot.
Dove Lake very memorable on a clear day (cold yes but you'd be fine.....haha)
Hi Guys
Just started watching your Tassis Vids. I just love seeing the joy on your faces on seeing this beautiful state. We moved here sight unseen from Perth WA last year. It was always a dream of ours to retire here. And we are so glad we did. When we went to Cradle Mountain, we were lucky enough to have snow! It was amazing and very surreal.
Looking forward to watching the rest of your trip unfold!
Love Tassie. One of my best state destinations. Enjoy guys
We hope you’re absolutely in love with our home island Tasmania! We’re both going to be very jealous as you enjoy Summer there! But for now, with your inspiration, we’re living out our dream of travelling around Australia! Thank you so much for your content! 🤩
Morning guys,
Thanks so much for watching 😊 we are absolutely loving our time here we’re in love with the place!! Happy Sunday 😊
What a treat in seeing the old records and player.. Havent seen them un yrs but brings back so many memories of my dad (late) playing them when we were kids... sadly a lot of young ones today wouldnt know anything about them as they are a by gone era....
Stunning photos of Cradle Mountain. If you like waterfalls, Russlle Falls near Hobart and St Columbin Falls in the North East. Really enjoying your reaction to seeing our beautiful state. Safe travelling.
If traveling the Lyell Highway to Hobart and you have a spare 1/2 hour, try the start of the Frenchman's Cap walk. After about 15 minutes you get to a suspension bridge over the famous Franklin River. You can only do the whole Frenchman's Cap walk if you have a spare 3 days and are supremely fit and committed. The suspension bridge is a great little 'taster'.
So happy to see you enjoy my beautiful home state of Tassie. I have hiked into the cradle mountain area hundreds of times and love the area. Travel safe and enjoy Tas 👏❤️
You guys always put a smile on my face.
How do you always seem to put out better content every week .
Video footage is awesome.😊
Your comments always put a smile on our faces Kevan! So glad you enjoyed the video 🥰🥰
Travelling together with the one you love is one of the greatest pleasures in life.
One of the best waterfalls is Russell Falls in Mt Field National Park. The first time we went to Tassie, on the 28th of December we drive to the top of Mt Field and it was snowing ( 3 days after Christmas).
Oh how magical! Yesss we just visited Russell Falls recently, it is sooo beautiful!
Beautiful scenery. Each time I've been to Tasmania, it's always been around Hobart. I need to do a trip up north during one of my trips. The wombat is my most fav Aussie animal (along with the platypus). When I go camping, I usually see them more active just before dusk/sunset, until dark. Thanks for sharing your trip. ❤
Absolutely pristine wilderness
You've done it again awesome video
Megan & Jack U2 are simply the BEST...🥰🥰🥰
That was stunning! 😍🏔
I am scared of heights and had to shut my eyes a few times 🫣😰
You guys did so well.😊
The joy of being in Tasmania was evident on your faces and in your voices, enjoy you two, beautiful house that was 😍
Great photography Megan! Beautiful scenery is one thing but capturing it the way you do is next level. Looking forward to the next episode guys 😊
Thanks so much Jason! We are already so excited to share the next episode haha
Love Tasmania, it's such a beautiful place.
If you get the chance go to Mount Field National Park it's just stunning.
I love Tassie, I want there in 2013-14 from Sydney. We hired a car and did seven nights in different towns. Was amazing and was a big bucket list item for me. I was blown away with Tassie and fell in love with it. I’m itching to get back soon in my 4x4 and car camp. You guys are an inspiration. I love you’re vide and I love the way you conduct yourselves. Thank you so much for what you do.
Picturesque locations. This episode brings back so much memories of my trip to Tasmania nearly 20 years ago. I've been to the same places you've been. Make sure you also visit Mt Ossa, Tassie's highest peak. Bellissimo. 👍
Such a beautiful place hey! We are hoping to try get to Mount Ossa!
Hey guys, if you need a spot to park up on Bruny you can stay at our place.
Always plenty of room for another Troopy.
I have been watching guys since you started your travels and you just blow me away, you guys are the nicest couple living life to the fullest your content is outstanding always a joy to watch your photography is outstanding
People from overseas who watch your videos really get to see what Australia is really like you are doing our countries tourism a great service keep up the great work guys
I think a production company in our country should take you guys on board and make a ongoing show or documentary on travelling Australia it would be a HUGE hit absolutely luv you guys❤️❤️❤️ your parents would be so proud of what great people you are
These Tassie vids are great....can't wait to see you travel all around! Love my state and seeing people love it too!
Beautiful, so jealous! Wait until you see a fully grown wombat, I could not believe how big they get, they can be huge.
I am looking forward to your upcoming videos and taking notes too, enjoy!
I am on holidays in tassie & thought I saw your troopy a couples of days ago. Add penguins to your bucket list. They were under the veranda of the place we stayed at in Bicheno.
Megan & Jack thanks for the video 👍👍👍
You guys put a smile on my face every time. My favourite RUclipsrs!
Aww that means the world to us John! Thanks so much for brightening our rainy Sunday 🥰
Hi guys, love the video, my face is aching, haven't stopped smiling since it started. It's so refreshing to see and hear your excitement for this beautiful country of ours. Thanks again, safe travels. Smokey
Love Tassie. Lived there for some time. Magical place. So much to see.
Sooo much to see! We'll have to come back a second time haha
Wow everything looks so beautiful and so fresh and clear, I can feel the air through the screen!!! And the house seems so warm and cosy, perfect 😊
Thanks guy's,we didn't see the cradle in the mountain it was full of snow, they where expecting up
to a metre in that car park in the morning. My god it was cold.but beautiful. Thanks so much.🍺🥂👍🏾
wicked what a trip ! 🏔️🏞️🛻🤙😎📹
We are actually doing the Overland Track on the 1st February for 8 days been on our bucket list too
Great vlog guys...Cradle Mountain is just magical ✨️
Love watching you guy's, will love Tassie I live in Burnie
We need to get you guys on some proper hikes while you're here! Also a Bonorong Wildlife night tour is an absolute must for animal lovers!
Really enjoying seeing your travels in Tassie. My favourite free camp was at the Bay of Fires near St Helens. As for the record player at the house I have one but is now used as a TV stand. From the 70s I think.
How good is Tassie! I've seen more of Tas than my home state of Vic. Cradle mountain is one of the most amazing places I've been to! Haven't been since 2008 but hoping to take my son there in the next couple of years. Also that house is bloody unreal, such a cool vibe!!
Wombat poo is cube shaped, its very easy to spot......awesome video guys.
PS: When I was a kid that style of record player was our ONLY way of listening to music......and my mum used to play exactly that record, a Readers Digest gem lol.....she had the whole boxed set of them. Blows my mind to think of how technology has changed in just my 54 years.
Your videos bring back so many memories for me. I met my husband in Airlie Beach, hes from Melbourne, Im from Perth.....and he and I travelled together in his troupy for 2 years before getting married and having a family. We're just about to start the process to sell our home in WA and set up to start travelling again but this time I think we will travel in something a bit bigger than a troupy, Im too old for that game these days. Loving your videos.
Haha brilliant!! We’ll definitely be inspecting poos more closely now to hopefully spot more 😂😂 thanks for watching Heather! 🥰
Tassie is an amazing place. My partner and I did a month long camp trip around apple isle earlier this year and I got the chance to propose to her at Ted's Beach in the Western Wilds, would definitely recommend if you have time. We are planning to head back in our new troopy this time as a month was not long enough! Love watching your videos, keep up the great work guys ❤️
So happy you’re loving Tassie!
Its honestly the best! Thanks for following along :)
Incredible. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for watching! ☺️
Awesome place. Summit is a little challenging but fun 😎
I'm so glad that you finally made it to Cradle and that you're enjoying your stay down here! :) Living on the road here for the past few years I'm still to see it all. BTW - that device in the lounge room is technically a "radiogram". :) Pikelet and I are looking forward to seeing where you go next. :)
Amazing and wonderfull place!
Wicked episode guy's, thanks, looks like your enjoying your time over there! Safe travels guy's
I was in Hobart in Summer 2000 and it snowed on Mt Wellington 😮
The little wallaby is called a padymellon, lots of them at my place, they live in my garden hedge. I have a resident eccidna also see him regularly
Tassie looks awesome! Thank you for sharing your travels. 🙂
It's honestly stunning! Thanks so much for joining us Jaqueline!
Tassie and its free camps are the best setup ever I loved tassie
We are in love to!!
Very cool Ep guys, On our to do list Tassi one day.
Looks like you skipped most of cradle mountain. Such an amazing place and so much wildlife 🙌
How good! Great video! Can't believe it's that cold in Nov! 😅
That's what we said! So used to it being beach weather in Perth at that time 😅 Thanks for watching George!
That’s hilarious! I have the same feeling about hearing people eat!
I don't know if you are planning of visiting Maria Island, but it's full of wombats there. Around sunset you can see about 30 or 40. It's a magical place ❤️ heading out myself there next weekend for my birthday 😊
Yesss it is so high on our list to visit! Honestly can't wait haha 🥰
Any time of day on Maria you can see what feels like 100s of wombats 🤣
A must see is the wall, on the lyall highway.
That record player is called a "radiogram" 😃
Tasmania is definitely a stunning place hey!
Go to the springfeild tea rooms up the north east at scottsdale.. trust me
You're making me homesick. Awesome video, tha kd for bringing back awesome memories. Tassie is such a magical place. Are you doing the road to nowhere does the West Coast?
You should have walked along the boardwalk at Ronny Creek. Wombats would have been guaranteed by the bucketful at the time you arrived.
❤️ loved it 😊
If you like mountains make sure Strathgordon/lake pedder is on the list, best campsites in tassie and I live here!
Happy Sunday Jack and Megan
Morning Glynn 😊 hope you enjoy the video!
@@itsJackandMegan I know I will touch guys always do great videos 📹 👍
Please, when you go to Freycinet National Park, stop at the Visitor Centre to say hi to my sister Coline. My husband and I have been following your adventures for a while, I'd love to see a selfie of her with you both 🤩
What's the chance "music for dining" is copyrighted 🤣.
Awesome Vlog, I'm so keen for cradle mountain now.
When you’re back on the mainland - I live in the Limestone Coast of SA. I see wombats, echidnas, emus, wallabies, and kangaroos almost daily. So if you’re hunting for wildlife, I’d say spend some more time in regional SA 😊
Oh my gosh yes we'll have to put it on our list!!
I had the same old sound system, but mine had a black & white tele as well, geeezz i'm old.
It was a 50m walk to the lake when I drove there last.
i have parked at the lake there and sat in the car and saw the snow falling one direction and the rain another
Misophonia is horrible. Enjoying the trip to Tassie so far. I'm looking forward to what else you do while you're here.
Thanks for watching Michael 😊 can’t wait to share!
Fellow misophonian about to embark on van life as a family of 4. Fingers crossed for a smooth transition and lots of coping strategies. Any tips would be welcome :)
You are going to have to return to this spot when its snowing . Totally different again. When its not snowing there is a three day walk over those mountains , called the overland track.
Yesss we have to!! Would be incredible to see 😍
Haha I saw a wombat in pretty much the exact same spot but right in front of me closer to the waterfall 😁
Came for a week in 86. Had an opportunity to work here in 91. Never left.
Hey Guys glad you are enjoying your Tassie trip, If you are on the North west coast on a Sunday come check out the Penguin undercover market. Its a great little market. i run a little food stall called "Faulsys Donuts", Come say Hi the Donuts are on me
U need to go to dip falls on the northwest coast
When on the West Coast you must visit and camp at Trial Harbour.
Thanks for the tip Andrew!
it's called a RADIOGRAM ! My parents had one. A common item in houses prior to CDs.
Greens beach on the west coast is a free camping area. Enjoy the west coast if you can make it to the end of world 👍
Maria Island is a great spot for wombats, you can’t walk there for tripping over them 😂
Great vids!
Goodmorning all
Tried to get a boat over but both boats are booked out for months to get over and even longer to get back so i'll have to try for next year.
Oh that's a shame! We did have to book pretty far in advance due to the troopy being above 2.1m!
Thanks for sharing your holidays! Can I ask what camera she's using?
There is 6 months of content in TAS for sure.
Welcome to our beautiful island home, if you'd like to tell us where you are off to next at the end of your videos we would be happy to share some hidden tassie gems 😉😊❤️
No, no, don’t give away too many secrets to the mainland invaders 😂
By the time you’ve seen this, Jack n Megan are already about 10 days to 2 weeks further along I believe.
I can’t believe J & M only allowed 4 weeks to visit the best state in Australia- that should almost be a crime 😂
Too many to list 🤔
Such a beautiful place❤️. Now prepare to annoy everyone you meet by telling them they have to go.
Haha yesss I think we've already started annoying people with that! 😆
Love ya bowl Jack
Haha anything to minimise dishes 😆 although I've suggested eating from the same pot and he refuses to do that 😂
Where you stopped your car. Ronny's creek is where you get your wombat shot's.
Jack I can’t stand anyone chewing
Too 😂
Yay 👍
Hope you enjoy the vid mate 😊
Allways do 💕
I've booked in for October- November next year. What time were you there?
You're going to love it! This was shot just a couple of weeks ago so mid November 😊
2 Degrees!! Positively balmy!
Hahaha us Perthians can’t handle the cold! 😂
Good old Tasmanian Good plas
If you want to see wombats go to Maria Island there is hundreds of them 🙂
Yesss we are so excited to visit there! 😄😄
Does jack always eat breakfast with his seat belt on?? 😂
🎥👍
Your record player is a Hi Fi
1st like
While it's great to see you guys enjoying Tasmania, please don't stay in Airbnb's as they have decimated the rental market and we now have working families who are homeless here in Tassie as they can't find anywhere to live.
