    I can’t even tell you that I have tears of joy doing the exercises in this video. I have been absolutely miserable for the last four months with “interstitial cystitis“ symptoms seeing doctor after doctor, medication after medication for bladder pressure and frequent urination. I’ve done this video for two days and I’m already feeling major relief. God bless you for putting these videos out to help people.

    Over 2 months ago, I began having an issue with my bladder. After several tests and ultrasounds, I went to another specialist and she said that I strained my pelvic floor. Finally an answer! @@riswqnkhan3400 Honestly, I’m still not normal, but I’m much better. I’d have a few good days and think I was healed, but then I’d have a bad day. I’m working with a pelvic floor PT now and a urogynecologist. I’ve learned more about the bladder than I ever imagined. Apparently the bladder takes a long time to heal. Hope you’re feeling better. I keep coming back to these videos and they help.

    Hi, Melissa. I found your videos through a forum on pelvic floor release during a pelvic flare and saw one of your videos on it. When I felt strong enough and in less pain, I did the yoga and it absolutely lessened my pain. Your yoga makes me much more aware of what I'm doing to my body than other kinds of yoga. I'm grateful. After this video I can absolutely feel the muscles I held tension in. Definitely gonna try to keep up the momentum by doing this every time I have energy, as well as your other pelvic release videos. Thank you for what you do. I feel transformed.

      It really depends on so many things and everyone is different. I like to take the approach of the pelvic floor in that it is a system that needs to both lengthen, relax, and contract. It is constantly moving throughout our day to meet the demands of our activities. It's about what you are feeling when you do the exercises and getting to the root cause. Breathing and posture are key for this 💗

    I cant empty my bladder fully, will these exercises help to cure it? Or is there any other way so plz tell me

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  Год назад +4

      Sometimes a cause of not being able to fully empty the bladder is from a tight pelvic floor. Gentle exercises like these coupled with breathing can help relax the pelvic floor making it easier to go to the bathroom. It's all about learning how to use your core & pelvic floor system. When there is too much intra-abdominal pressure this can lead to pelvic gripping and tension causing difficulty going to the bathroom, overactive bladder, leaks and more. We also have several other videos on our channel to help with tight pelvic floor that you might enjoy 💕

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  Год назад +4

      Glad you enjoyed this video! The ball is a myofascial release technique for the upper abdominals. This area can be tight from gripping and clenching. That tightness can inhibit how the diaphragm is working which is a major player in how the core and pelvic floor system works. By releasing this area it can help the breathing muscle length. Keep up the great work!

I had TSS back in my past because of tampons so I moved to pads then started using the diapers for piriods and recently I started endlessly tinkling lately at 45 . I once used to be athletic as a youth then had two kids and life had been living me for so long just keeping going . I will not be in diapers for peeing to now . I will try to update after I have tried them . I also lost 60 pounds and started micro working out trying to work all I can as much and as often threw out the day . I now see that my workouts having lunges in them kind of is what has been helping some by spreading the hips . So I was helping with things I just started doing like a week ago . So patient healed thyself works here lol .

    When dealing with OAB, do you recommend only release and stretching and stop strengthening?
    So many sources are conflicting. I’ve been dealing with urgency since my late teens, I’ll be 35 in a couple weeks. “Kegels” have never done me any good. Been to two PTs and have only been instructed strengthening movements.

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  Год назад +2

      Such a great question & it all depends on how you are doing the exercises. The key is learning to manage intra-abdominal pressure, when there is too much pressure this can lead to tightness and gripping in the pelvic floor which can cause OAB. Things that create too much pressure could be how the exercises are done, sucking in abs, holding breath and so much more. So for my clients we work on releasing the pelvic floor and getting to the root cause of the tightness and then learning how to manage intra-abdominal pressure.

    I was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis years ago after I had my firstborn in 2013. Then years later another Dr said she thinks it’s overactive bladder. Food and certain drinks to tend to aggravate the bladder. It can be debilitating and cause anxiety and depression. I have two children to care for at home. It gets stressful and stress makes it worse. Do you think there’s a correlation with these conditions and pelvic floor issues being the culprit? I did have two c-sections. My bladder was significantly worse after pregnancy and having children. But what I struggle with is when these bladder flares come at times and it’s so debilitating and I’m embarrassed to be around anyone because of how bad the spasms get for hours and I just keep feeling the urge to urinate and keep peeing. It’s 95% of the time not an infection.

      I always recommend checking in with your healthcare provider and a pelvic floor physical therapist can be so helpful for your exact needs. I have found for my clients the pelvic floor is involved and working on breathing and position changes, things throughout their day, and combination of a few exercises they can get some relief.
