My first car ,1965 impala SS convertible no engine or box😊 got it free! Took it to auto shop at high school and put In a 409 dual quads 😊 black with buckets!!!😊😅😅😅
@@dloneyv8it is crazy, all that texc comes at a price in weight. I think some hellcats weigh in at 4300lbs and the new gt500 is like 4100lbs. The fact they brake and handle the way they do is a testimate to the engineering that goes into those cars.
Awesome! Back in the day ‘83-‘86 I worked at a Chevy dealer (Lyman Slack) and a light green 69 SS427 would come in for work once in a while. I loved that car.
Beautiful car that runs great! I heard the spray which kind of dampens my accolades, still nice and clean though. Horrible 60 ft. time he could pick up 2 tenths with a better launch set up.
@@dloneyv8 Oh believe me, he can get great 60ft times out of that car. I raced Stock Eliminator for decades, those Impalas with the huge trunk overhang combined with a very good factory 4 link can hook great on 9" tires. There are some inexpensive "tricks" so to speak that work great with the factory rear end set up. Also of course loosening the front end a bit, you don't need $2000.00 shocks, just the right shocks, don't need to back half it or anything expensive either. Heavy car, lots of rear end weight, it'll do great. (I had a '65 but raced a '68 SS396 for a few years). Very nice clean car there!
The impala is blueprint engine off the shelf crate motor 632 on 200 shot we now have progressive to a 400 shot and the car has went in the 40s heavy weight is hard on parts period and we are working on the 60ft times it has alot of outdated used parts we are getting around to fixing He also drives this car from vancouver washington to woodburn and runs 9s and drives it back on the i5 in bumper to bumper and hot weather and it doesn't go over 190 Roland is a old school portland street racer and has alot of cool history we met a few years ago re did the sketchy death cage and have had nothing but Pb ever since Cheers to heavy chevys
Great meeting and chatting with you today. Your brother was a blast to work with, you and I are on the same page with that deal. I’ll probably ask you about a Ranchero he had? I remember seeing it once?
Got it. Could have sworn it was a Ranchero. My dad was a Chevrolet Zone Rep and I do know the difference between a Ranchero and an El Camino. Fun to follow along with your videos
Runs fantastic. The color and paint job, nice straight body - beautiful ride!
I agree and it’s got nice white interior too.

Damn! Big ol' Chevy laying it down...love it!
Beautiful car and body lines, looks fast just sitting still. Great sound as well.
I agree totally. And it’s got nice interior too.
She's dialed in beautifully!
SOLID, CLEAN, BEAST❤
I’m a Ford guy but I love those old Chevy’s, when I was a kid my parents had a 67’ Caprice with a 396 in it. That car was a beast
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
I love fast B bodies...like Scavo back in the day.. a good friend has a 66 ..8.80's on the motor..
I really liked Scavos black 65 too. It was a beast. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
I’d drive it on the street just to humble Teslas and Bimmers.
To humble them? How would it humble them as they drive past you while you couldn't drive past a gas station?
Like those BB(Big Bodys) putting in work😎
Whats crazy now is hellcats/mustangs and camaros are pretty close to this weight.
That’s true! I hadn’t thought of that. Amazing how heavy they are in a smaller package.

impressive
Muhammad Ali as a car: Big, pretty, and FAST!
Well said!
@@dloneyv8 Thank you(
This beauty actually weighs 400 lb less than a Hellcat, 500 if you count the headers, aluminum Intake and heads.
The Hellcat is not really a car, it's a computer on huge ghetto wheels, with no tires.
Haha! I have heard they are hard to race.
Lead sled. A good friend had a 69 SS Impala with the 427 (factory) yes it was heavy but after some work it was a beast. Love those big cars.

They were working up to hitting it harder and earlier without spinning the tires. It’ll definitely go quicker with a better 60’

Right on! Thanks for the background on that big bad Impala! I want to hear some stories from Roland for sure. 👍
Awesome

Nice meeting you too. Mike had a lot of cars over the years. I do remember a blue Ford Ranchero he owned for a few years.

I have no doubt our paths will cross again dude. Kinda want to say that it had a yellow/gold base with hand striping and obviously his air brush work?
Yes, that’s a 69 ElCamino. His sons have it now.
(excuse me, A '5!!!!)
Can ya daily it ?
Impalas aren't as heavy as you think
4000 for this one? Not sure.
Was that a all-motor pass?
No he was spraying it after the launch.
So what's the details? Motor, tranny, rear? Weight?
565” TH400 not sure on the rearend
