Sorry this video is so late! Thanksgiving weekend really put a hamper on things, and Otaks had some issues with his files.
Hope you can still enjoy this duel for one of the coolest unit additions to FEH this year!
RULES:
1)Each summoner will get 25 pulls on a banner. A coin toss will determine who goes first, and pulls will be done in a serpentine order.
2)Using the score value chart, pulls will add or subtract point values to each summoner's total.
3)Before the duel begins, each summoner will get to pick their own 5 star unit as a "boon" target (It can't be the main legendary target). If a summoner pulls their own boon, it is worth 400 points.
4)In addition, each summoner can pick a unit for the opponent from the 3-4 star pull, and set that as their "bane". If a summoner pulls a bane unit, it is -200 points.
5)Whoever has the highest score at the end of 50 total pulls is the winner. The loser must promote a 4 star unit to 5 star, which the winner will select and have their in game nickname changed.

I can relate to Otak’s comments on FEH, while we’ve been getting some great characters and game modes, the core game has begun to get stale. There’s too many modes that only happen like once every two months, stuff like the Tower thing where you get random skills & Rokkr Sieges should really be weekly modes like rival domains. After you’ve done everything new for the day, all there’s left is AR and the Coliseum modes.
That comment on power creep having a limit... what if in 10 years time (if the game still exists) they actually release the April Fools Feh...
I recently started playing Draglia Lost alongside FEH and that game has too much to do each day, there’s always some event going on and you’re constantly building up your characters, whereas in FEH once you hit lvl 40 and finish your build all that’s left is.. Merges & Dragonflowers? Hope the anniversary or Book 4 really shakes things up, because the game needs some consistent new content.
Managed to get Altina in about 20 pulls (but +Spd lol), would continue for merges + Marth but we might finally be getting the CYL banner next banner and if Jill’s on there... imma need every orb I can get.
Also nice Earth Boost 1 SS on that Marth, truly the greatest SS of all.
The thing about dragalia and games like it is you spend so much time grinding for random drop materials just to buff up a character then grind some more to get the resources to buff weapons and anything else like summons and transformations
Hell even free characters require some grinding just to keep them
I disagree totally ...if you have not paid attention there are chain challenges, rival domains, squad assaults, heroic ordeals, blessed gardens, tatics drills, on top of paralogues, and the main story all which give you orbs, dragon flowers, and feathers? I just dont understand. all I want is more and more characters I love them all. honestly like a FEH2 would be nice with better graphics imo more contents but this game is just fine as it is imo there isnt much more they can do with it in my opinion.
100% agree, the core gameplay loop needs to be revisited as it's gone stale. There's plenty of content yes but there's nothing keeping that content fresh. When's the last time you've gone into the Training Tower unless you were desperate for those orbs at the end of a banner? Not to mention AR is unbalanced garbage.
Like those daily ghb battles? I remember them being challenging when I first started playing. But now I'm done them they just sit there in my special maps. Cycling each week never being used. There's no replay value.
The game has been feeling stale for me too lately. I haven't been participating the past two weeks. I'm losing interest. If this feh channel doesn't introduce a mode that isnt just another weekly whale-to-win mode, or monthly mode I'm throwing the towel in. Granblue fantasy is a lot more fun for me.

Did you see the huge tornado Beunnya makes that was awesome, you just have to be good at the game to have all the units you want.

I'm really hoping that the Book 4 FEH Channel brings something new to shake up the game. I hope it's something like a new colosseum mode or something else that stays around all the time. The modes that have been introduced lately are great but they aren't around for long enough. I also hope they add some new customization options for heroes too so you can personalize your characters even more which is something I especially like.
We didn't get anything to ground breaking IMO, but maybe the new code currency from Mjolnir strike will do something cool!

That was kinda rough for both of you :/ At least you got some more 5* in the bonus round. I also spent 113 orbs and got Altina, L!Marth, L!Julia, Fjorm and L!Tiki, so I'm pretty satisfied with my haul :)
I didn't even notice what people are saying about FEH currently, since I stopped paying attention after starting Dragalia in March. It's cool that you also seem to still play that since I thought it was more of a one-off thing for you! But even before then FEH has been pretty stale imo which is why I started Dragalia in the first place, so to me FEH hasn't really gotten worse in the meantime. I just play enough to stay in Tier 20 AR and Tier 18-20 in Arena, and get all the orbs to pull on banners I like.
PS: whenever Otaks said "Speedy" it sounded like "Sweetie" to me lol

Hey Speedy! Congrats for what you got, but im sorry that your losing streak is sadly continuing :( the Book of Beruka continues to wreak havoc.
I dont follow too many FEHtubers, but i will say its sad to hear and see some of them drop the game. I cant understand though some people finding it stale or being discouraged by powercreep. I personally would never stop, but thats because i love the FE series too much, so i can look past FEH's flaws. I hope you keep going strong though, your content is always fun to watch, definitely my favourite FEH stuff. Im really looking forward to that tier list collab video :)
Im sorry you didnt get Altina. I was expecting, like many people, for it to be Lif and it would have been an easy pass for me; but the combination of Radiant Dawn being my absolute favourite game, loving Altina and needing an Astra Mythic meant i couldnt resist going for her, and i luckily got her in 70ish orbs, which was lucky because im still in orb saving mode.
I wrote this after the FEH channel and the update. I hope you are as happy with the new update as i am, because i absolutely love it! Some amazing arena/quality of life changes, and i am so hyped to see more of Book 4, Peony and the new game mode! Keep it up man.
Edit: Mia powercrept my Karla skillset though so that made me sad :(

I got two Sothis and one Altina, I still don't have Marth, so yeah, I feel that, he is in every Mythic banner and I still don't have him.
But Sothis is so good that can't complain, I'm still super hyped with this game

@@ayA.-ff4lh I don't remember, I spend 160 on Legendary Leif and only got Azura, now I think it was around 40 - 60 orbs, but one of the Sothis was on her first banner, spend on one day and got nothing, next day first summon circle Altina, second summon circle Sothis, very random

I used about 200 orbs (Sorry Bernie) and got only a -Atk Marth...until I used even more orbs and got 3 Altinas in a row! I also managed to pull Sothis and Bridal Fjorm. My luck did a 180, and now I have a Superboon Altina who got me into T21 for my 3rd time!

Managed to get 2 Altinas and I opted for the +res. Now my Astra team is much better being able to field both Altina and Naga. And between these two mythics, they can soak chills to spd, def, and res and also chill atk, spd, and def themselves. Debuffs are such a core mechanic in AR that you really need to make use of them and find ways to get around them when playing that mode.

So far I actually love her so much, she has good bulk to survive many attacks and hit like a truck with her special acting like a Iceberg version of Regnal Astra to allow her more damage to take out the enemy with her res actually being very high so her damage output is significantly high
I also got L!oli Tiki as well so I merged her... only legendary to have more than 1 merge so I have been inspired with the idea to save orbs now and +10 Legendary Tiki

I went into this banner just to get a single sothis, and i spent WAYYY more orbs than i intended just to get one sothis. I spent 300, when i was originally gonna use 50 orbs, and got 5 altinas, 2 marths, 1 tiki, until i finally got a single sothis. Hopefully your dry spell ends soon speedy. Guess all your hawk luck went to your subs ?

I summoned in Lucina weekly banner when it first came....got to 8% not even a pity breaker,uninstalled.....came back and summoned again in its re-run, got to 8% again without Lucina or even a pity breaker....uninstalled again, I will really consider playing this game , it making me go nuts

Feel like 1 and a half week where Speedy is not called Speedy and seems like it will continue this way but with a new merge for your recent 5* Beruka so not everything is dark and depressing.
Well I have 5 orbs left, my summons include: Free L.Marth, L.Marth in 15 orbs, L.Marth at 68 orbs and a B.Fjorm (+hp-spe) for a final pity broke around the 120 orbs and no Altina to reach AR 27 consistently, neither L.Julia for Mirror Impact fodder, now I have 3 Marth merges for my first summoned 5* wich is pretty neat, but starting today I'm not summon anywhere until Hel comes around, Altina reappear or some Close Counter guy shows himself, whatever comes first.

I got +atk -res Altina and +def -res L Tiki within 50 orbs, then later I got a Duma merge. I wanna keep pulling for Julia or Sothis, but since the new heroes banner may be Farfetched I'm gonna save them. I got super lucky on my alt, though - I've gotten everything except for Yarne, Marth, and L Tiki.
(P.S. Are you excited for the new refines? I'm glad Mathilda finally got one!)

I think we just need 4.0 to come. I feel like I felt this way last year as well. 2.0 kinda staled because it was on its sunset, and then 3.0 came and everything felt great but now I'm just bored of 3.0 and want 4.0... does that make sense? I don't think I'm making sense right now lmao.

You know what sucks me out of Feh frequently and made me become much less dedicated? Legendary Azura, other than the new arena scoring she's the worst thing in the game. She's a blemish on everything that's never going to go away.

Yeah, Pokémon has always been a weird case for me. My favorite 1P adventure was Black/White, but as far as competitive battles, the only time I ever cared to get into it was Diamond/Pearl (I used to play a TON of Battle Revolution on the Wii back when it had online). Since then I've just had output failure to the nth degree and couldn't really keep up with the system changes, not to mention I didn't particularly like Mega Evolution or Z-Moves. Sword/Shield's meta so far is a step in the right direction; I may watch and see where that goes before I decide to make a battle team. I don't plan on winning VGC or anything, but you know. lol
I also agree that Heroes is in an overall good spot right now, though some parts of the game do feel pretty stale. My best suggestion to anyone going through fatigue or similar status would be to just take a short break and, like Otaks said, "you don't have to play any maps, just sign in for your daily items and get out". Even with my occasional frustrations and irks however, I still have fun with it and I will continue playing until the service ends, just because I love FE and its characters.
A tough loss, but I'm sure you'll get 'em next time!
I was huge into PBR too! Me and my friends would spend the whole day just switching off challenging people in ranked!

The powercreep is dagger and healer units? Since they were orignally given weak daggers and their old bst was super low
What feh desperately needs is a very challenging pve thing that endgame players work towards. Pretty much all endgame is pvp aside from allegiance battles (which is fun)
Can't agree more, we do have the Abyssal maps and some Squad Challenges are annoying because of the stat bloat, but I think a mode with daily rewards and multiple difficulty options would keep players coming back and feeling good about building their units to "end game" status
Well I'm not gonna talk about my luck on Feh recently - but let's just say I think Otaks and Speedy will probably curse at me for it

FEH has accessibility on its side. Compared to every other gacha, FEH is so simple. Its very casual. Its gacha lite-lite. Nothing like FGO, Dragalia or Magireco which are all grindfests. Not saying i like those less, im trying to praise FEH here. And it does come to that, FEH can't really stay all that fun if you stay casual. If you get into the competitive meta, make builds for each mode, pull for the units the modes tell you to, etc, etc. Then yes, it just means it won't keep its audience as long as other gachas keep theirs. The other gachas are grindy but don't tell you who you should pull and use (AKA mythics). FEH can get complicated gameplay wise, more than other gachas while it attracts a more casual fanbase and then it offers nothing to them.
I think that's why I love it so much, because it requires very minimal upkeep!
I can play for like 10 minutes a day and still feel like I'm not missing out on anything.
I personally just have fun using a variety of characters together in combos and building them up with unique sets, but that's just my opinion :)
I know the feel of the Marth curse... I needed 3 to +10 him and end up with 5 altinas and like 3 sothis and just 1 marth...
Damn you still got bad luck i see ;-;, almost feel bad that this is probably the luckiest i've ever been in Feh, because i got Altina (+attack -res), but then i got Legendary Marth (had one already), then i tried again (i actually was aiming for Sothis, no other banners really had my attention other than igrene but i don't think i'm getting her, i can wait), and then i got L Marth again (+speed this time), Legendary Lyn (+attack -hp) AND Sothis (+hp - def) in the same circle, and i am so happy because i was hesitant to summon on legendary/mythic hero banners for the LONGEST time because the L Marth debut did hurt me a bit despite getting quite a few things there, i'll never be able to live with my +4 L Abound Hector.
But it doesn't stop there, i then got Gerick on a REDEEM summon on the Innes and Ephraim banner (+def -hp) and then i got Karla randomly trying to get Igrene (she's +speed but unfortunately -attack), so it has been rapid fire 5 stars, this is the luckiest i've been in feh so far, and i even got my first Valbar and Mercedes (Valbar is perfect IV's but Mercedes isn't unfortunately, still gotta wait for that perfect Mercedes and Brady bunch), and even a Tethys, got a lot of new 4 stars, and this makes me so genuinely happy, and i'm already adoring my Altina and Sothis, i finally have an Astra and Dark hero for AR, i only had Eir for the longest time
Decided to kind of go big and all out here since i know i'm pretty much never going to be touching christmas because of it being so armor unit focused, and well, Altina certainly interested me, and well, Sothis, i did also get a random Edelgard but that was a long ass time ago and got Ewan, so far the only Three Houses characters i'm missing now are F Byleth, Claude (who i really want) and Dimitri, unless this christmas banner has non armor characters, i pretty much ain't touching christmas and will be saving up for new years, gonna be going for Takumi and Gunnthra.
My current merge projects are Bantu (if i get enough of him, currently the only dragon that interests me to build), Tailtiu (she's a bit far down the line though), Fredrick (for an experiment if anything, his refine with Double Sturdy Blow), Athena, Subaki (Need +def), Valbar (only armored unit i'm considering, need more of him) and the dark lord himself Raigh, Sophia as well maybe, as for grails, i'm actually kind of going with everyone, i'm aiming to make everyone at least +5, or at least the ones that can be good, so no Ursula, and ones i will actually use so no black knight or Zephiel.

Ironically I've fallen behind on FEH because I'm too focused on 3H. It does feel like something's missing from FEH though. Maybe if the story were a little better?
It's a good thing in my opinion to move on to the mainline games, but I actually thought Book 3 was a pretty big step up in the story department!
@@SpeedyHawk Oh book 3 was great, but it feels weird that once one of the books ends it just....ends and none of the characters really reference it ever again.

He attacks you once, it's gonna be in the single digits afterwards... only issue is not dying on the retaliation sometimes. He should have just gotten the fire sweep effect on his dagger. comment on the state of the game: it's creativity is dead or at least gone. all FEH nowadays does is stacking. BST, skills etc. Game modes are easily replaced instead of maintained. QOL updates won't keep this game alive. Powercreep runs heavily through FEH's veins, making even upcoming weapon refines dead on arrival
FEH's game design is extremely lazy or maybe at it's limits since it's core relies always on summoning. Currently it's carried by the IP, question is? How long will even that last
FEH in 2019 is your average hero collector, as sad as it's sounds
Agree that the IP definitely carries Heroes, but I actually fine the core combat engine very fun to play with. If the gameplay sucked I wouldn't keep coming back, no matter the IP. (like Pokemon Masters). Even if the gamemodes are just shallow rehashes of modes that don't change much up, I still think FEH is fun as a strategy/tactics game
