I've been on the tool reaction train for 4 different sets of channels now lol. Dylan Caldwell and his wife, trash talkers, drew fortune and lost in Vegas.
This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality. Embrace this moment, remember we are eternal. All this pain is an illusion. Looks like Christmas came a little early this year. Watching Smoke just groove in his own world while Hollywood (mostly) quietly loses his mind is about the most appropriate reaction to Tool at their absolute best as I've ever seen.
My friend worked at a movie theater when this album came out. We went up there after close and cranked this up and sat in the middle of the empty theater and I was blown away. Imagine experiencing this for the first time at 110 decibels.
i'm not joking when i say that this song played a part in saving my life. and did you notice that the song is itself a parabol? yea that's it you've got it, it's a parabolic parable for our parabolic life. we start there, live and it's exciting to live with all the joy and pain of it, and then we return where we came from. and all that middle bit may as well not have happened but it is happening and it's a holy gift, an opportunity to see the world and feel stuff for a bit. here i've got another recommendation tho you're not going to see it. if you haven't heard any indian hip hop listen to warli revolt by swadesi. they're killing it at the moment. look for the official video because it's got english subtitles
The trinity is definitely on Lateralus. Y’all need to put that album on, top to bottom once you’re allowed to freely listen to all songs on the album. Put on the headphones and kick back for 80 minutes. It’s been a great album to trip to for me.
@@Andrew46_2 I worked a delivery job in high school and could listen to it all the way through each night. I basically just did the same for Fear Innoculum - spent a little over a year hooked on it daily. Now it’s every other day.
There is definitely a connection between all the members of Tool as well as Alex Grey their artist (who has done acid/DMT). I imagine at some point they have talked about these ideas together. But also the albums themes are somewhat archetypal of the journey in life and growth and death.
My uncle use to tell a story of him remembering being born, he could see him self outside of his body & he could remember his entire life from that moment. This is my favorite song, it’s very spiritual to me. Anytime I’m angry or blinded by life’s pain. This song pulls out of me such gratitude for life, for the experience & beauty that has been created here ; then the pain turns into a perception, understanding that it is an illusion being chosen.
...."some revelation"....having children. have kids and you will understand it on another level. Ive done more psychedelics and drugs than most will ever see, and after having a family, music means something totally different on a level that no drug can touch. having said all that, i have lost a daughter to chromosomal disorder, she was 5 months old....we are now expecting our fifth child. life is a parabola, ups and downs... have a family, make kids, be a good person, teach, learn, love....i will see her again, we are eternal, all this pain is an illusion.
My two cents: to add to Hollywood's interpretation, a parabola on a graph is a shape that will rise, then fall. If we make zero the start and ending value of it, it essentially maps out one's life. From birth to death. However, the parabola extends infinitely to either direction beyond zero. The song is a message to cherish the life you have, but perhaps in relation to the theme of Lateralus there is some kind of spiritual connective tissue that holds us together that transcends reality, consciousness, and life. We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion
The whole show is a body chill. Last tour this is the song that they played as the projector curtain opened up and the band was finally in full clarity, with the spiritual body image circling in the background, it was so epic, crowd just going mental

Don't apologize bro, I love the fact that you guys are speechless. It's a testament to how much this band is different than everything else that's ever been composed.
“I almost cried”... dude.. I saw that.. me too.. every time I hear it.
Great reaction boys, this ride has been so fun. Im actually sad you're almost through Tool but happy for you of course. Here from the beginning!
I've been on the tool reaction train for 4 different sets of channels now lol. Dylan Caldwell and his wife, trash talkers, drew fortune and lost in Vegas.
The holy trinity IS on Lateralus! Last 3 songs...
Based on the comments this should be special. Spiral out army.
6:27 duuude! his face! damn.... he didn't listen to tool, he experienced it
Can we get a video with you guys telling us your personal top 10 favorite Tool songs once you finish their whole discography? I’m very curious
My friend worked at a movie theater when this album came out. We went up there after close and cranked this up and sat in the middle of the empty theater and I was blown away. Imagine experiencing this for the first time at 110 decibels.
That sounds fuckin amazing
I'm envious.
i'm not joking when i say that this song played a part in saving my life. and did you notice that the song is itself a parabol? yea that's it you've got it, it's a parabolic parable for our parabolic life. we start there, live and it's exciting to live with all the joy and pain of it, and then we return where we came from. and all that middle bit may as well not have happened but it is happening and it's a holy gift, an opportunity to see the world and feel stuff for a bit. here i've got another recommendation tho you're not going to see it. if you haven't heard any indian hip hop listen to warli revolt by swadesi. they're killing it at the moment. look for the official video because it's got english subtitles
Thanks for helping me start my day with tears of joy. This song always makes me feel alive
You guys will love it when you’ve heard the whole album, then you can experience it front to back!!!
I was 9 years old when I saw tool live at ozzfest donington park. This shit changed my life
The trinity is definitely on Lateralus. Y’all need to put that album on, top to bottom once you’re allowed to freely listen to all songs on the album. Put on the headphones and kick back for 80 minutes. It’s been a great album to trip to for me.
Use to do this at least once a day my entire senior year of highschool. It was like meditation.
@@Andrew46_2 I worked a delivery job in high school and could listen to it all the way through each night. I basically just did the same for Fear Innoculum - spent a little over a year hooked on it daily. Now it’s every other day.
@@thmp3r yeah I've been listening to FI everyday in my work truck lol. Dunno how many times now, it's too many to count.
I think most everyone here would watch if they did this lol.
Agree 100% but I'll add that everyone, at least once, should listen to Lateralus in the "Holy Gift" order.
Man, I’ve been waiting for this one since I started following y’all’s journey back in June. By far my favorite Tool track(s) of all time
As David Gunn said, "this body isn't mine, it's just something I'm using"
Welllll here we go!!! This made my day!!! 💪💪💪❤️
Lateralus is for sure the best album ever.
Are you so sure? Depending on the day... Tool's discography is the greatness
Something about lateralus makes me feel eternal as all this pain is an illusion
Ticks and Leaches.. most underrated
@@prefono I’m sure. They all rule though.
It’s massive.
Finally.... theyre doing this one....
I saw Tool live and this is the one that gave a full body chill
The whole show is a body chill. Last tour this is the song that they played as the projector curtain opened up and the band was finally in full clarity, with the spiritual body image circling in the background, it was so epic, crowd just going mental
@@NooDLES411911 gotta say waiting for them in total darkness them hearing the first notes of fear inoculum out of nowhere brought tears to my eyes
Yes! One of my favorite musical journeys. Looking forward to seeing you guys experience it. :)
Disposition-reflection-triad is gonna be amazing. That's probably their best work imo
Full album review, if these songs get to you individually imagine what the album will do.
Parabola was my most streamed song on my Spotify list of 2020. Go figure 🤷. Excellent video too!!
the most joyful sound in existence. let's go. make sure you have a look at the video at some point too
Eeeekkkkk! You've done so many but there's still more. Highlight of my day, today!!😁😁
Life before Parabol /Parabola and now going forward with life after hearing this masterpiece. Welcome to the other side.
Did this song literally bring Hollywood to utter his first on camera F Bomb? Happens to the best of us when we witness perfection!
Its been an epic Tool journey. It is time you bridge over into the other timeless iconic 4 piece group: Soundgarden
Totally agree with you. A stunning band
Absolutely!!!
My favorite
You guys need to hear this live. Epic ain't the word. So happy you reviewed this masterpiece. Disposition, Reflection and Triad next my dudes 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Now that would be an experience
😆 y’all are awesome! Just found out Max will be joining us in the world this week so the timing couldn’t be better! So stoked for this one! Buckle up fellas! ❤️🌀🤘🏻
Congratulations Lisa!!! I know you're so excited to meet little Max! ❤
@@microgirl3789 thank you! I am beyond excited! Next week he’ll be joining us for toolgating! The newest trash talker 😁
Awwww how exciting, Lisa!!
Ironically Parabola was the song that kept playing in my head while in labor with my daughter!
@@bettyrocker_Lia I just listened to it and cried like a baby 😂 it’s so epic! I am so excited and scared lol. I’ve done this before but it’s not any easier. Thank you! I can’t wait for toolgating ❤️
Yall should save The Holy Trinity for the very last Tool Tuesday.
