The best franchises share this trait, a consistent, eye catching intro, usually involving a trumpet somewhere! Rocky, the Godfather, Star Wars. Its like fanfare when a president or royalty walk in to a room, a call to attention. Incredibly effective.
More than 10 years ago I was at new years party. I was drunk and sick and I thought I could not go on drinking... I took my MP3 and this intro theme played...gave me the chills ONE MORE ROUND! - ONE MORE ROUND! It worked ;)
I friggin' hate the reverse plaster here. The short-lived logo from 1975 is used, but the music from the 1994 logo is heard. The first two Rocky films opened with Transamerica UA logos (the 2nd film used the more well known 1975-1981 variation), with nothing but plain silence. Much more effective opening than in the most recent prints.
I agree, it was implied in this film that the only reason Rocky even came close to winning is because Creed didn't consider this a "fight", but thought it was a "show" so he didn't train at all for it, while Rocky trained harder than he ever did before, and could still barely handle him.
That opening song has to be the best Rocky music.
